I stopped in Budget Batteries in hopes that they had what I needed. It was a long shot since I have 27 year old Japanese import. I hadn't even gotten out of my car yet when I was greeted. I asked if they had a battery for "this", and he said, "I sure do!" I said I would need new terminals, and he said that would be easy. He started to explain something, but I (probably rudely) interrupted him and said, "Do what you gotta do, because I can't start it without a jump". He said, okay, and started grabbing what he needed. The battery is located under the passenger seat, which is on the left side of my right-hand drive vehicle. He had to work inside the car to change out the terminals and place the new battery. He took care not to make a mess, picked up all the cuttings, and fixed my seat and carpet. I had to have the same service done to my other JDM vehicle. I went to the Tacoma shop that time. The battery is under the hood of that one, so less work. Great service there, too; however, Puyallup service was $20 cheaper. Before I left, he asked if he could take a picture of my vehicle. You're a lifesaver, Chad! Thanks so much for having what I needed, being so cool, and getting me back on the road within 20 minutes. *Side note: I read another review, and I feel like I have to say this. I'm a female and an islander. I didn't feel any discrimination or racism. read more

Budget Batteries - 99 Subaru Sambar Dias getting some new juice and terminals @ Budget Batteries in Puyallup, WA - Battery Stores Near Me - Puyallup, Washington

The service was very quick, but the pricing and communication were quite bad. I went in to have the battery I had purchased four years ago checked. I'd been going to this store for a very long time, but it had a new manager. The manager attached a meter to the battery very quickly, which I appreciated. I didn't see the meter, and he didn't explain anything, just, "Yep, it's bad." He gave me the replacement price, which was high, but I decided to go ahead and have it done. I asked about the warranty, and he said it was five years. I said, "Does my current battery have the same warranty?" "Yes," he said, "You bought it here." "So, am I due some pro-rated discount because this battery failed early?" "I can give you 10%" "Hmmm," I'm thinking, "I'd have thought 4 years out of 5 would be a 20% discount," but I didn't know how they prorate, so I let it go. When he rang up the sale, he forgot the discount. I asked about it, and he said he could give me a slip of paper for an extra core charge when I come back to replace this battery. This was because it was "too hard" to run the sale over again. He scribbled on the back of a business card and initialed it. (It is pictured below.) Of course, I'm thinking, "So I have to hang on to this piece of paper for four to five years and come back here for another battery because you made a mistake and are too lazy to run the transaction over again?" He caught my look and said he could run it again, but he was "just trying to save me money because running a credit, and a new sale would be two or three transactions, and the card machine charges me $2.50 every time it runs a card, so I would end up losing most of the rebate." I'm thinking, "Huh?!" All this is happening at high speed, I feel pressured, and so I decide it's not enough money to hassle over, and I'm not up for the fuss. So I end up paying the full (high) price and have to keep track of what I think is likely a worthless piece of paper that won't be honored even if I just happen to be in the right place at the right time when I need a new battery sometime in the future. Nah, not gonna happen. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed, feel poorly treated, and slightly deceived. I won't go back to the store and will not recommend it to others, which is kind of sad because I've been going there for so long (when it had a different manager). Oh, well, life goes on, and it's not enough money to worry about, but the principles involved were worth mentioning. There, I got that off my chest, and I feel better now. :-) Thanks for being my online counselor! LOL. read more

Budget Batteries is Top Tier! I came in need of a new battery, and Chad had wonderful customer service. From the moment I pulled in I was greeted, and asked what I needed. Chad had my old battery out and the new battery in within no more than 5 minutes! Told me I had a warranty and the price point was amazing! You don't see genuine people like him very often, he was focused on getting a solution to my problem but alongside this he was very genuine. He wasn't just focused on the work but focused on the customer and getting to know me! This makes a big difference for me, and for that he gets 5 stars! I'd recommend this place a thousand times over! read more

Amazing service. Our truck died during a car cruise, I wasn't sure their hours so called just to see if they could help. Someone answered offering any help possible, going to extra lengths to offer anything they could to get us home safe even hours after they officially closed. Although we ended up not needing anything from them, the service they provided was unmatched! Thanks so much for your concern and help you offered us! read more

I have bought a lot of batteries from Budget over the years, mostly at the Federal Way location. The prices are pretty good and they usually have plenty of stock on had to help you on the spot. The problem with the Puyallup location is the guy that is at the store is always a major A-hole. And, he is unreliable. Seriously, cocky, arrogant, abrasive, A-hole. Almost every time I go there on the weekend to buy a battery or have a battery checked that I bought, there is a hand written sign on the door saying closed early or I'm at lunch. 3 people sat in his parking lot for over an hour and he just never came back. He will also often open the store up a couple of hours late on Saturday morning. When I went back on Monday to get my battery checked since it went dead, he simply lied and said the sign yesterday said "closed today". This crap has happened the last 4 times I went there on the weekend. Just this last weekend I got there right as he was leaving at 1:40pm and he had hung a sign on the door saying "closing at 2pm today". When I asked him why he wasn't open for the hours on their website, he said he had things to do. And, he was an A-hole about it. I had to drive to the Tacoma location to get my problem resolved. How does this guy keep a job with an attitude like that. Whoever owns this store should find someone else. I would say avoid this place as long as he is there. You will know by the White and Black Dodge parked out front. read more

Had my battery die while I was across the street from them, walked over for assistance and the man that had "helped" me was rude, unhelpful, and told me if I wanted his assistance I had to push my car across the street for them to test my battery...REALLY? Went to Napa auto parts, they tested my battery, supplied me tools to replace it, and sold me a good product with exceptional customer service. Avoid Budget Batteries. read more

I had over priced quotes from other places my husband calls budget batteries and asks them how much it would cost? It was $90.00 cheaper. He then tells him the issues I was having with les schwab giving me quotes from $170. To $148. Within 5 min. I even called another les schwab and he quoted me at $190. Chad the owner said it's $88 and this will be the price for her when she come in. My husband let me know and I brought the van to him. Chad greeted me outside and said I'll install it now give me a moment. 4 minutes later I was paying him the $88.+tax and we were back on the road. He was quick, friendly, and honest. I'll definitely go back there again and I highly recommend him to others. Thanks Chad! read more

I went to BB in a Puyallup today for a battery for my Mazda CX-5 today and couldn't be more pleased! Chad explained that the original equipment battery, made by Panasonic, usually don't last more than 3 or 4 years. My Mazda is a 2015. He removed the old battery and showed me on his tester that it indeed was on its last legs. He then put the new replacement battery on the tester to show me the difference in what the readings should be. Chad was super efficient, polite, respectful and pleasant and the entire exchange took no longer than 15 minutes. Above all, I drove away with a new battery with a 5 year warranty for $110 with tax! No up-sell, no long wait, just great, hassle-free, friendly service and product! I'm a repeat customer of BB and will continue to enthusiastically recommend them to others! read more
