I do a fair amount of home auto repair. This has been my go-to store for well over 20 years. Recently (2 weeks ago) I returned a NAPA Legend auto battery that was not needed, as a 2 year old NAPA Legend battery that was in the vehicle took a reliable charge. The return transaction was completed as expected without issue. After 1 week the refunded amount of $169.00 had not been credited to my card. I called the store and provided the transaction# and inquired about my credit. I was abruptly told the store had done their job and to take it up with my bank. Instead of checking the status of the transaction, I was essentially told to go pound-sand. I am now having to dispute the original transaction with Chase, which will likely take weeks and at this point I'm out $169.00. Therefore, I will never go to this store again and I'm informing like minded home mechanics about my experience. There are plenty of other auto parts stores with better prices, staff and customer service. So much for store loyalty -- Adios Hudson Street NAPA Auto Parts! read more

Napa definitely has higher quality parts than Schmucks; the clerks tend to know more about automobiles and their respective parts. I usually buy my more important replacement parts here. This Saturday I had a snarly clerk (A***e) give me a bad time about returning my 6mth old battery, well within the 3 yr warranty, and with a receipt. Since this battery didn't immediately pop up on her screen as the most common replacement for my vehicle, she assumed that I purchased the wrong battery. Well they didn't have any problem selling me that battery that costs twice as much as a basic replacement to begin with. I wanted the most stout, rugged battery that I could buy for the application. Awful customer service, I wasn't going to write a review until I saw I wasn't the only one that has had issues. The two guys working were watching tv ignoring the customers (well two of us) that walked in. James was the man who helped me out and continually talked down to me, but when my partner walked in he started putting blame on me"I told her so she didn't listen to me" attitude for no reason. Even after I was paying the employee did not acknowledge my existence, he was giving my partner the receipts to take and sign when I had paid with my card. This business needs a reassessment of whom they are employing, as I can see this happens often. It's maybe be better if they were helpful, but that is not the case. read more

I needed a car battery, Costco didn't have my size and they were pretty close so I checked it out, they had the battery I was looking for reasonably priced. They charged me a $18 core charge deposit for the return of a battery. Took it home and swapped out my battery. Returned the dead one and got my deposit. Pretty painless. read more

This crew has moved down a couple of streets, to 2nd, and their attitude has gone from bad to worse. I made the mistake of trying to return one of their notoriously bad automotive batteries, after it lost its charge before even being put into the car. Nothing but snarls, insults, and "there's nothing wrong with it." I finally just said, " keep it" and sacrificed the core charge I would have received at some other place. Too bad. Your average auto parts store. The employees tend to know more then Shucks or Autozone and the parts are usually better quality. I usually try to go there before one of the others but sometimes they just don't have a big enough stock of parts to keep me from driving to Shucks. I needed a headlight bulb for my newer VW and they didn't have ANY. I am picky about headlights as I like to see the road and usually buy the expensive ones but they did not even have a basic bulb to keep me legal : ( On the plus side you can pick up used coveralls there and a lot of things for commercial vehicles. When needed something for one of the work trucks we have never been let down. I will keep going there for things as I know they can't have all the parts all the time. read more

Just left empty handed for my 3rd consecutive trip to find out that "your parts order didn't meet the cutoff time" after I confirmed it in fact made the cutoff the day before. I would love to be able to give this store my business, but it seems that they are doing everything in their power to make sure that does not happen. What a joke, went in with a battery ask them if they could check and try to charge it if necessary. The employee (Michael I think) took the battery in the back then returned 15 minutes later and said it was bad. I asked him if he could try putting it on their charger and he said they "only charge NAPA brand batteries". There's no way that is NAPA's policy, I managed an Auto Parts store and work in the trade and have never seen such a lazy, anti customer service driven company. O'Reily, Autozone, Advance, any other competitor in the area actually cares about customer service. AVOID NAPA! read more

Do you need yet another review to convince you that these folks have absolutely zero concept of customer service? Well, here you go. Not only did their starter fail after four weeks, requiring approximately 8 hours of labor to remove and replace twice (it's hard to access) not to mention stranding me across town at night, but they wouldn't even do a full exchange of all the parts necessary to replace it. They made us re-buy the one-use gasket kit. Like somehow this was a scam and we were just out to collect free $15 gaskets. Everyone was like "Whatever. Rules. No manager here." They finally contacted someone who said nope, gotta pay again. Hope they realize how expensive that $15 was, because we for sure aren't going back. Happy to pay for OEM parts that last and not deal with these infuriating jerks and their crappy product ever again. read more

Wow. I wasn't going to whine on yelp until I saw the other reviews. For me it was Andrea on Saturday who very unpleasant to me when I had to return a jack that I felt was unsafe. I understand her concern about questioning my intent when I purchased it (was I just getting a free rental?). I was made to feel like I had personally insulted her. Actually tossing the receipt and the pen to sign it with was a nice touch. If management is reading this...maybe Andrea works in the back where she can hate on customers without actually driving them off, like she did me. The lady working the phone on Sat 6/9/2012, 2pm sucks! She kept me on hold TWICE for 30 mins. WTF was she doing? Anyway, I trek down there and find that the reason why they are so slow is -they are not familiar with their products, what they do and whether they even have them and if so, where. - as a result, they cant really recommend anything, if you ask them if they have xyz in stock, they need to look it up in a catalog, and even if they do, be prepared to wait 15 mins while they look for where it is. Apparently NOT closed as of 6/4/16, but may as well be. My guess is that this store delivers a lot of parts to local shops and does need business from individuals like me. At any rate, do not go here if you want to know anything about the products you are buying. Do not go here if you want to buy things from people that respect you. Doing full brakes and suspension on a 2000 4Runner and 2006 Tundra this weekend. So, my sale was to be two sets of rotors, two sets of drums, two sets of pads and shoes and two hardware kits and 8 struts/shocks. Started with rotors: The lady at the counter does not know the difference between the Premium rotors ($36) and the Ultra Premium ($61) except that one is 'higher quality'. I asked, higher quality in what way? ...I don't know. Can you look it up? ...It doesn't say on our system, but it has the information on our website. Can you look on your website? ...No, we only have this system. Does it say that one is slotted or drilled? ...It doesn't say. Do you have both of them in stock? ...Yes. Can we look at them to compare them? (silence). Okay, I will look it up on my phone. Your website lists 'regular duty' and 'super duty' not Premium and Ultra-premium. Is that the same thing? ...I don't know. If you can't tell me the difference and can't look it up and can't help me look it up, I may as well buy this stuff online. (silence). So, I go out to my truck and on the way I see another employee, a large man filling the washer/wiper fluid on what appeared to be his own vehicle. I asked, is there someone here who knows about the brake parts you sell here? (without looking up) What about them? ...The difference between 'Premium' and 'Ultra-premium'? ...One is better quality. With respect to what? Are they made from different steel? ...No. So what makes them better? One has 'more material'. I see, so how much more material and where is the extra material? ...You could get a micrometer and measure them. Okay, you just lost my business forever, thanks for nothing. read more

Our cars low oil light came on so I found this location as the closest NAPA to us. I'm paralyzed so my wife went in to purchase oil and new wipers since it was that time. Great parts for the most part. The batteries suck especially the marine batteries! You buy top grade and return it due to being bad 6 months later and they charge you 1/3 the original cost due to "Pro-rated" charges. What the heck! Just don't buy a marine battery at NAPA that has a good warrany and expect to get what you pay for! Negative rating!!!!! read more

I went to this Napa store because it was in my neighborhood and convenient, but I won't be going back. Their inventory is generally poor and the employees seem miserable and are extremely unhelpful--one grudgingly sold me the wrong fuel cap after I asked for his help. I went to the parking lot to try it for size and discovered it was wrong, but by the time I went back one minute later they had quickly closed the store and refused to open the door to correct their mistake. Just punching the clock at precisely 6pm without a care for customer service at all... Go somewhere else unless you're desperate. read more

The NAPA store on S. Hudson St. (which is in fact open, but has moved just a short distance away) in Seattle either lies, misrepresents, exercises incompetence, or simply does not care about its customers. The store sold me a small, $25 item, for my 2005 Silverado pick-up, assuring me it was the proper part. I took it home, installed it, and naturally threw away the parts box and receipt. When I learned two weeks later from my certified auto mechanic the part did not fit my truck (in fact, was not even close to the proper fit), I returned to the NAPA store on S. Hudson and was promptly informed they could not help me because I had neither receipt nor parts box. The woman/manager sitting in her chair, who did not bother to stand up or engage me, seemed incredulous that a customer given assurances by a "parts professional" would not have kept a parts box and receipt two weeks post-purchase. I have recommended to friends, and will continue to recommend to friends and others, that they avoid this store. read more
