Jim's Body Shop provides high quality autobody work at a fair price. I have had to bring in my Mustang, which I am very partial to, several times and have always been happy with their service. Recently, another car sideswiped mine in a parking lot, to the extent that I could not open the drivers door. Imagine how fun it is to crawl over the center panel to get out the passenger door. I drove to Jim's with no appointment and asked if they could provide a temporary fix before repairing the everything so I could at least open the door. They fixed the door immediately and would not take any money for it. I have an appointment for a complete repair, and sooo appreciated their kindness in making my car accessible in the mean time. I took my car here after a tree fell on my hood. I had to pay out of pocket as I had canceled comprehensive coverage a couple of weeks earlier, and even though the tree belonged to my neighbor, their insurance wouldn't pay as it was "an act of God." Jim's got me in right away and fixed it in no time! When I came to pick it up, they had cleaned the car inside and out. As I was driving off, I noticed that they had also replaced my windshield wipers with no additional charge. One star review - I didn't even get as far as receiving A QUOTE from Jim's body shop - Han (employee) took pictures of my vehicle's (370z) damage (rear bumper) on May 16, 2024. He said "my boss will email you in an hour with the quote" - NEVER HAPPENED. A week & a half went by so I called & asked for the quote to be emailed - he said "Sure, I will email the quote to you right now" - NEVER HAPPENED. Two weeks have passed since that phone call - NOTHING. My guess is Jim's Body Shop did/does not want to work with insurance claims since they make more money/bigger profit if you pay out of pocket vs insurance. Living in the Ravenna neighborhood and walking past Jim's Body shop near daily, I have seen many vehicles in various states of damage outside this building for years now. The vehicles rarely stay long, which I was reminded of when my car's bumper was ripped off recently. I arrived at the shop shortly after they opened on a Friday and drove away just over a half hour later with my car's bumper reattached and as good as new! The service and professionalism I expereienced from the folks in the shop was incredible. I didn't have an appointment, but my impromptu repair job was treated with precision and prompt action. My car got broken into and whoever did it went through the wires leading to the backseat and set off my airbag light. When I was calling around, all of the local shops said that they don't do airbags, even the dealership where my cars from. Jims offered to do a diagnostic at least when no one else would, and they found the faulty wire, ordered the new parts, and had my car back to normal within a week. Price was fair and lower than I expected for an airbag issue. Very transparent with the costs and the main mechanic I talked to was pretty helpful and let me keep the extra parts from what he ordered. I don't review many things but just wanted to show some appreciation for the good work that they provided me. read more

Jim's body shop review I took my car in to Jim's body shop to repair some damage to my rear passenger side. The price we agreed on after a deal he gave me was $400. A few days later, I received a call that my car was ready for pickup. When I went it to pick it up, I noticed damage to the front bumper which had not been there before. When I brought it to the staffs attention, they were extremely confrontational and rude. When I went to discuss the issue and billing with Christina, she said that none of her employees had admitted to causing an issue. She then said that the only mistake they had made was to not take photos of the entire car when I initial brought it, before beginning work. She then went on saying how they did me a favor, and that if I kept complaining, they would charge me $1500 for the work that they already agreed for $400. This is unacceptable. Despite this, I had already paid the agreed amount of $400. Even though they did a good job fixing the original damage to the rear passenger side, it is unacceptable to be negligent and damage my car when I left it in their care. They refused to take responsibility and kept trying to use the deal they gave me as valid excuse for me to accept damage on my car that wasn't done by me. I will be going to a different shop to repair it. Overall it was a very unprofessional experience and I would not recommend or come back to this business in the future. read more

BEWARE, they cashed my repair check that the insurance sent to them without any repair done. I had an appointment (evening) to drop off my vehicle for repair and they were closed. I came back the next morning and waited half hour, two hours past their stated opening hour and they were not there. I tried phoning and contact them on facebook and they never replied. The insurance told me they have already cashed the check, I gave them trying to get these guys to do the repair and they told me my only option is probably to file a case with the police. read more

Jerry was great! He was so kind, friendly, and accommodating. He explained the repairs and costs so I could understand and never made me feel dumb with my weird questions. Someone hit my car while I was driving on Roosevelt, and Jerry let me get the repair prepaid so I didn't have to worry about the guy's credit card not working out, screwing me over. He always answered the phone and was very prompt with handling the weird payment process. Someone was already picking me up, but he offered to give me a ride back to my apartment when I dropped my car off. Alberto, the person who did the repair, did an amazing job! My car looked much better than when I left it. He got rid of random car paint on my car and the bird poo on my rear window. :P They even made me want to take care of my car better. Humberto offered me two choices and assured me that choosing the less expensive solution (pounding out dent and filling vs. replacing fender) would produce in excellent results. He was right. I got in an accident on I-5 in my 1990 truck, and one estimate I got for fixing the damage was $3500. I was just about ready to give up on my truck and sell it for scrap, but I called Jerry at Jim's Body Shop after getting a recommendation from my regular mechanic. Jerry and Humberto drove to my house to check out the damage. After looking at it, Jerry said that they could make it roadworthy for $1200. They towed it to the shop on Tuesday morning and called me Wednesday by lunchtime to say it was done. Jerry offered to stay late until I got off of work that day so I could pick it up (though luckily I was able to leave a little earlier than usual). When I got there, Jerry took me outside and my jaw dropped. I was expecting to be able to drive the truck, and not expecting it to be at all pretty. If I hadn't been in the accident myself, though, I wouldn't have known anything had happened to my truck. They did incredible work, and in a day! And they even vacuumed and cleaned the inside, too. Both Jerry and Humberto were so modest about the wonderful job they did, too. They are really down to earth, and genuinely want to do what they can to help. I keep telling people that Jerry and Humberto are magic men. I am so incredibly grateful. Plus, Jerry was just plain nice. He actually had me sit down in his office and just talk instead of rushing into work or rushing me out the door. Not that I'm hoping to have another accident, but if I should, I've got more peace of mind knowing that I've found someone whom I can trust to help me pick up the pieces and get back on the road. read more
