Batteries Plus is a chain of stores that sells car batteries, light systems, bulbs, and other…read moresimilar items. [Price Range] -- $20+ [Services] -- they can replicate car keys and key fobs, install batteries in your car, repair phones, and a bunch more. [Location]-- located very close to the super busy Tacoma Mall area. The parking area is very small-- only having 4 or 5 spots, so it can be a pain to get out when the area is busy. Other than that, the store is clean and there aren't any people loitering there. [Experience]-- the employees were pleasant to interact with. I needed a car key replaced and initially the associate wasn't sure their machine could replicate my car key due to how worn it was, so she refunded the programming fee and had me find someone to manually cut it. Fortunately, Home Depot's (they can also replicate most car keys even if they have transponders) machine replicated the key perfectly, so I came back to this location and she was able to use their software to program the key to my car. Overall, I paid $122 for them to do so. It's entirely possible to do this yourself if you order a kit or have two car keys, but considering I needed it done ASAP I am very grateful for this service and I don't think the price is that bad.

Amazing how fast it was for me to get a fully working (almost like new) battery for my Acura CL and…read morecalled 2 others before this one so. Where i was coming from at the time I so Happened to be closer to the one in Milton and also called the one downtown Tacoma or one by the TacMall I can't remember now smh but it was so frustrating that everytime I try to start my car, before work after work and when id need to run errands at the store or go get groceries and coming out to a dead ass car is not the best of times but I'd be meaning to check them out after one of my coworkers had mentioned that they even existed esp since I really got no clue when it comes to cars and mechanics & such and guess wasn't much good for me that my dad always had been the one who I'd go to if my brakes went bad "needed changing" or tires were worn out/ popped on me so guess I should've been paying more attention when he was helping with that cuz let me tell ya I dint eve know how to check the pressure of my tire let alone put air in them shut that's bad now that i think about it omggg smdh So anyways i believe his name was Kevin who had said tht he did have a battery to fix perfectly in my car for just $77 (and not $200+tax for brand new like I think Costco's was) so 77bucks out the door for me & now every time I go to my car I'm so relieved it actually just starts up like a normal car like best feeling ever lol And the main reason why I did not want to give 5stars is because when I pulled up, me & my friends had got done eating some Chinese food we had to eat for lunch & so my friend had waxed their plate of food & asked me to throw their ONE to go box in the trash can we had seen right out in front in the garage we were parked right up front of so when I asked our battery guy if that was okay ...(me being polite) he literally said no I wasn't able to throw my trash away & because I guess that so many ppl were like I guess throwing their trash out there but it was literally 1 damn to go box and so I had to bring it back n give my friend to hold onto it till we actually had got to throw when was getting gas smdh *They would probably have got the whole 5 starS if he had just abit better customer service(or whatever it's called) than that that we had got..

Chad had my old battery out and the new battery in within no more than 5 minutes! Told me I had a warranty and the price point was amazing! You don't see genuine people like him very often, he was focused on getting a solution to my problem but alongside this he was very genuine. He wasn't just focused on the work but focused on the customer and getting to know me! This makes a big difference for me, and for that he gets 5 stars! I'd recommend this place a thousand times over!

The service was very quick, but the pricing and communication were quite bad…read more I went in to have the battery I had purchased four years ago checked. I'd been going to this store for a very long time, but it had a new manager. The manager attached a meter to the battery very quickly, which I appreciated. I didn't see the meter, and he didn't explain anything, just, "Yep, it's bad." He gave me the replacement price, which was high, but I decided to go ahead and have it done. I asked about the warranty, and he said it was five years. I said, "Does my current battery have the same warranty?" "Yes," he said, "You bought it here." "So, am I due some pro-rated discount because this battery failed early?" "I can give you 10%" "Hmmm," I'm thinking, "I'd have thought 4 years out of 5 would be a 20% discount," but I didn't know how they prorate, so I let it go. When he rang up the sale, he forgot the discount. I asked about it, and he said he could give me a slip of paper for an extra core charge when I come back to replace this battery. This was because it was "too hard" to run the sale over again. He scribbled on the back of a business card and initialed it. (It is pictured below.) Of course, I'm thinking, "So I have to hang on to this piece of paper for four to five years and come back here for another battery because you made a mistake and are too lazy to run the transaction over again?" He caught my look and said he could run it again, but he was "just trying to save me money because running a credit, and a new sale would be two or three transactions, and the card machine charges me $2.50 every time it runs a card, so I would end up losing most of the rebate." I'm thinking, "Huh?!" All this is happening at high speed, I feel pressured, and so I decide it's not enough money to hassle over, and I'm not up for the fuss. So I end up paying the full (high) price and have to keep track of what I think is likely a worthless piece of paper that won't be honored even if I just happen to be in the right place at the right time when I need a new battery sometime in the future. Nah, not gonna happen. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed, feel poorly treated, and slightly deceived. I won't go back to the store and will not recommend it to others, which is kind of sad because I've been going there for so long (when it had a different manager). Oh, well, life goes on, and it's not enough money to worry about, but the principles involved were worth mentioning. There, I got that off my chest, and I feel better now. :-) Thanks for being my online counselor! LOL.
