Kept hearing about Fado before I went to Lisbon so def had to check out this place. O Corrido in Lisbon is an incredible spot for dinner and Fado performances. There were four different performers, and each one was absolutely spectacular. The venue has an old theater vibe that probably adds to the acoustics. The food was also very good. I got the duck, and the meat was super soft and full of flavor. We went with the package that includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert, which was a pretty good deal. Like about 55 USD. Service was excellent throughout the night. Just be ready for a long dinner and show, but it's worth it.

Amazing food and an enjoyable fado experience! I came here because another fado restaurant didn't have availability for the night I wanted. They are cash only and I recommend reserving in advance. I got started with the Bulhão Pato Clams. These were so amazing, I wanted more after I was finished. Then I ordered the Pork Cheeks. The meat was tender and the mashed potatoes under were great. I would highly recommend both of these items. For dessert I got the Drunken Pear, but I wish I got something else. The pear was good, but it was just pear. I wish I got to try the other desserts. The place is pretty cozy. Tables are close together and fairly small. I had to crane my neck a bit to watch the fado. The performers were wonderful and impressive. You have a performance and then a long break and then a performance, etc... The people who ran the place spoke English and Spanish along with Portuguese. I forgot if they spoke French as well. I could communicate with the waiters in English and Spanish easily. Overall I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the service when I was preparing to leave. I wanted to leave after 2 hours since I had plans early the next day and other dinner guests were leaving. I asked the servers for the bill a few times, but it seemed like they forgot about me. After waiting for ~20 min the next and last performance of the day started which I had to sit through and bills weren't being brought out. At this time during the performance, it would be rude for me to go up and pay. And no one would be at the counter anyways since the lady was performing. Probably about an hour after I intended to leave, I could finally pay and I had to pay at the counter since no bill was brought out to me. However I'd give a 5/5 for the food and fado.

At first I was a little nervous that it was scheduled for 4 hours but immediately after getting our first course I knew it was going to be amazing. Between the food, staff, drinks, and entertainment absolutely no notes from me. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Portugal. Amazing talent.

I feel lucky to get a reservation 3-4 days beforehand. The restaurant could stand alone by itself. The food was amazing. It's a set meal, appetizer, main and dessert for $55, not including water or drinks. And on top of the great food and service, we watched soulful, engaging performances with 4 different sets/singers. Each singer performed 4-5 songs. The owner/musician also came by each table to talk to the guests and explain fado to us. It felt like a big party at a (musician) friend's house. I was in Lisbon with 4 other girlfriends and this was an amazing, memorable evening and the icing on the cake for our last night in Lisbon.

Octopus Salad & Blood Sausage

Fado experience was no question about it. 4 different singers, I believed one lady in her 20s, one in 40s, and one in 60s (?), and a man. Which gave a different and complete experience. The food, however, was pretty horrible. Apps- Blood Sausage - very oily and blood scent. Octopus Salad - chopped up pieces not satisfying. Entree- Seafood Rice - this one was pretty good. Steak - terrible quality, shouldnt have ordered this. Dessert- Both Chocolate Mousse and Deconstructed Lemon Pie recommended by our waitress probably were the two dessert you should NOT order. Ugh really want to love here since the review is amazing but the food just ruined it.

Octopus appetizer - very tasty!

Excellent experience in an authentic-feeling establishment. One would never know what is behind the doors and what a gem to be found. The food and service were very nice, and the Fado shows were heart-stopping. The host speaks multiple languages, which helps a ton! Definitely go for the 4-course option with wine pairings for each course. The whole experience was probably 3 1/2 - 4 hours, so don't go expecting a quick meal. It didn't feel rushed at all, quite the contrary. It was relaxing and very pleasant. Also, go knowing they only take cash, so bring enough! Paypal is another option, but no credit cards. Highly recommend O Corrido for a true Portuguese experience!

Our hotel recommended Casa De Fado for an authentic Fado experience- and that is exactly what we had! Be sure and reserve your table early in the day, because we saw several disappointed people turned away without reservations. The restaurant ambience is wonderful and the Fado performances intimate. There are really no bad seats. This is the first time I have heard Fado, and it was amazing how the singers voice projects without a microphone. Our dinner was delicious and quite affordable. The performers explained the concept of Fado to us . We learned that "Fado is FELT, not heard ". Yes, indeed.

This place cannot be recommended enough. It was an absolute joy to experience a night of great food and beautiful music here. They offer a fixed price tasting menu with a handful of choices for a starter, main (fish, meat, vegetarian), and dessert and everything we ordered was fantastic. The fado music was beautiful and you could tell how much the artists feel the music and lyrics they sing. The owner come around the tables in between sets for the singers to discuss fado with the guests and talk about their craft. They bring in multiple singers for the night and so you can really get a great range of voices and styles of song based on what the artist is feeling in that moment. It was far and away the best experience I had during my entire trip to Portugal. Do not miss out on a dinner and night here. If you can, plan on spending at least a few hours for dinner. The singing started 8-830pm and they would play 4 songs, and take a 30ish min break before playing again and I believe said they will play until around midnight, we left just a little before then.

The codfish dumpling fusion was a pleasant surprise, creamy on the inside and a nice chewy gyoza wrapper. The octopus rice was good too. A decent amount of octopus with rice in a smoked bell pepper sauce. I was disappointed by the seafood pasta soup though. I liked the mussels, but the shrimp and the clams weren't the freshest. The clams were a little mushy. It had a nice seafood stock flavor, but definitely could have used more salt and seasoning. We had mixed service from one of the female servers.

We started with a glass of wine and a specialty cocktail with gin and cherry liqueur as a base. Perfect balance of herbal and tart and sweet. We shared the amberjack ceviche which was fresh and bright and then the rich & creamy prawn risotto. All beautifully executed. We each ordered a glass of 20 year port to celebrate my birthday and the staff overheard and brought a complimentary rich chocolate dessert. Very enjoyable meal all the way around.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork. Jamie and I agreed we'd definitely come back if the passion for poultry strikes us on a return trip to Lisbon. In the meanwhile, I'll just do a run to Costco, buy a rotisserie chicken, and dream of Portugal. A small line of one or two groups at a time formed throughout the night. We were seated outside and there was a street performer with an acoustic guitar - def added some great vibes to the night. It was a chilly December night but the heater provided *just enough* warmth. We ordered the codfish cakes which were alright - nothing too special. Since it was a little cold out, I also ordered the chicken broth. It was bland, but good in its own way. There was some rice and chicken bits in it that tasted really good. The rotisserie chicken that they are known for was EXTREMELY salty. We were a group of 6 and ordered 2.5 rotisserie chicken (so 5 pieces) but this was actually way too much. It's a little better (but still salty) if you don't eat the skin, but that's the best part given how crispy it was! I tried to drown out the saltiness by using the piri piri sauce and it helped a little bit... but biting into the chicken meant biting into the undissolved salt bits. Given how salty it was, we could not finish it at all and left behind 3 pieces. Service itself was meh. They made sure to inform us that the tip was not included in the bill.

He will talk to you for hours and teach you about food and wine and culture and talk about the history of food and how it came to be in Portugal. I loved it. I learned so much. I aspire, as an American, to learn from and look up to other cultures. I feel very honored to have dined in a restaurant managed by him on our trip to Portugal. I'm going to recommend to our travel coordinator to add this restaurant to the Google map recommendations list because more people need to go to this place - they need more tables, more space, because I'm convinced this is such a hidden gem that should be exposed to the masses to enjoy! We visited several wineries and this restaurant had the best wine - bar none! The fish, a fish I hadn't tried before, was deliciously seasoned, falls apart with the fork, the creamy rice was just divine. I normally will never eat little cherry/grape tomatoes - ever - but the perfect bite of fish, creamy rice, and a tomato was... perfection. The menu is deeply curated; flavors - textures - wines that make sense. You can tell Frederico what you normally like and he 100% knows what wines he has that you will love. The tomato, orange, ham, salad, was absolutely balanced and delicious. I'm so grateful that our first trip to Portugal we got to meet Frederico and dine with these wonderful people who love food and wine as much as us. I'll never forget it as long as I live.
