I went the unconventional way and decided to try a different battery not sourced from Apple instead of having another battery issue again- and to think about it, the phone isn't even 3 years old yet. I also didn't want to waste my time and visit a busy Apple Store full of nerds and stuff. I dropped off my phone and picked it up 2hrs later. No issues. It was working as I had expected it to and the capacity went back to 100%. Of course there's the nag screen that the battery is non-OEM which I don't care about- just as long as it gives me enough charge to last more longer than it previously did. Only time will tell how this new battery will perform. Their work is also back with a 6 month guarantee in which anything happens to the phone due to battery issues, they will address it. Peace of mind. Since I wasn't able to leave my phone on the original Tuesday when I brought it in, I decided to come back Saturday so I wouldn't have to leave my phone at the store overnight. After my car unexpectedly died over the weekend, I realized I was way overdue for a new battery, and initially thought to go to auto zone, but a friend said they'd overcharge me. So I went to this O'Reilly's because it was the closest to where I was that day. Dennis helped me find the battery I needed, gave me a discount through my company, and offered to install the battery. But it doesn't stop there. Upon taking my battery out he realized the issue was much more severe than I previously thought. My negative terminal had partially separated from the coils because it was so old (7+ years) and had been leaking a significant amount of battery acid...two inches of it to be exact was just sitting in the battery compartment. He could have sent me away, but he and Matt grabbed soda powder from the back and poured it all in the compartment to soak up the acid and then vacuumed it out. It took a significant amount of time that they didn't have to give me, but I was so incredibly grateful not just for Dennis's cleaning and installation of it but also taking the time to explain what was going on and what I should do in the future. They both were kind and did not talk down to me, as is common in the car-world to women, and this I almost appreciated more than anything. Matt even recommended a good mechanic to me who could take a good look at anything else that could have been affected. After Dennis was done soaking up and vacuuming up the acid, he installed the battery and sealed it with some grease, etc. I could not have had a better experience and will be driving out of my way (30+ minutes) from now on to visit this specific location next time I need something. *I live in Oregon, not Cali* I highly do NOT recommend this…read moreplace. I got my battery last year in June, and just recently found out my alternator is dead and so is the battery. It would not hold a charge and I had 3 mechanics tell me the battery was toast (and leaking) and that I needed a new one. I figured the warranty would still be an option so I brought it back to them only for them to say it just needed a 24 hour charge. They also told us that alternators don't charge the battery, which was one of the most stupid things I think I have ever heard. Honestly, I don't think you should be working at a battery shop if you don't know what the alternator does. Ultimately, I ended up having to buy a new battery from Costco because my car needed to be moved and they would not honor my warranty to give me a new one. I am now down $160 because of my new battery, have my toasted battery that supposedly charged "just fine" and "isn't leaking at all!" and shit out of luck. Again, I would not recommend getting a battery from a place that doesn't even know what an alternator does for your battery/car.

The staff at NW Battery couldn't have been more helpful. They ran tests to see how much of a charge my battery would take, and ultimately gave me a loaner while they put my battery on a more industrial strength charger overnight. I'm happy to say that they fixed my problem, and that they stand behind their products. I got great advice for maintaining the life of my battery, and I'm happy to have these folks serving SE Portland.
