Love this place! Went last night with my wife and 1 year old. 1.)They a great beer selection, bottle and draft. 2.) I ordered the Stakeout and it was awesome! The sandwich had steak with peppers, onions, cheese, bacon and a sauce that was incredible. My wife had salmon that was cooked to perfection and she said she thoroughly enjoyed it. 3.) What made the evening is that when my one year old started get restless, Alex the owner came over and gave her a firetrucks and helicopter to play with. She got so into it Alex joined her in playing with the toys. Alex made us feel so welcome and we all had a great time. I know my daughter had a great time and Alex made her laugh and smile. I was a regular customer there multiple times a week, I have never sent food back. I sent my $35 steak back because it was over cooked and was told I am not welcomed back. I was banned for sending the food I PAYED for back. Owner is rude and unprofessional does not care about loyalty only his pockets. My girlfriend was also mistreated. Probably the worst service in all of life. I mean, this is no one time experience. I'm talking based on at least ten visits. First off, the food is great. They have a great wing selection, as well as the taste to go with them. Their fries and other entrees are good as well...but dat service. There's a female bartender that clearly hates her life, because she is the most miserable human being to ever work behind a counter. She usually walks up to you, says "what do you want" with the most dead, crap attitude and that's it. Once you get your food prepare to never see her again. She just stays behind the counter and texts on her phone. As for the other ones, they're too busy being talkative with their other coworkers. No. One. Services. You. They just don't seem to care. There was once an altercation when a group of people sitting next to us decided to tip low. The female bartender goes to the table and asked them "what was wrong with my f'ing service. This tip is too low!" Meanwhile the people weren't hostile, or belligerent that night. They had no right to be questioned based on their tip. In other words, unprofessional joke of a staff they have. Well imagine my excitement when one of my best friends bought the place! Especially considering it is my friend with whom I've spent countless nights in bars, restaurants and at our places, eating and drinking - particularly beer, burgers and wings. I have great taste in wings (obviously), so of course my friends have great taste in wings! And I'm really not just saying this; the wings here a legit awesome! From the exterior you might write it off as a divey biker bar, but once inside and greeted by the amazing staff, you'll see that it's anything but. I've been here quite a few times with the family (my 3yr old loves the fire trucks and police cars decorating the dining room) and while I do enjoy many of the special sandwiches and burgers offered, their wings are probably the best in the area. The traditional, bone in style is cooked and sauced perfectly to give you all of the flavor with a bit of crunch. The sauce options are insane and you have plenty to choose from. You can even mix sauces and create your own. I recommend the honey mustard but that's just me. My only criticism would be to offer a portion smaller than 10 since sometimes you just want a few wings to go with your burger/sandwich. First time with the new owners. I originally was planning on a burger, but a plain burger (although it does come with fries, regular or sweet) was $10. Add $1 for cheese and $2 for anything else and your burger can quickly become $15 or more. Uh, no thanks. Then I spied Fish Tacos, another family favorite. They were $22. I finally ended up with a Kickin' Chicken Sandwich while my daughter had an iceberg wedge salad. We also split the Pig Skins appy. Good, but if my daughter didn't tell me there was pulled pork in them, I never would have known. We sat at a high top in the bar. Our waiter (the bartender) never came over to ask how our food was, but otherwise was attentive and usually available. Final words, too expensive for what I would normally expect from a pub. First, the decor in this restaurant is extremely dated and everything is dirty. I can't say the service is bad as we got no service. We were greeted by a very unfriendly young woman who turned out to also be the bartender and the waitress. She came to our table and put down two menus without looking at us or saying anything, including asking us if we wanted a drink. She then went back to the bar to talk with a man who appeared to be her boyfriend. She stood and talked with him for a while and we finally left. Based on our overall experience I'm sure the food is horrible The place was almost completely empty at lunchtime on a Saturday so it looks like others have had the same experience. We came here Saturday afternoon after hiking around Bear Mountain for a late lunch. The wings are AWESOME...not full of heavy breading and they are crispy! Our waitress was awesome, super friendly and she let me know they can customize the spiciness of your wings, even if it says hot (3 alarm) on the menu. I'm a spice wimp so I opted for the ranch wings with medium sauce. Apparently it's a pretty big jump in the spiciness level from medium to 3 alarm, but our waitress said I can always ask for the wings Medium with 3 alarnm sauce on the side. They get their desserts from Dream Cakes bakery right down the road and they're delicious! We split the pecan pie and ugh, so good. Not overly sweet and the crust was good as well (and I am NOT a crust person at all). Hubby got a burger and subbed in mac & cheese in place of the fries. Now I really enjoy their mac, but he wasn't overly impressed with it. That's okay...more for me! Their wings are really big and I only ended up finishing 5 of them (10 to an order). Since my family moved up to Westchester in 2001 we've been big fans of the Firehouse Grille, and so we are overjoyed that it has reopened and seems to be better than ever! So far I've had the steak sandwich with swiss cheese melted on top. This is not your typical steak-um sandwich, though. It is a full, 8oz sirloin steak merely perched on top of bread, swimming in its own juices, and perfectly tender so you can just pick it up and eat it--no knife necessary! Additionally, the side salad I had with my sandwich was surprisingly big, had a variety of lettuce and vegetables, and made me feel like I was counteracting whatever artery clogging I had just done. WIN. My boyfriend got a half rack of ribs and we were amazed at the juiciness and texture, as well as the wonderful tangy flavor they had. To boot, they give you cole slaw that is perfectly vinegary, and mini corn muffins that are warm and sweet. Really, you can't go wrong with whatever you order, though their pulled pork could use a spicier sauce in my opinion. This is really bad. Whoever wrote the menu and whoever cooks the food do not communicate. We expected eatable food especially since we ordered from the specials. First clue, the look on the bartenders face when I went to get a clean wine glass - he didn't see the dirt, gave me a semi hard time and gave me a new glass that he sarcastically wiped with a dirty rag. My wife was sure it was the same glass. The staff was helpful, but the food didn't even come close to the menu description. I ordered the special beef sandwich "piled high with beef and dripping with au jus sauce". It was totally dry, I asked for more sauce and was given enough jus to dip one half of the sandwich. My wife ordered fried chicken with white gravy (another special). From the menu description she was expecting succulent pieces and was served fried flattened chicken cutlets with some sort of cheese sauce (hope it was wrong sauce, because if that was white gravy, it had gone bad weeks ago). The staff was very helpful but overworked with two tables in the dining room. THIS IS A PLACE TO DRINK AND USE THEIR FOOD TO SOP UP THE ALCOHOL BEFORE YOU DRIVE HOME. We were excited and prepared to enjoy some barbecue as this place is local so we thought we would try it from what we heard through word of mouth. First of all, we ordered mild hot wings and received dry rub wings that tasted like they were a week old and fried in even older oil. The second item was pulled pork that also tasted old and reheated, not fresh, and not appetizing. The best part of the meal was the chocolate chip cookies and even they were just average. My 1/2 rack rib inedible dried on one end, so so in the middle...if ribs are a specialty here this half rack should not have made it out of the kitchen to be served. Went there for for takeout, We ordered 30 On the bone or Traditional Wings and 10 boneless wings. (which we made very clear to have the 10 Boneless) When the food came out we got ALL boneless wings, the gentleman who came out was very nice and understanding. He was willing to go back and fix the order. 2 minutes later the gentleman named Troy who took our order came out yelling at us and made us scared to even step out of the car. Saying that we ordered all of them off the bone. He told us that we could either take all of the wings as is Or we would get our money back for the Wings and take the rest of the food we ordered. We fought for all of our money back and which in the end we got. Very disappointed with our experience here considering the fact that we have been coming here for 20 plus years.
