My husband and I hired Cutting Edge contracting after deciding between two roofing/siding companies…read morethat were very comparable. We went with Cutting Edge because Joe was very personable and seemed to have a down to earth, low pressure approach. We felt really good about our decision until the job started to progress. We hired them for roofing, gutters, siding, along with a few add ons to fix framing and such. During the whole process Cutting Edge was doing the work our interior was also getting remodeled so our whole house was down to studs and subfloor so we had a pretty clear view of all the work they were doing. The roofing came first which was chosen to be done at a terrible time. We happened to have an atmospheric storm after the shingles were removed and although it was supposed to be wrapped tight for no leaks we had SEVERAL! I am talking water dripping on my head in the middle of the night. Probably a total of 10 areas throughout my house that leaked. We had to have them come a minimum of 4 times for serious leaks. They were very responsive to that and did come as soon as they could so that was a positive note. We had to point out several errors that were made along the way as well, such as forgetting to do the house sheathing before doing the flashing on the roof so they had to remove the flashing, put down the sheathing and redo the flashing. They used a white caulk on our red brick chimney. One area of the roof had to have the pitch corrected to match the existing roof pitch and they did not support the wall when they cut the support that connected the two rooflines so the wall is no longer level, when it was brought to their attention we were told it wasn't something they could fix at that point because they had already roofed the area. There was a very obvious bow in the fascia board that I had to point out to them and ask them to correct, instead of doing it properly they shimmed it with plastic shims. One of the biggest disappointments is hiring a company who claims to be top level to install a new roof and in some areas the sheathing they used was moldy when they installed it in my house. Even with all the issues along the way I looked past it because they were correcting most of their mistakes and they offered to help do a few free door installs because my husband who was going to do the install broke his back shortly after they started the job. When getting the bid we had them over estimate to know the high end with a full resheet and we were told and trusted they would credit it to reflect what was used as Joe said they would. I do know that only around half the roof needed a resheet so we should have seen a decent credit back on it. When we received our bill we never received any credits back on the over estimate on the sheathing, when I asked about it Joe told me "he was pretty sure any credit was eaten up by the free door install". That is kind of confusing when we are told it is free but then when we are billed we are told differently. The roofers were very messy, inside and outside. I am still cleaning up nails and roofing materials months later. I will give all the credit to the crew that did our siding, they were phenomenal, zero complaints. Gutter install also went well without complaints. So I warn you if you decide to go with this company make sure you have your contract to reflect only what you know you need. Incase it is not clear on my feelings about our experience I will add, I SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH THE OTHER GUYS.

Cutting Edge Contractor Saved My Home - True Professionals with Old-School Work Ethic…read moreI initially hired Cutting Edge Contractor to install a new roof and repaint my house, but what started as a simple project quickly turned into a home-saving mission. During the process, they uncovered major structural issues and serious code violations from when the house was originally built--cross and support beams not secured to footers, the house buckling under its own weight, water running underneath, and even unconnected sewage lines. To make matters worse, a 40-foot-high deck was not properly secured to the house, creating a massive safety hazard. It was an absolute disaster waiting to happen. Cutting Edge stepped up in every way possible. From start to finish, there was always someone in charge, overseeing every aspect of the project, coordinating the different trades, and keeping me informed every step of the way. Their communication was excellent, and I never once felt out of the loop or unsure about what was happening. Every single person who worked on my home was a true professional--courteous, knowledgeable, and dedicated to quality craftsmanship. They embody an old-school work ethic, taking pride in doing the job right the first time. Not once did I feel talked down to, and everything was documented, inspected, and redone if it wasn't perfect. What was once a musty, unstable house that could have crumbled in an earthquake is now a rock-solid castle. I cannot recommend Cutting Edge Contractor highly enough. If you want a team that cares, communicates, and delivers impeccable work, this is the company to trust! Will post picture of all the new and fixed decking after we get it all stained!

I am a person who takes my time gathering information and educating myself before making any huge…read moredecisions because, as a widow, I find I have more time than money and I need to know that I am making the right decision. Over the last few years, I have known I needed to get a new roof, yet the funds weren't there. I had several roofing companies come out to my home for bids over a span of 4 years. 0ne company only did a satellite inspection of my roof, others came and inspected my attic, yet never went onto my roof, and 3 performed a full in person inspection in my attic and on my roof. I ended up choosing Roof and Nails for many reasons. David was my sales representative and first contact with this company, and he was very thorough in his inspection and in helping me understand all the steps this company would take in providing a great quality roof. Other companies also thoroughly explained the process, yet I feel Roof & Nails provides great quality, more protection, at an affordable rate. Through this entire process and before getting my new roof , I have watched how neighbors on both sides and across the street have received new roofs, yet they weren't given the superior quality I ended up getting and they paid the same or more for a 20 yr roof than my now 50 year roof. The material was dropped off on a Thursday and work started a few days later. At this point, Johnathan was my contact person for this project. Communication was great and he took care of everything. Johnathan has a professional crew who are great, hardworking and respectful. They also cleaned up very well afterwards. I have documented pictures of each step in putting together my roof. They even permanently added four OSHA compliant safety lifeline anchors for any future roof-related workers to use. None of my neighbors received these anchors with their new roofs. Last, yet not least, I feel I have come to know David and Johnathan better as individuals. They are good, honest, and down-to-earth family guys. I can't say that of all the companies I interacted with. This is something I considered when choosing a company. How are they as people, how do they treat their employees? This fact may not be important to others, yet It's important to me. I am confident I made the best choice in hiring Roof & Nail Company to take care of my roofing needs. They gave me a superior quality roof at a fair, not overinflated, price. This comes just in time for the rainy season. I'm ready!! There's a weight off my shoulders. I would have rated them 10+ stars if I could. This review is my heartfelt thanks to each and every person who took part in this job. Thank you!!!
