I literally will fly to wherever she is when I need my hair colored to make sure I get the best. She will give you exactly what you want and the blonde grows in naturally so you don't have to worry about obvious roots. 10/10 with LAURA MAC every time! I've been her client since the beginning. The way she cuts hair is sooo good. You could wear it blown out or air dry it and it's perfect. She's patient and really communicates during the consult and cut to make sure she fully understands and executes your vision. It's amazing to see how she has grown since moving to Miami, but I'm not surprised at all. She's been passionate, fun, and caring since the start. She will even take the time to show you how to style your hair at home, which I really appreciate because now I actually know how to wave my hair. I needed a change to my hair and I felt the salons I had previously been going to weren't working out. I never walked out completely satisfied with my hair color. I decided to make an appointment at IGK Salon as their Instagram is filled with pictures of perfectly balayaged hair. I called on a Monday (yes, they're open on Mondays!) and booked an appointment the next day, Tuesday, with Isabella. I was hesitant to follow through with the appointment as it's far (45 minutes from me) and expensive (didn't want to feel disappointed yet again especially after dropping a pretty penny). I convinced myself to go and I am so HAPPY I did!!! I was there for a long 4 hours but every second was worth it because I LOVE my hair. Isabella really listened to me and got the tone of my hair just right. She was friendly, nice, and so easy to talk to! Her IG handle is TheFashionisa, definitely check her out! I did get my ends cut by Dimitry and he was amazing. He's a self-proclaimed perfectionist and I understand why. My hair not only has a great color but because of the cut, is bouncy and light -- it just has life. I do have to keep making appointments as my hair is not exactly the color as my inspiration picture but that's because I'm going really blonde and my hair is naturally very dark with lots of color underneath. Overall, I am thoroughly satisfied and happy and couldn't have asked for two better hair stylists. Not to mention, I was approached multiple times by different people asking if I was okay and if I needed any water, coffee, etc. Highly recommend this place if you don't mind paying for quality because you surely will get it! read more

I love my guy Yani, but if it weren't for him I'd go to another salon and I told him he should. Reservations systems break, I couldn't even get a proper wash cuz there was no availability last time. I had always heard about IGK but never had the chance to go. However, this past Saturday that changed. I went to IGK to get a trim and to style my hair. IGK is located in the Miami Design District. It's a great place to walk around and hang out. The salon is really clean and modern. I loved the way it looked and the vibe of the ambience. Definitely one of the fanciest salons I have ever visited. First, they moved me to a different area to wash my hair. Once that was done, I talked to my stylist to have an idea of what I was going to get done. He then trimmed my hair, blow dried it and styled it. I loved how my hair came out! I experienced rather mediocre service at a salon that tries too hard to be stylish and cool. My hair colorist spent two hours gossiping about other clients with her assitent. As for my hair, the color turned out more brown than the blonde I requested. The haircut was just okay, nothing spectacular, not exactly what I requested since they just wanted to finish fast and move to the next client. The kicker? When I wanted a simple bang trim a month later, they insisted I had to book and pay for a full haircut. They don't offer bang trims--even after I shelled out $800. Was really excited to come here because I had heard great things, but left with one of the worst haircuts of my life. Now I'm stuck dealing with the ugliest bangs I have ever had. I was rushed and not even able to show my inspo pics because the stylist Matthias couldn't even be bothered to talk to me for more than 2 min before wanting to get the service started. He kept going on about how my long length was so nice and that he was going to preserve it for me only to end up cutting 4 inches off. On top of that I specially asked for a gloss focused on my roots with the hopes of covering some of my greys and I can still see some of them. I was surprised since he is supposed to be a senior stylist and is one of the most expensive people to book with so I assumed he would actually be good. He was also so rude when I expressed that what he did was not what I wanted and the ladies at the check out desk were just as rude suggesting that I should go elsewhere next time as I was basically in tears over having to deal with microbangs for the foreseeable future which was far from what I wanted. disappointed to say the least. I had such high expectations of this salon considering I would go and get my toner and hair cut done here but I will never step foot in an IGK salon. Julianne did a gloss with a root touch up which I thought looks great. Fast forward 6 months I go to another professional salon only to find out she had used permanent dye in my hair. In a million years I would've approve this if I would've known what she was using. I think it's flat out disrespectful and deceiving to do this to clients who think they are going to a professional salon with professional hair dressers. Please stay away!!! read more

For starters, this place is expensive ($150 for haircut, color starting at $3-400+). I've gone twice for a haircut and while it is pricey, both haircuts have been great and being new to miami I don't want to have to try 5 places before I find a place that does a great cut and I went to two different stylists and loved both. My only gripe (besides the prices) are the products (they smell chemical-y) which is why I love going to Aveda. Aveda always smells terrific. Can't go wrong here though. read more

I love IGK and I usually go to their salon in NYC. They have the most up and coming professional hair stylists in the area, definitely would recommend Howard for a cut and Alyssa for color. The only down side is that they do take a bit too long sometimes in doing hair and that their prices are very over priced. I would look into prices first before coming here. If you don't care about the cost, then by all means come here, because they truly are the best, especially if you're looking for a new type of hair do and color. They're good with extreme/different looks. The salon itself is really nice and located inside the SLS hotel. It's pretty small but has everything you need. The decor is super cool. You can make an appointment online or can call the salon. Recommend but beware because it's pricey! read more

Here is my experience at IGK: Walked in, was greeted and asked if I had an appointment. I did, so I was attended to quickly. Turns out when I made my appointment over the phone, there was a misunderstanding regarding what exactly I wanted to get done. I ended up with a single process roots appointment with Lhonette, which was not at all what I wanted. I understood that it would be difficult to change me from a roots appointment to highlights, so they rescheduled me for Saturday (today is a Tuesday, so that shows how busy they are). I still had an appointment for a blowout an hour later, so I hung out around the Design District and came back in 45 minutes later (early). I was greeted again and told that my blowout would begin shortly. After 20 minutes of waiting, I decide to peek in the back and see how much longer the man doing my hair was going to take on his previous client. He was JUST starting to blow dry her wet hair! I would have had to wait at least 20 minutes more to be attended. I went up to the receptionist and explained that I didn't have all day to wait around on a blowout and was pretty much shrugged off. No sorry, no nothing. Walked out of there and will never go back. I will be calling to cancel my Saturday appointment. The service was atrocious and unless you are a frequent client that spends hundreds of dollars monthly, you won't be treated right. read more

Horrible. If you want to go to a nightclub have at it but if you are looking for a quality and safe salon experience STAY AWAY!!! No social distancing, people on top of one another, I asked why a customer wasn't wearing a mask and it was explained to me that he's friends with the Kardashians! Ridiculous. And that is the best part of my experience, after waiting 35 minutes past my appointment I got a shampoo that kept getting interrupted because they didn't have: towels, conditioner, a comb! Then I went and waited again as they scrambled to find me a seat 3 feet away from another client and stylist. The hairdresser was nervous because he was overbooked and proceeded to cut my long wavy hair into a thick pointless layer at my ears. I'm assuming it was a mistake because he seemed nervous and kept dropping his comb and not sanitizing it. After two hours i left with THE WORST HAIRCUT I EVER HAVE GOTTEN. My long, healthy wavy hair was now a mushroom bowl cut with a "tail" in the back. A sort of sad cross between a 90's office assistant and a mullet. All for $250 and hopefully no Covid. Even though this was a color correction, this doesn't mean my hair should have been left like this. I looks worse than when I walked into this salon.
