Tried Wings and Things in Yukon this week and had a decent experience. The ambiance was nice and the staff was super friendly. The hot buffalo wings were very, very good--crispy with a nice kick, I will definitely be getting those again. The Parmesan garlic wings didn't really have any Parmesan or garlic flavor, so they just tasted like plain fried wings. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. I also got a po' boy but didn't realize the crab was imitation. I'm not a fan of artificial crab and the flavor was off for me. If you like artificial crab I'm sure it's good, but it's just not for me at all. I would definitely go for the shrimp po' boy next time. One of the best things I tried was the yam cake, which is like a pound cake. It was really good and definitely something I'd order again. Overall, the experience was a mix. I ate 3 of the lemon pepper because they at least tasted like they had some salt. Everything was cold. It's difficult for us to turn down wings but these went in the trash. The chicken is just your average frozen chicken wings but they fry each order as it comes in so it's always fresh. That makes a big difference in taste compared to other places that keep it in a warmer for a while. They have several flavors of sauce and you can get them on the chicken or in a cup to dip the chicken in. My favorites are lemon pepper, garlic parmesan and orange sesame. The fries are battered and then fried and so delicious. I mix BBQ and ranch together to dip the fries in mmhmmm! My absolute favorite thing is the potato salad. It's a mix of mayo AND mustard potato salad. I can't ever get enough when I order from here. I was disappointed in the banana pudding and the yam cake. The banana pudding is nothing more than instant pudding with a couple slices of bananas and a few vanilla wafers. I went there one night just for the pudding after hearing so many people praising it. It took over 10 minutes for them to get it ready. The pudding wasn't very cold so I am assuming they mixed it right then. I like my pudding to be ice cold and the wafers to be soft from where they have been in the pudding for a little bit. Neither was the case with this and for the small amount they put in the cup, it was very expensive. The yam cake had a decent flavor to it but it was very dry and it didn't have the icing on it, it was just a small dollop on the side of the container. But those two things aren't enough to keep me away. I thought their rolls would be like a dinner roll with philly cheesesteak in them but they are actually egg rolls with either buffalo chicken or philly cheesesteak in them. Wings: 3/5 I tried the garlic parm wings the first time. They were strangely gritty. I think they use garlic powder or garlic seasoning instead of real garlic. The sauce just didn't work for me. The second time, we ordered mild wings. They were better than the garlic parm, but they didn't blow my mind. Catfish Po'Boy: 3/5 I loved the catfish part of the sandwich. It was perfectly cooked, warm, and crispy. But the bread to catfish ratio was off. There was way too much bread. They either need to scoop out some of the middle of the bread or add more catfish. I ordered it with a side of potato salad that I did not like at all. It was partially blended with small chunks of potato. This place isn't good at all. Let's start with Lemon Pepper wings- they're breaded fried wings with lemon pepper seasoning all over them, not good. French fries are some type of natural cut, not good. Catfish was heavily breaded and hard. The catfish looks good but it's not at all. And lastly the ranch dressing. I gave it 2 shots and just can't. The first time I tried them was Super Bowl Sunday and they just weren't ready to handle the demand so I gave them another chance and was equally disappointed. Firstly, you can order by phone or online. It seems if you order online you will get served first and if they give you a time frame when the wings will be ready. Just go ahead and tack 20-30 more minutes on that. The wings are subpar at best, most definitely not worth the wait. Awesome place!! A friend recommended this place and I am so glad I tried it! I now have a new favorite place for wings and it's close to my house!!! The owners are husband and wife that were working tonight when I went in. They were very sweet people! They are proud of their community and are excited about their business. Wings are fried in batter that soaks up most of the sauce, so they taste less wet than Buffalo Wild Wings for example. Like it's been mentioned before, they don't start cooking until you order. We have called in an order and we have also stopped in and ordered at the counter. I should've known better, but I always like to give places a fair shake. The place is located in a shopping center next to a 7-11. I would've been better off getting a ham sandwich there instead. The wings were unimpressive to say the least. Your average frozen wing dumped in the fryer. Got the hot sauce and garlic ranch. I ate one of each and decided I'd rather eat dirt. I had to add some real hot sauce to the "hot" and the ranch was just I don't even know. Also got an order of the quesadilla rolls and they were bland with a hint of freezer burn. I'm a doordash driver and when you except an order you can't see any of the details besides what food they buy, so I clicked except I get there and I noticed that you're supposed to bring your DoorDash bag as a requirement for this place but it is not mandatory for any DoorDash person to wear the shirt or to have any of the DoorDash bags. Came in to try it for the first time today while on business in Yukon. Everything was made fresh to order, which I love, I'm not a fan of heated by heat lamp fast food. The owner was extremely pleasant, and he treated us the way we all expect to be treated at a restaurant.
