They didn't have the part we needed (just a bolt), but they were helpful by calling around to other parts places in town for us. While I was waiting for my husband to get back from wherever it was that had the bolt we needed, out 1 year old son had one of those low blood sugar, tiredy boy melt downs when I wouldn't let him play with the jack that was holding up the van. I don't like the thought of my son dropping a van on his head. The manager, Brent, was kind enough to come out and distract my son and gave him a monster truck hot wheels to play with (instead of the jack). What a life saver. Then at the end of it all when we were trying to clean ourselves up with baby wipes they offered us use of the bathroom to get all the grease off out hands. Kids and hydrocarbons aren't a good mix. Especially when they're putting their hands in their mouth all the time. While they didn't get our money and we were *those* people camped in the parking lot with our car jacked up for most of the day, they were kind people and helpful. [Price Range] -- $20+ [Services] -- they can replicate car keys and key fobs, install batteries in your car, repair phones, and a bunch more. [Location]-- located very close to the super busy Tacoma Mall area. The parking area is very small-- only having 4 or 5 spots, so it can be a pain to get out when the area is busy. Other than that, the store is clean and there aren't any people loitering there. [Experience]-- the employees were pleasant to interact with. I needed a car key replaced and initially the associate wasn't sure their machine could replicate my car key due to how worn it was, so she refunded the programming fee and had me find someone to manually cut it. Fortunately, Home Depot's (they can also replicate most car keys even if they have transponders) machine replicated the key perfectly, so I came back to this location and she was able to use their software to program the key to my car. Overall, I paid $122 for them to do so. It's entirely possible to do this yourself if you order a kit or have two car keys, but considering I needed it done ASAP I am very grateful for this service and I don't think the price is that bad.

I went to Autozone where they looked at my battery and it was COVERED in acid. Like scary large amounts to the point the tech looked scared. He sold me one of their batteries for about $200 and told me they don't install batteries, so I had to go somewhere else. I went to Valvoline, where I usually get my oil changed. They also sell batteries. The tech here ran a test on the battery and told me that while the battery was entering end of life, it was actually the lead connection to the battery that was the problem and they couldn't help me. That's how I ended up at Battery X-Change. I called in advance to verify they could do the work, which they confirmed. I showed up the next day and they took my car immediately and said it would only be 30 minutes, which I was very pleasantly surprised about. They two gentleman removed the battery and lead, sold me a new one, built a new lead, and it all works perfectly. I had my dog with me, so we walked around for a bit. The waiting area does have a couple chairs and they have a popcorn machine (like the fancy old ones from the movie theater). The service here was excellent and the final price for all the work, the new battery with a 7 year warranty, and the new lead was less than the price of the battery I bought at the beginning of this issue. Definitely highly recommend!
