I had a lot of hope for this place after reading about all the hype and decided to give it a try. I wish I could be writing a great review but unfortunately, my experience there does not allow for it.
I made an appointment the day before I came in, which was pretty good. When I arrived, their receptionist was extremely friendly. She told me my stylist would be Lily. Lily seemed sweet but was very quiet. I told her I wanted an angled bob, but just not so short so that the longest pieces would fall above my shoulders since I have curly hair. After the shampoo, she began cutting but I felt like she wasn't doing what I had asked for, so I asked just to clarify that she was doing an angled bob. She said "Oh! You wanted an angled bob?" Ummm... ok, happy I asked.
She proceeded cutting for a bit but then told me that she was going to have to blow-dry & flat-iron my hair in order for her to do the cut correctly. She did so, but throughout the appointment, a few other stylists approached her about helping them when she was done, and she kept assuring them she'd be done soon. This definitely made everything feel pretty rushed. The only time Lily initiated conversation with me is when she asked what products I used on my hair, because my hair is very dry (which I had told her at the beginning anyways, due to lots of color damage). I told her the product I use and she said nothing. I was hoping she would suggest something; I would have even bought something right there.
In what seemed like a very short amount of time, Lily told me she was done. I looked at my hair and noticed hardly no difference at all, especially in length. I asked her if that's as short as she was going to go. She assured me that she left it long because when my hair is naturally curly, it would come up a bit. She then quickly left to go help whatever other stylist needed her. I trusted her insight on the length and said nothing. When I went to pay, Lily informed the receptionist that I was paying for shampoo, cut, & blow-dry for $85. Honestly, I paid because I wanted to avoid confrontation... maybe that was my fault... but I never wanted a blow-dry. Lily told me the blow-dry was NECESSARY for HER to do her work, which feels like a problem that is not mine. Whatever.
It's been over a week since the appointment and I've washed my hair twice, leaving it curly afterwards to see how it came out. I am really disappointed. You can not see any angle at all... you could hardly notice an angle when it was pin-straight. The length is just about the same length I had prior to the appointment, when all I asked is that it did not come above my shoulders. My hair is well bellow, at least six to seven inches below.
I hate to write a bad review, truly, but the truth is that this salon did not live up to my expectations at all. Maybe it was a bad day for them... I don't know... but I know I wouldn't risk going back. read more
