Smh I hate to write a bad review about a black owned business but man food wasn't cooked& they make you get your own drinks instead of simply getting it for you so you have to get a scooper to scoop your ice in a dirty red cup and you have options tea lemonade or coolaid ... The servicer was kinda rude. he didn't even care that I was telling him the food wasn't cooked he replied "these glasses don't help anything" instead of being like let me get those recooked for you... idk you definitely can go find something betta. read more

My search for good cajun food in the area is over! I tried the Catfish(grilled) with green beans and mac and cheese sides. We also ordered the Betta Trio (Red Beans, Gumbo, and Shrimp Etouffee) so we could sample a lil bit of everything. Every part of my meal was fresh and full of flavor. Ribs special was epic fail so hard and end cut shaped exactly like a diamond with 3 small bones. I sent 3/4 of the half pound back. Lead waitress/ manager on duty argued with me that I ate most of it and her unprofessional response was shocking. I always support local black businesses but owners need to train shift leader how to handle and make rational managerial decisions. She said I can come back to speak with ownership regarding my situation. She was convinced by co workers to give a discount after arguing with me. I did spend $50 (party of 2) after discount of half off rib plate. Our waitress was awesome. Obviously this generation forgot that the customer is always right. This place is amazing! . Had the shrimp Po Boy and it very authentic to NOLA cuisine. Service was excellent. Young lady that attended to us was very friendly. Kudos to her . Gumbo had excellent flavor with shrimp, sausage and chicken. Highly recommended. Place is small so get there early. All fried food is made when ordering so be patient; it is worth the wait. I'm going to try this place again. I order with Uber Eats but this place is really close to me. Anyone from New Orleans would know this is not what a hot sausage po'boy looks like. Presentation is everything for me and at the end of the day Nuttin Betta, needs to do better and knows better. This patty is burnt ! I didn't try the wings because the hot sausages ruined it therefore I won't comment on it. The fries wasn't good as well. I will try other menu items and give this place a second chance. Never again. I'm pescatarian so I ordered the crawfish étouffé and seafood gumbo. (1) there were only TWO itty bitty crawfish in the ENTIRE medium size bowl and (2) the "seafood" gumbo had mushy sausage, chicken and some other meat I couldn't identify and I couldn't eat. So they exchanged it for another crawfish étouffée (the small) because they don't actually have a strictly seafood gumbo. Then this one didn't have ANY whole crawfish, only pieces of what look like veins. Too bad the sauce was actually tasty because I definitely won't ever go back to waste $15 on some rice and sauce. I heard about this place from my sister. So I had to check it out for myself. I had the gumbo and it was ok. Now the poorboy was mighty yummy! I had a half shrimp half hot sausage sandwich. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and so was the hot sausage(patton's) a New Orleans original. My Mom had the catfish, fries and hush puppies. Went to the San Marcos outlets today and ordered the seafood gumbo. Got my food everything seemed great until I pulled out the little crab legs and they were DISGUSTING. Shortly after I was mixing around the rice and food and the shrimp tasted sour and found a LEAF in my food! Would not recommend. read more

The food is outstanding. Everyone in my family loves it. I've taken a neighbor and he loved the food. He usually complains about everything when we go out to eat. But no complaints at Nuttin' Betta. We've tried the shrimp and catfish 3 ways, grilled blackened and fried. All three ways are delicious which makes it hard to decide which style to order. The étouffée is the best I've ever had. That's because they cook the shrimp or crawfish in a brown butter sauce. The prices are fair considering the quality of the dish. My son-in-law requested Nuttin Betta as his last meal with us before he deployed to Kuwait. We eat here at least once a week. The staff are very sweet and take very good care of all their customers. The food is best at the restaurant and also 4.5 when carried out of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is small, but clean, and the music and decorations remind me of The Big EZ. I'd love to be able to order a cocktail or a glass of wine. Not sure if they can serve beer. read more
