I bought an assorted bag of Turkish delight pieces there today and went home. Opened the bag at home and ate one piece. When I took a bite of the second piece, immediately I tasted MOLD - a rotten, moldy, sour taste and I spit out the piece. I sealed the bag and will be taking it back to the store. I hope to God it will not give me food poisoning. There are no expiration dates on these Turkish delight candies - so God only knows how old they are. It is a serious health safety concern when you have mold growing on your food products. You endanger your customers' health. While their sunflower seeds and Dubai chocolate are delicious (and I believe fresh), I don't trust anything else there anymore. I'm disgusted. The pistachio piece I'm posting a photo of, is the one that has mold on it. You can't see it but you can absolutely taste it. Scary. P.S. I called the store several times to inform them that they have mold on their food products, but no one ever answered the phone and their "voice mail box is full" so you cannot leave a message. I would advise every customer to TASTE THE FOOD YOU BUY RIGHT IN THE STORE, so you can return it right then and there if you too suspect mold. read more

I visited this store today at approximately 6:58 p.m. Usually when I enter, I'm greeted with a friendly hello or at least a smile from the cashier or someone working on the floor. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. When I entered, I made direct eye contact with the young woman working at the register. She clearly saw me, but did not smile, acknowledge me, or greet me. After I finished shopping, I went to the register and she began ringing up my purchase without asking whether I wanted to enter my phone number. I asked to enter it, and my account showed that I had a $10 credit available. She then asked whether I wanted to use it, and I declined because I planned to save it for my next purchase. What bothered me most happened as I was leaving. Two young white women entered the store, and I heard the same employee greet them very loudly and clearly. I cannot speak to what was in this employee's mind, but the difference in how I was treated compared with the customers who entered immediately after me was noticeable and uncomfortable. If an employee has biases toward customers of a particular race, working in a public-facing customer service position is especially concerning. I like this store and have generally had positive experiences here, which is why today's interaction stood out so much. I did not appreciate the customer service I received and hope management takes this concern seriously. read more

I should not be allowed in stores like this. Everything looks good, and I want to buy it all. Yes all, it's pricey, but whatcha expect? You're getting high quality fruit, nuts and chocolate. Located on Austin, and a nice size location, the staff let me wander aimlessly around on my most recent visit. Everything was kept neat and the staff asked if they could help, but wasn't pushy at all. Again I could have EASILY left with over $100 worth of treats. I wanted to created my own gift box with their easily do it yourself set up they had. A whole bag of dried pineapple sounded lovely too. This time around, I only bought a bar of regular Dubai chocolate for the fam to try. They've been hounding me about it. There was a special happening, 3 bars for $50. I opt'd just for one at $20. This place is a really cool suites and treat shop that mostly has nuts and there's a great variety, salted, unsalted, candied, and I had to get the candied pecans with cinnamon and light sugar. So good for snacking and I couldn't choose, but I had to go with the pecans that's my number one. They also sell Dubai chocolate and I'm from Portland Oregon, and the Dubai chocolate isn't the best and they do have an imported legit one but every time I want it, they're out of stock... This is my favorite Nuts factory out of the ones near me, I really like the staff here and it's a nice clean store. A little pricey but worth it for the quality of products. We came for the Dubai Chocolate $18 for one or 3/$50, we got the three pack one was decorated with pretty colors the other 2 were plain. Luck of the draw I guess. Their Dubai Chocolate Bar is PHENOMENAL!! We've tried several different kinds and this is the best. It has the right texture of a wet slightly runny center and crunchy kanafe. Perfection. Their Oreo dust coated nuts are delicious too. Everything looks delicious here. My only con is sometimes the parking is hard around here but this is NYC it's to be expected. read more

After dinner at Agora, we spied Nuts Factory across the street and wanted to check it out. We were set to go on vacation in Hawaii and wanted to bring some snack goodies for all my Yelp friends. You're able to sample a bunch of different flavored nuts. Just request them from one of the sales people. We ended up getting a dozen medium sized boxes that we filled with assorted cashews, almonds and pistachios. I also filled another 1 pound bag for myself with assorted flavors of cashews, my favorite nut for snacking. And these are some of the biGGest cashews I have ever seen. You don't have to shell them like pistachios and they have a more satisfying sweet flavor and texture than almonds. There are at least 9 varieties of cashews (I forgot to count) with similar flavors for peanuts, almonds and pistachios. I sampled the BBQ, curry, garlic and salt & pepper cashew flavors and got a scoop of each, but Chili Cumin is my favorite. My bag got an extra scoop (maybe 2) of the CCC. Just be careful when you're filling up the bag because you can get carried away at a pricey $20/lb and you can easily get $25-$30 worth of nuts in there. Also take advantage of some of the unique tea blends. Some are fruity, some herbally and some flavors are really exotic. There is usually a flavor made to sample at the front of the store. My wife picked out a mango fusion blend with what looks like cubed bits of freeze-dried mango and fruit pieces. It had a really nice fragrance when we steeped it in boiling water when we got home. It's also really good with some fresh mango or purée! The really great sales staff packaged all our purchases to travel and even gave us a bunch of really nice tote bags to go with the gifts. I really need to go back for another pound (or two) after polishing off all my cashews and hankering for some more! Did I mention the cashews are HuMonGouS? read more

For me, that was the lokum table. More than a dozen different types of Turkish delight in various formats: simple lokum for purists, pistachio-studded pomegranate for those of us who want something over the top. I picked out a variety of confections, maybe 7, which were priced at $10/lb, and then picked up an inexpensive tub of giant, salted, roasted sunflower seeds, and my entire purchase came to about $7. I don't think this is the cheapest place to buy bulk nuts or dry goods for cooking, but it is a fun place to stop after lunch or dinner or before a movie, and pick up a little something to snack on. read more

I tried the sesame candied cashews and garlic cashews. Both were really good so I got a small container of the garlic one and a scoop of the sesame candied cashews. I'm super excited that there is a Nuts Factory located right here in the heart of Forest Hills, Queens NYC. There are so many options to choose from I seriously couldn't make my mind up. They roast the nuts right here in the factory and the smell is so yummy! You'll get like seriously intoxicated by nuts. I'd ended up getting some roasted nuts and dried fruits. Get this they sell in bulk, but I ended up buying a small portion. It worked out and the price was affordable, now that's a good deal. They also sell some exotic spices - it kinda reminds me of the spice options I'd explored in the market in the Grand Central terminal. Dried pineapple, dried mango, dried kiwi, etc. After I left, I walked in with my friend to just take glimpses of all the beautiful colors of the gum drops, the shapes of the nougats, and the sour power labeled licorice in belts, strings, different unheard of flavors. I just started in awe at the different types of Turkish delight and the cool presentation of dates with pistachios, in a flour ball, made into a candy...just so many candy like and nut filled goodness. It felt like Ichiban squared. The variety of peanuts, cashews, and sesame was wild! I saw bbq flavored cashews, curry flavored nuts, almond brittle, rose flavored halva. This shop is a great addition to Forest Hills, especially if you're into healthy and healthy-ish snacks or candy. I snack on nuts all the time from various sources and the roasted cashews are by far the best I've ever had. I love that you can buy as much as you want and minimize plastic packaging. I find the prices for nuts to be very affordable for the area, which was a nice surprise given the quality and freshness. The people in the shop have always been very friendly and I haven't seen any customers using their hands. I'm a regular and highly recommend checking it out. read more

I came by this establishment and decided to stumble in. Boy was I glad I did because this store is truly amazing. Without being to nerdy, from a consumer behaviorist standpoint, the organizers of this store did a brilliant job at merchandising. There were plenty of samples on top of each items for customers to try and signs posted to call someone over if you would like to try something specific. Although, no one helped me, there was a saleswoman helping out a couple and she looked so patient with them. The saleswoman was showing them different selections and what are good blends to pick from. It showed me that if I did need help, I would not be rushed through. The aisles are filled with all different kinds of nuts, dried fruits, seeds and candy. There are also selections of teas, tea crystals, Turkish delight, spices and halvah! It was so easy to customize any blend of anything you wanted. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey, but everything does look like quality and is FRESH. 10/10 recommend to come to this store and check it out yourself!! read more

When I asked an employee for an item, they seem bothered and annoyed. Its very RUDE. I have visited here at least once every week or every 2 weeks to replenish my family's addiction to the salted peanuts. The variety of nutty snacks are great, you can find some nuts or pretzels covered in strawberry cream, Oreos, cocoa, spicy powder, or salt. There are also dried fruits which I am not too crazy about but I'm sure some people like it; the one time I bought dried peaches it smelled funky to me. There are some grains and tea leaves/mixes. I recommend the peach tea leaves! The back of the store seems to have some cooking spices, but I don't frequent there so I'm not familiar with what they have there. There are also candies which remind me of Aji Ichiban. The first time I came upon this store, it reminded me of Aji Ichiban (similar layout, similar candies, and some Japanese style snacks like rice crackers and seaweed crackers mixed with the like). There are paper bags or plastic containers to scoop the snacks into. At first the plastic containers were out for everyone to grab and use but now it seems like you have to ask an employee for them if you want to scoop what you like. There are prepackaged plastic containers of some snacks that have weight based prices though. If you opt to scoop your own snacks, you can mix snacks in the same bag/container if they have the same weight based price. read more

The nuts and other specialties like Babka and Halvah are delish! I can go nuts for nuts but you can really go nuts if you don't look at the prices carefully. Halvah covered nuts are delicacies that I have never seen. I saw $12.99 and was conservative in my scooping so wondered why the Halvah covered hazelnuts came up to roughly $7! I had sticker shock when I came home and saw $24.99 a pound on my receipt! I think more people would be less inclined to buy $24.99 lb of nuts if the sticker reflected that price but it would help oblivious shoppers like me. The nuts were really delicious but you can spend lots of money without realizing it! Read the price labels carefully because I went back and saw the price label it was $12.99 for 1/2 pound. Buyer beware! The heavier Halvah covered cashew would weigh even more! There is this pita chip that is light and delicious too. I have seen the workers making the chips in the store. On the another note, they are generous about the samples and I enjoy tasting some of the items that might end up on my "must eat" list! The women who worked there today got frustrated at my questions and started to argue with me. I replied why the hostility, it seems you want to be right and argue and her quick response was to call me a Karen. I said are you saying that because I'm white and you are not and you feel that's appropriate for a business to say. I told her she was racist and it's not acceptable. What I don't like is the service and the woman behind the cashier. She is rude and very obnoxious and does not know how to treat customers. She acts like people are getting the stuff for free and so she thinks she can treat customers based on her lousy personality.
