We headed to O'Reilly this past weekend when we were in West Seattle because my car kept trying to die on me... So that was exciting. I was pretty nervous, because my car is a little bit older, and I was really hoping that it was just the battery and not something I'd have to shell out hundreds of dollars for. We went in and talked with Dave, who came out and tested my battery. He determined that was the culprit, but he also tested the alternator and gave a quick look around under the hood to make sure there weren't any other pressing issues. Thankfully, it was just the battery. He showed us the battery we needed, we bought it, and put it in. Good as new! He even waived the core charging fee (I think that's what it was called) which was an additional $20 so that helped a little bit at least! We walked out spending about $170. Good service and walked away with my problem fixed, so 5 stars all around in my opinion! read more

I just bought a New Rear Wiperblade for my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country. The BOSCH 16" Blade had the instructions in pictures? And sadly l discovered that the "Pictures" were REVERSED! So l followed the "Pictures" and it DID NOT LOCK INTO POSITION. So l went inside and told the clerk that it was NOT locking in place. So he came out and had me remove it and he just put it in the OPPOSITE of the "Picture Instructions". I pointed out that on the back of the packaging the positions are of a clip pointing to the LEFT and the hole was to the RIGHT when ACTUALLY it NEEDS to be the Clip pointing RIGHT and the hole to the LEFT. His smug attitude didn't help anything as l pointed out that l had followed the Picture Instructions and that they ARE BACKWARDS. I will also do a Yelp Review of the Manufacturer, BOSCH and their idiots that screwed up the Pictures of the Proper Installation of their Wiperblades. I will never recommend or purchase ANY BOSCH PRODUCT EVER AGAIN!.. read more

Every time I've gone to an orielly's the staff has been over backwards to help me! This last visit, my new (to me) car had the tire pressure light go on at 7:30pm on a Friday night.... and the amazing man who helped me check my tire pressure explained a few things to me about the sensors and about recommended pressures. Great service super fast and had what I needed in a convenient location that was easy to find. I just bought a 2002 jeep liberty limited edition and it was a QT low of ATF now I'm not and I am happy I was able to get in and out with ease. Always get friends service and offered extra help for no charge. Edit: So I forgot my funnel to add the ATF to the transmission, I go in asking were they are located and roughly how much this would cost me. He said don't worry about it and they they had one I could use as long as I brought it back. He even offered to help if I liked but because they were so busy I would have to wait for the lines to die down a bit. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. Excellent service guys great job. Ps. Amazingly good service! In the short time I was there, I saw: 1. A clerk help me find the exact thing I was looking for, even after we agreed it was not where it 'should' be. Ten minutes later, we were able to track it down. Not great stocking, but incredible initiative on the part of the cashier to jump from behind the register and look all over the store. 2. Another clerk sold a guy a brake light, and when, minutes later, the customer returned and said he couldn't get it to work, the clerk went out to the parking lot and helped him install it. And not just that, but he went through a few checks to ensure that the install did not interfere with any other electrical system! So, hate on the area if you will--it's not the best by Seattle standards--but the folks who work long hours here seem to really take pride in their jobs and want to go above and beyond to help folks (and their prized cars) out! read more

I needed a battery and they were quite helpful. Just bring it back and we give you $12.00 refund/recycling whatever. I hate having to do this, but a week later I struggle into the store to carry a battery trying not to damage my clothes with one hand. Why? ... because I have a broken wrist. But will they take the f*@#ing battery no because I don't have the paperwork. I bought it with a credit card surely you have some record less than one week ago, and what difference does it make; your getting the battery, obviously they are worth something or you would not want them back. Do you think I sling battery around with a broken wrist for fun or because I want to take you for 12 dollars? I wouldn't buy a bloody air freshner from you. read more

Customer service here is horrible. I received same product as a gift and they refused to take it back. The no refund policy is not explained when you buy a gift. I will never shop here again. The store has had some recent upgrades and cleaning up (I think). I get general parts there and it is pretty nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Place is clean and shelves are nicely faced. Have to admit I used to be a mechanic so I know exactly what I want etc, and make life easy on them. They have a nice stock of autobody supplies. Also have lawn mower supplies like air cleaners and "make it start after winter" stuff for the gas tank. Think they have a better stock on these things than other o'reilly's in the area. read more

I had to get parts to clean off my battery in my car because I was having problems but couldn't find the problem and thought I would start there. Once I got the product I needed I went to check out and Dave was there to help me. Right away Dave told me I didn't need battery cleaner and if I had time he could show me his secret that melts away the corrosion on the terminals. I purchased everything else I needed from him and then I met him outside by my car. I didn't wait long before he comes out with a little cup of coffee and when I opened my hood he noticed right away another problem I had with my car. Before doing anything he told me I could fix the other problem fast and easy and its just one part that was cheap. I was blown away by what he just said to me, I already had it planned out in my head to get my car worked on in a shop and who knows how much it would of been instead it was one part costing me $26.00. After showing me how cool using coffee instead of everything else he then cleaned the residue off with water and didn't leave me with something to clean up. I was blown away by the service I received by Dave, he mentioned it was kind of bad to tell me not to buy battery cleaner but he felt if he can provide better customer service, why not. I let Dave know, letting me know of a cheaper and easier way to do something is better customer service and that is what is going to make me always come back to this shop for my car needs. Hopefully I always get to deal with Dave because he cares to go the extra mile and makes me leave more confident than I was about working on my car and he was right, The part I bought was easy to install and it saved me a ton of money! read more

Let me start with saying I don't know jack about cars. I don't pretend to know anything about cars. With that said when ever I go into auto parts stores I always feel outta place and the people act like I'm the dumbest person in the world because I don't know what kind of oil to put in my car. NOT THIS PLACE I walked in on a dark and dreary rainy Friday morning, on the hunt for window wipers for my car. My boyfriend and I tired to figure it all out on our own, Im an adult I can find windshield wipers for my own car right? Well after being confused I finally asked the lovely lady behind the counter for some help. She explained the differences, why some were SOOO much more money and which ones were on sale. She also helped us figure out what sizes we needed for my car. After we paid, she offered to help us put them on our car!!!! She came out into the storm and helped us change our wipers and took our old ones to throw out for us! Best customer service at a car parts store in a very long time. What a painful experience. It's as if they have no clue what they are doing. They need a line for people to just check out instead of waiting in the long line at the parts counter. The line is 10 people deep and only two employees work the parts counter and answering the phones. Not very good customer service. Sold me the wrong parts! Bother. They sold me Subaru Impreza CV axles for an automatic, which won't fit in a stick. The splines are different. The mechanic had it half installed. One word - GUSTAVO!!! I went into O'Reilly because I couldn't get my old battery out of my car (old, rusty engine). I asked if someone could help me and Gustavo instantly hopped out and installed my battery for me - free of charge. He was so nice, pleasant and cheerful throughout the whole process. I also needed pricing on a starter for my CRV and he looked that up for me as well - giving me several options and great advice! In addition - they gave me a $10 gift card for my old battery (usually they give a core refund but that had already gone through - since the battery had been purchased earlier for another car). Um, big boo to O'Reilly. Been here a few times and each time the customer service has been crap. The couple of guys I've talked to seem to just be retail clerk types and don't really seem that knowledgeable about car repair or even their inventory. I was looking for some cargo mats and they told me if it's not on the shelf they don't have it. Didn't bother to look anything up or see if it can be ordered. I gave them a fair shake by stopping in 3-4 times but I'm done. Found a much better auto parts store in either Roxbury Complete Auto Parts or Carquest. read more

The folks at this particular O'Reilly are slow and methodical (kind of like every other parts store I've ever been to), but they are the same with me as they are when I am waiting, they will take their sweet time looking it up until they get the right answer for you. Despite being a customer to either this or the Autozone in the same area of White Center, and in general having somewhat 'OK' experiences over the years since when I moved into the area back in 1996, the current batch of store clerks' reputations are being dragged down by their training and inability to think outside of the box. I've spent quite some money over the years here as I've restored various rarer vehicles, such as old Land Rovers. Most recently, yesterday I turned up merely for an O ring for an old MGB which was a specific size, which I could figure out by fitting them in the slot. The clerk insisting on asking which car it applied to. I responded that this was not a manufacturer part as these are specifically part of a self contained kit of parts, and the original manufacturer specified a cork gasket despite the aftermarket parts places use instead an o ring as an improvement. So in other words I just needed to fit a generic O ring to a part I brought into the store. The clerk "Derek" couldn't get past their training insisting on the vehicle year and model. Frustration ensued. This is not rocket science, and I didn't have time for the clerk to yield the same results as per their website. These cars are 30 years old and Oreilly carries hardly anything in their stores or from the depot compared to specialists like MossMotors. After a minute or so or discussion I asked for the manager. The clerk clearly wasn't willing to cooperate. The clerk continued to hound me for information about the vehicle instead of helping me with the box of generic o rings. He became more dismissive and aggressive. I started opening the box of O rings and came threats of " if you open it, you own it ". $6. Big deal. I just need to find one that fits. It's not difficult. I found one and the clerk is losing it at that point, abandons me and services another customer who decides to start backing the Oreilly clerk's. I finally get him back, pay for the O rings and some other items, while the other customer is starting to throw unsavoury comments towards me. This whole encounter could have been much simpler if the clerk would just listen to the customer. Looking up the vehicle is not always the solution. I spoke with the manager there minutes later. They said they could have sized up the part and selected a specific O ring. So the manager actually had some common sense but this didn't rub off on the staff. If in doubt, go to Tacoma Screw, or other places for your parts. Oreilly continues to staff their locations with under educated and "by rote" training policy that hurts their staff's ability to actually help solve customer problems. Really disappointed that this is one example of the ongoing problem with these stores. I have to make a special mention to the Rainier store of Oreilly however. They actually have a couple of smart folks to actually understand what the customer is after. I'll be dealing with them instead if I have to. read more

Went to find a part to take the roof rack off our car. Gus went out to the car with us. Looked at it and took the racks off for us. He went above and beyond for us.
