Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

My wife's vehicle was having issues where it would not start intermittently. We thought it was the starter, but Ulysses at AutoZone informed us about a much cheaper relay switch, saying he had experienced the same issues. Jade was extremely helpful and supportive. When we had trouble locating the relay, their personnel entered the parking lot and installed it for us. Every time we patronized that store, the staff was cheerful and helpful. I stated that Yelp said they open at 730. She said yes but our manager is running late. How freaking unprofessional. It wasn't even like 5 minutes late which maybe could be forgiven. Waste of time. I like this place. They have chicks that work there. The guys that work there don't treat me like I don't know what I'm doing with my car because I'm a chick. I bought a dent popper for $5 and when I used it for the first time I saved one of our salesmen from getting chewed out about a dent that the "car wash" put on our company truck. Occasionally I do have ask one of the employees for help finding a certain item because they stock the store in a somewhat odd way, but they always help me as promptly as possible and know exactly where everything is (even if the Virgo in me says it doesn't belong there). read more

My battery died late Saturday night a few weeks ago. I spent a fair amount of time researching different places hoping to save a few dollars. Upon finding no significant differences in pricing between shops, and discovering that most places were closed on Sunday, I chose to go down to White Center to Autozone. I was greeted very promptly, I told the employee my car's make, model, and engine type and he quoted all three of the options of varying price points as I saw on their website, but not before he hooked something up to my battery to confirm it was dead and not just in need of a charge. I appreciated that he didn't try to deceive me into buying a more expensive product. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the employee was a little lacking in product knowledge. When he was going over the different options he couldn't explain to me what made the more expensive batteries better. He told me it was a different kind of battery and it was better, but there was no further explanation. I bought the least expensive option. I am the first to admit that I am exactly a stereotypical female when it comes to cars- I know next to nothing. I fully appreciated them not taking advantage of that fact. I may have taken advantage of my damsel in distress card, and they happily installed the battery for me! read more

Worst customer service I've ever had and I have gone to this store on a few occasions and only when Ive had no other option. I have yet to receive any resemblance of good customer service. Its pretty bad when you know the guy behind the counter is trying to BS you. You know more about cars in general than the guy your talking to and telling you they're not mechanics. But, I'm not either.... He asks you several times what kind of car you drive and you've already told him twice and he's input that into the computer... Really? All the employees are extremely friendly and ready to help find whatever product you need, helped use the code reader to figure out what's wrong with my car and also put the windshield wipers I purchased on and showed me how to do it myself for the future. I came in for a replacement light bulb and Darren Atwood actually gave me different options and explained the differences (I never even knew there's that there are different features for better visibility) . Having Woman employees and manager helps tremendously the staff is always helpful and friendly. They will price match pretty much anything and always have what I need in stock. My car rear brake light went out , I walked into the store and was immediately greeted and helped by Nicholas the store manager. He found the replacement bulbs and promptly rang up the item, I completed the transaction with my card. I didn't know how to install the bulbs and asked for his assistance, he walked out to my car, opened up the bulb casing, removed the burned out bulb and installed the replacement I started the car and turned on the lights, replacement didn't turn on he went back into the casing and fidgeted, then flipped the bulb, presto and there was light! read more

I love this place! I went here yesterday because my battery was dead, I had a neighbor jump it then went there to buy a battery. The guy that helped me, I think his name was Herderson or something kinda odd like that, spent probably an hour or better testing my battery, my alternator, cleaning off my old battery, installing a new one, etc. Awesome customer service. So I know its in White Center, but I had an awful time here yesterday. I walked in with a buddy with a backpack on to buy some Seafoam engine cleaner, since Autozone is the only place locally that carries it. We purchase the product and head for the door...the alarm goes off. 3 employees come over, and we stop. It appears my backpack, which hasn't been off my back, is the cause. I stop and empty my pockets, and open up my backpack VOLUNTARILY for search, and the woman, who has an assistant manager tag on pipes up "Well it didn't go off when he came in." Usually not such a big deal, but I had already volunteered to a search. I hope she learns to shut her fucking mouth next time. I know its White Center,l but do criminals really stop and agree to a search? I guess I feel irked that this is the first time I have ever been accused of theft passively or otherwise. If she hadn't said anything, no issue. If you want to be a manager, act with restraint, especially with a cooperative "suspect." read more

I went to the store early in the evening to get license plate lights. I needed help installing the lights and they told me that they could not help me because it was after dark. So I attempted to install them myself and lost them both inside of the battery housing and still had to drive all the way home with no license plate lights risking a ticket. Thanks read more
