Be careful with this Luis Canas. He groped me through my haircut. At first I thought he mistakenly grazed my breasts but then he kept doing it throughout the entire hair cut. I was too stunned to speak. Just want to warn other women to be careful. read more

Luis is absolutely amazing!! It was a happy accident that I met him. My phone wasn't plugged in so I missed my original appt but I called the salon and they were able to take me and he took my roots, my overall coloring to a whole different level. THE PERFECT BABY BLONDE. I came in wanting something conservative and he challenged me to remove the yellow tones and go brighter, fresher, even trip my ends which I was hesitant to do. I can't stop smiling since seeing my hair wet and now beaming seeing it dry. Dracy was my first hair stylist I worked with and she was another happy accident/ discovery!! I need a very last minute evening blowout and McAllister Spa was open. She was a gem to work with, beautiful blowout, extensive knowledge on hair and blondes. I'm overall over the moon! Avoid like the plague!!! They'll screw up your natural nails and then ghost you when you complain about it. Came in for an early morning weekday appointment, obviously no one else in the salon other than staff. So why did my nail tech rush my gel nails? She didn't cover the whole nail with polish, grinded down my cuticles which made me bleed on the spot in the salon, and left two of my nails crooked and uneven. What really led me to writing this review was that when I reached out to the spa to complain, they gave me the following response in the screenshots below. If you don't know how to take off my polish properly, DO NOT DO IT. There are literally 4 other nail salons in the area within walking distance. My cuticles stung for days after because she sanded them down along with the polish. They seem to be desperate for money; not surprised if this is the way they run their business. I pay double for better service and much higher quality gel nails in California, you should've seen the manicure I had before this crap. As you can see, I repeatedly asked them what they could do about the situation and they stopped replying entirely. So unprofessional. First and last time coming here. read more

The owners of this Salon DO NOT CARE about their clients. If you complain they will not call you back because they care less once they have your money. They hire hairdressers that need to bring in clients through Groupon. Take Luis for example, clearly he can not keep any longterm clients so he needs to advertise on Groupon to keep a constant flow. Luis destroyed my hair because he needs to use strong chemical to speed his process so he can get as many clients in one day. He must rent his chair by the day is all I can figure. RUN from this salon and even faster away from Luis. read more

Eddie at McAllister Spa did an incredible job on my hair!! I have very long hair that I have kept natural for my entire life. I have never colored it before and so I was very nervous about having it colored. Eddie made me feel comfortable as he explained each step along the way and kept reassuring me that it would turn out great. He exhibited great attention to detail, going back over certain parts of my hair to make sure the coloring was even and just perfect. Eddie is someone who takes the time to do an excellent job and make sure that his customers are satisfied with the result. He took the time to give my hair a glossing treatment and he styled it beautifully afterward, giving me beautiful curls. And... I have to say, my balayage highlights came out looking amazing and I have received quite a few compliments on my hair. Thank you for a great experience Eddie! read more

THE BEST!!! Compassionate hairstylist who jumped in for a hair rescue to my girl!! 6 days of beach, pool, helmet and convertible hair that was in yachtie knots!! Brandy and Tricia led the charge and gently pulled apart a giant dread, diligently detangling and conditioning for hours. Protecting my girls strong curls, cutting into the bounce and shaping a fashionable cut. They did a lot of work, with the crew helping each other, in a really fast way with style and glamour they tackled a frizzy situation with style and grace under pressure. I cannot express my recommendation enough for this salon. I moved here from Boston where I was with an amazing stylist for 10 years who always did amazing color, cuts, blow drys, and focused on the integrity of my hair. I have been searching for 8 months for a stylist in Miami who would be just as amazing at a salon that uses good products. I tried one salon and was unhappy so I ended up flying back to Boston just to get my hair done! I thought I would give it another try and I did my research and decided on McAllister and Eddie as a stylist. ... I am so happy that I have found my new salon home! Every moment was exceptional, from the minute I walked in the door to the moment I left. Every staff member was hospitable and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The color: Eddie took the time to get my color history and I described my vision to Eddie and he immediately had a plan to execute it. He is extremely knowledgable about color and was conscious of keeping my hair healthy. To contextualize this- I am blonde, my hair color is complex, and I have a lot of hair, yet he knew exactly what to do. He made sure I knew what could realistically be done in one sitting, which I appreciate so no faulty expectations are set. He spent hours on my hair meticulously hand painting color and toner (amazing balayage!), making sure his plan was executed impeccably. The color came out incredible. Further, because he has an expertise knowledge in color, we set an upkeep plan with how to get the most out of the color which was reasonable time and cost wise. I am particular about my hair and color and seek a lot in a stylist, and Eddie is everything I look for. The cut: To top off the amazing color, his cut is exactly what I was looking for. He took what I preferred and my concerns about my cut (I was feeling weighed down since my layers had grown out) and gave me something I wasn't able to articulate, but was exactly what I needed/wanted. The style: Then, to top it off even more, he knew how to style my hair (I told you I have a lot of hair and it is thick!). I have found a lot of salons in Miami do not style or blow dry my hair in a way that is appropriate for the kind of hair I have. Eddie knew exactly what to do with it and it came out perfect. Product: The salon used top products, including Olaplex, which is what I was on the hunt for in a salon. DO NOT hesitate to book this salon, and especially Eddie. I have done hours and hours of research so don't let my work go to waste- I have done the work for you! read more

Really bad experience! Isn't enough to say in words the poor costumer service and disrespectful

Wow! I arrived to the Spa & immediately was welcomed by Luis. The environment was very soothing and made me feel at home. I sat in the chair & the joy and compassion of Luis put a big smile on my face. We spoke about my hair, which i had dyed black a few months prior and many stylists from before rejected me saying it would be difficult... This time was different. Although, it felt like it would be challenging, Luis was SO positive. Things turned out so amazing. I needed this day of laughter and smiles! My hair looks lovely. I will be back and highly highly recommend Luis. (not to mention he's from new york so i trusted him with everything!!!!) read more

What should I say, I fell in love with this place :) Last night I was browsing through yelp trying to find a decent place to get a mani/pedi.. Since the last place I've been to was quite a disappointment. Anyhow, I called the spa shortly before closing yesterday and managed to get an appointment for the next morning at 10:15 am. I had to wait a little bit but that was ok with me... I was able to take a look at the store that way (which is super clean btw). When I then finally sat down with Suzanne she offered me something to drink & while my hands & feet were soaking I enjoyed the massage chair :) Anyhow, I can only recommend the spa & Suzanne. read more

I was in South Beach for vacation and realized how badly in need I was of a perm. little did I know that one of the countries best stylists was a mere 20 minute walk from my hotel on Ocean Drive Mark accommodated me the same day and bent over backwards to fit me into a schedule and gave me one of the best hairstyles I have had in a very long time thank you so much for making my vacation a success by making me look great! read more

I had my first appointment today with Eddie and my daughter had an appointment with Julie, we went by coincidence because my hairstylist cancelled my appointment because of a family emergency and I have been postponing a haircut for way to long and I could not wait for a change, and let me tell you.. I do not regret the coincidence, picked Eddie for the pictures and reviews here on Yelp and Julie was the only one available for my 3 year old daughter and we both absolutely LOVE IT not only our new look but the service and patience. Vicky who washed and blow dried my hair was absolutely amazing and loving. I think the price was also very reasonable and even got a blow dry included. Definitely recommend to give it a try. I will be coming back for color soon read more

McAllister Spa is truly the BEST salon in South Florida, in my opinion. From the staff to the quality of work, you will not find a salon that masters hair, nails, and many more services, then them. I've been going to this salon for almost 3 years and I will never go anywhere else, nor trust anyone else with my hair. Eddie, my go-to stylist, is extremely professional and always does a better job than expected. He immediately makes you feel right at home and, the moment he has scissors and his "paint brush" in hand, you know you're in for a treat. Who knows? You may even end up on their Instagram page like I did--a few inches and a fresh balayage later! read more

This place is great. I went to get my nails done with Marnie who did an amazing job with my gel manicure. She paints the color on perfectly. Also very sweet to talk to. I'd say the best on the beach and I've tried a lot of places. Thankfully, I won't have to look any further. Sandrine is also great at dip powder manicures. I was in desperate need to get my hair trimmed and Trish was able to accommodate me last minute after my nail appointment. We even ended up doing a root touch up and a gloss treatment. She's very nice, did a great job, and kept it real. Highly recommend this place for nails and hair! Conveniently located on the beach, and everyone there is very nice. read more

Truly disappointed at this place. The last time I was doing my hair with their professional colorist Mark he literary fried my hair. Who takes two customers at the same time? I have been a client here more than 5 years. I went to get manicure and they didn't wanna give me service because I had gel and said it would take 10 min to remove it. According to her there are more reservations after me so she can only remove it but no service. I understand it could take more time but only blaming me because I didn't tell you I had gel?? If she was nice to help me about that I would make another reservation but I felt like being kicked out. Sorry but whoever going there want to get a good service even if there are some issues. Very disappointed. She could tell me more nicely and give me better solution instead of kicking me out!!! read more

Came here for mani and pedis at the start of our girls' trip.. My nail person was lovely, friendly, sociable and was a trooper when I said the design I wanted. She actually was excited to do it and even added more pizazz to it. Sadly I can't remember her name, but she was a sweet french lady. She definitely deserved 5 stars for my mani.. My pedi was okay.. but maybe i'm just spoiled with leg and foot massages as part of my pedi back home. The seats themselves were aesthetically pleasing but not really functional or comfortable. None the less.. my lady customized my scrub after she educated me on my options and painted my toes quite well.. My 5 stars was only less one because of the little bit of rudeness we experienced from start (not my lady), my friend's experience and the uncomfortable chairs.. Thank you kindly wonderful woman who did my nails! read more

I had a great experience with Mark. This was my first time getting a keratin treatment, he was kind enough to do a free FaceTime consultation where he told me about the product and offered his recommendations on which product would help me achieve my goals. I booked immediately after my consult! When I arrived, the staff was very nice. They offered my hand sanitizer and did a temperature check as soon as I walked in. I also noticed a staff member sanitize every seat and surface after each customer. Mark and I had great conversations and he made me feel very comfortable. During my service he even gave me some coloring tips and ideas on haircuts to make my hair healthy. I'm posting this review after washing my hair 3 days after the service and I am in shock! I have ethnic hair and it is so smooth and manageable I can't believe it. Thanks again Mark for working wonders. read more

I moved back to Miami a few months ago after 5 years of being away, and a lot has changed. I did my research here on Yelp and saw that the reviews for McAllister were amazing, so i figured i'd try it out. I'm VERY particular about my hair, and am deathly afraid of someone F@#$ing it up, but this time i came in to get the Ombre technique done, and a trim. I was a few minutes early, and they took me in anyway. I was greeted by everyone with a smile, and the friendly receptionist escorted me to Joy, the senior stylist. She was AMAZING. She took her time with me, listened to what i wanted, and knew exactly what she was doing. She also answered all my questions about what everything was, the tecnique, terminology and what shampoo to use. She went above and beyond and we had great conversation. I finally found the right salon and stylist. Thanks Joy, thanks McAllister. read more

My mom and I got great mani/pedis today at McAllister Spa! After looking far and wide in South Beach for a high quality, "no-attitude," and reasonably priced place to 'get our nails did', I think we finally found it. From the moment I called the place to set up our appointments, I was greeted by warmth and hospitality--and when we arrived the place was super duper modern and nice on the inside with a genuine and friendly staff. And then of course, the quality of our manicures and pedicures were top notch- with a great color selection, very careful cuticle trimming, and precise polish application. Oh and a nice cup of green tea! Twenty very happy fingers and toes (40 if you include my mom's), thanks to McAllister Spa! read more
