I originally left a mixed review for this spot, because nothing about what they called a "patty…read moremelt" actually tasted like one. Instead, it was a massive amount of bread loaded with an overwhelming heap of mustard--though even that wasn't as overpowering as the heavy grease and grill-funk aftertaste it left behind. I ended up throwing away the basket meal with more than half left. Luckily, the owner replied to my review to educate me that my perceived 1/3-pound patty was actually a 6-ounce patty. Clearly, I just failed to appreciate the massive 0.6-ounce difference in those measurements. Point well taken. Hats off, sir. I'll politely decline your offer to ask for you personally next time (trust me, I won't be back) so you can lecture me on which of your generous 6-ounce burgers I might actually like. Having spent 41 years on this planet navigating the burger wasteland unassisted so far, I'm optimistic I'll get the hang of it. If you could perhaps channel some of that energy into teaching the kids on staff, they could share your passion for aggressively explaining to patrons why they are wrong to call your product overpriced, inedible, and completely devoid of quality. Now that is the real community impact you are going for. I am overwhelmingly positive and forgiving in my reviews, but this is one of the rare exceptions where I dramatically underestimated how low a business's rating should actually go. If you want to pay an exorbitant price for a terrible burger, only to be told it was supposed to taste that bad on purpose, definitely give these guys a go. Thank you for sharing your unique business model with the class, and for giving me the clarity I needed to update this to the solid 1-star you deserved from the get-go!

We watched people sing happy birthday w a giant slice of strawberry shortcake. Great portions! We ordered the judges plate and added the burnt ends along w a small side of sweet cream corn. The food! Cornbread was on point! Not grainy, overly sweet, or dry! Soft, not bitter. Champion beans are delicious, smoky, seasoned just right. Mac & cheese!!! OMG! It's just right!! Creamy, full flavor, and not bitter. Sweet cream corn, I mean, you should try it, ask for a small sample so you can decide! Burnt ends!!!! You cannot leave this place w/o trying them. We added it for an additional $4 and it was worth it! The brisket had a nice smoke ring, full of flavor. Soft and not dry at all! Juicy. The chicken fell off the bone. Tender. Well seasoned. The pull pork was perhaps my favorite. On its own it was delicious but adding some of the world champion sauce and the spicy sauce together just took it there!! Hands down, glad we made that turn and drove the extra 10m to this place on our way to California.

Honestly the sliced brisket left a lot to be desired and I do not think that it is the same product as the burnt ends. I am wondering if the burnt ends were from prime brisket and maybe the sliced brisket is from a lesser quality beef. That would make sense because the brisket burnt ends were absolutely divine and had lots of crispy bark that I just love. I was not really impressed by the bologna burnt ends and the mustard sauce. The bologna burnt ends lacked smokiness for me and I just did not enjoy the taste of the mustard (I normally love all mustards). So, let me tell you about the fried okra. I could eat a whole pound of that.....with ranch dressing of course. The finest fried okra!!!!!! We also loved the homemade pickles. I will always order homemade pickles if the option is available. These were great and we sure enjoyed the leftover bites! I would like to leave a little review that I think my little grandson would have left if he could type, use a computer and know all of his words. "I was really fond of the bbq beef but the standouts to me would have to be the mac n cheese and the championship bbq beans. In fact, I loved the bbq beans so much and got so excited that I put my forehead in the beans that my mommy put on my little child's placemat. After that all of the exursions of eating my food, playing with my food, flirting with our waitress and showing off my baby blues; I started yawning. I am not sure if it was the meat fatigue or the carb coma. Mommy and Daddy thought it was time to leave at that point and I agreed to cooperate as my bbq bean juice dyed hair was getting pretty sticky." I would definitely come in again and maybe try some other items. I would definitely get the prime brisket burnt ends again. Oh yes, AND THE OKRA and whatever my grandson wants, of course!

My friend suggested this place and specially burnt ends- which Ive never had before. Well this place did not disappoint. Its five star baby! I ended up getting a choose 2 plate which includes 2 meats and 2 sides. I did have the burnt ends and turkey; brussel sprouts with carrots and fried okra. Everything was delicious, the brussel sprouts had no bacon (which is plus for me). The one and only thing I would say is a little more flavor on the fries okra... but thats just me. Put some salt on it a keep it moving. Now they had some corn muffins that were good but huney let me tell you about the butter with the jabanero jam! Wow, wow, wow! The service was great from everyone but special shout out to Matt who was patient and kind even tho we were one of those annoying people who came in less than an hour before close. Looks like they have outdoor seating as well. If I lived here- this would deffinately be my go to.

Meat was falling off the bones and flavored to perfection. Comes with two sides - I got the above mentioned jalapeño corn bread & greens beans. Came with an unapologetically absurd amount of butter - aww, they know my love language. My favorite part is the chewy, sweet pieces of corn they add to the batter. Reminds me of Jiffy... IYKYK. Now the sauce - IMO Texas bbq style. Bold, red and perfect balance of sweet & tang. They allow 2 choices so I selected spicy and regular. Both highly recommended. Lastly, I tacked on a side of their green cabbage slaw; it couldn't be skipped. It indeed is green, has a great crunch and not too creamy. Overall - fantastic flavor, quick service & quality ingredients. My brother is a huge fan of ribs so you better believe I texted him pics to bait him into visiting soon. I ordered takeout this time but we'll visit the restaurant when he comes to town!
