I can tell the staff are trying their best, but unfortunately their best fell far below the standard I would expect--even compared to what I could do at home. I specifically asked for a thorough, clean manicure and pedicure, but the result was excessive to the point that multiple fingers and toes were left bleeding from how aggressively the cuticles were handled. In addition, there didn't seem to be a clear method or attention to detail during the polish application. The paint was applied inconsistently, with more time spent correcting polish on my skin than actually applying it cleanly to the nails. As a result, the overall finish does not look clean or professional. I also noticed that this salon appears to operate under multiple different names within a larger salon, which raises some concerns about consistency and accountability. I searched on Yelp for a while until I finally made a decision to come to Cabellos Beauty Salon. The reviews (although mostly for hair) impressed me the most out of all the other salons I looked at that were close to the hotel I was staying at downtown. I called to make an appointment and the nice woman who answered the phone only spoke Spanish (of course) and had to ask another person to talk to me which was appreciated. The woman I spoke to was friendly and I was able to make an appointment to get a pedicure there in half an hour. So I gladly walked over. When I got there I was warmly greeted by a woman who confirmed who I was and the appointment I made. She asked me to pick a color from the nail polish wall and then lead me upstairs where there was a desk for manicures, 2 spa pedicure chairs, and a small sofa for maybe a waiting area. The woman started setting up the empty spa pedicure chair and so I sat down and she helped me settle in. The massage feature on the chair was broken :( Then she started working on my feet. I admitted that it had been a long time since my last pedicure (mucho tiempo no pedicure) and she smiled at my attempt to speak Spanish. After the spa and cleaning part of the pedicure we went back downstairs to the first desk for the polish/gel. My gel pedicure came out fine and I was pleased with the job Julia (I asked for her name and I think she said Julia) did. Note for anyone looking to come here for a pedicure or manicure: bring some AirPods or headphones to listen to something while they work on you. The staff were super nice. However, I went in with powder dipped nails and asked them to remove before doing a gel mani and apparently only one tech knew how to remove them. They were arguing back and forth for a few minutes on who could do it and it was just weird. The gel manicure came out nice and the tech was so nice. Beware, for pedicures they paint your toes with your feet on their laps. Not sure if that's typical of Miami but definitely no where else's I've been does that. I was someone that went every 3 weeks religiously and noticed that the gel manicure wouldn't hold up like it use to. The reason I stopped going was because my last visit. My last visit my nails were done with gel nail polish that must have been old. My nails chipped within 3 days, terrible. My daughter and I wanted to do a beauty day so I looked on yelp for salons less than 0.3 miles from home and stumbled across this gem! The service: Excellent! Both my 10 year old daughter and I had such a pleasant experience! I arrived on time and they immediately took me to get my hair washed and ready for my cut. I didn't catch the name of the young lady who washes hair but OMG! It's the most relaxing experience you will ever have! I have never had a wash and scalp massage like that! I sat with Fabian and he was extremely nice and professional. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he delivered! I was a bit nervous since I was going from waist hair length up to shoulder length and I was so nervous about cutting too much and hating it but he didn't fail me. He cut my hair to the exact length and style I wanted. My 10 year old daughter has very curly hair. I also was nervous about how he would cut her hair at the short length she wanted seeing she had a lot of hair! And I mean a lot! But once again, he delivered! She was so happy! She wouldn't stop taking selfies and wanting to pass by our family members house to show her new hair off. Thank you, Fabian! My only real issue is that it is terrible trying to find parking - so this place will only work if I am taking the metro mover that day. The place is pretty, clean and the staff professional. I've been to many salons in Miami and in Los Angeles but never have I been to a salon like this. One afternoon I woke up and felt really ugly and I had to treat myself so I could feel better. A friend of mine had told me about this particular location months ago but I never went until a couple weeks ago. I called the salon and they were free so I went in. I can't remember the person who did my pedicure and manicure but she was great. Took about an hour and a half (I requested longer massage times for both my hands and feet) I got a mini massage and my nails did all pretty. She did a mix between an ombré and balayage on my hair. I completely love my new hair. Pilar was very understanding and wanted to listen to my opinions and was able to translate it well by the turnout of my hair. My cut and color was $210 and I tipped $40.
