If you're looking for a simple blowout, Oren Salon might be fine--but DO NOT trust this place with anything more complicated, especially extensions. My fiancé had a terrible experience here that ended up costing over $2,000, left her hair damaged, and required her to go elsewhere to fix the mess. The stylist came across as extremely confident and even criticized her usual stylist, claiming she was overcharging and using the wrong technique. He insisted on cutting her extensions (which were only a month old and in perfect condition) and then improperly installed them, leaving beads loose and uneven. She had to return the next day to have them fixed, only for him to cut more of her extensions and still do a terrible job. Instead of making things right, he charged her an additional $700 for the second visit and then had the audacity to suggest she could buy new extensions from him at a discount. To make matters worse, the extensions were so poorly placed that she couldn't sleep comfortably, and when she reached out for help, he was dismissive and unresponsive. He also pushed unnecessary products, claiming her hair would "turn orange" without them. After speaking with others, we found out that this stylist has a reputation for preying on out-of-town visitors, overcharging, and providing subpar work that needs to be fixed elsewhere. The St. Regis is an incredible hotel, but this salon does NOT reflect its standards. I came in to see Oren for a keratin treatment consult. I have fine moderately wavy blonde hair. After moving to Miami from NYC, I have been struggling with frizzy waves which I wanted help smoothing and calming. Oren assured me that the keratin treatment would be perfect for me and would help smooth, straighten, and revive my hair. I came in for the treatment with Shak. The only thing the treatment did was make my hair limp and knock out my color. It looked even more damaged and frizzy then before. Shak convinced me that I needed a cut in order to make it look fuller and more even which I fell for as I was going into a state of worry. He then gave me a long haired mullet. I was extremely distressed about the end result and just left before I became more frazzled. When I had keratin in the past my hair felt smooth and silky. It also required less air dry time and styling. My hair after their treatment dried frizzy, stringy and dull. I texted the salon a few days later with pictures of my hair explaining how my hair did not come out as promised. Laura asked me to come back in so that Oren could examine my hair. She assured me that they would take care of the issue. The feedback I received from Oren was that the keratin treatment was not right for my "damaged hair". I'd like to point out that my consult was with him and he was the one that told me how beneficial the keratin treatment would be for me. Then, his solution was to give me another keratin treatment. First he tells me it's the best treatment then he says it's not the right one and then he says that's the solution. Why would I do another keratin treatment when the first completely destroyed my hair? It was not only a waste of $450 but now I had to pay for new highlights and a cut to bring my hair back to some kind of life. Super disappointing. The entire experience. My hair certainly doesn't look like all the videos the salon posts on Instagram. I'm not sure those are all real videos and photos of clients as I'm not are all these reviews are real. Perhaps some clients have had good experiences here. I just want to warn those out there reading these reviews about my own experience. I have attached phots of what my hair looked like immediately following the treatment. Beware of receiving a keratin treatment here. When we called to book our appointments they wanted a credit card for a deposit. I thought that was weird as I've never seen that before. But oh well we gave them our credit card number and schedule appointments. Went in for a haircut and color. This place used to be over at the W hotel but has downsized tremendously to a very small tiny area the size of a walk-in closet. The guy cutting my hair did a terrible job. He spent most of the time talking to another customer about cars. Subsequently my boyfriend went in to get his haircut. Same hairdresser which I think is the only one that works there. He butchered his hair up terribly bad. The hairdresser kept apologizing about it and telling him that it'll grow back and he'll trim it out for free next time. I think we could have both done better and saved a lot of money had we gone to Supercuts. This place is horrible. I thought something seemed a little fishy when I read the reviews on yelp before I went over there. All of their latest reviews are five stars however all the people reviewing have 1, 2, or three reviews on their yelp account. Always suspect of people who leave Yelp reviews that only have reviewed one or two other places. These are usually brand new accounts and used for puffing. read more

I moved to Miami and have been trying different hair salons all over town. I have medium length dark brown hair and have always tried to be a blonde. I was never really satisfied with the color or cut until I came to Oren Hair Salon! The brothers are amazing and do the best coloring & styling. Usually I'm nervous trying a new hair artist but I felt so at ease knowing they were going to do such a nice job and they ABSOLUTELY DID! For the first time I'm actually the correct color blonde - not orange, not blonde just on the ends - blonde throughout and it blends so well. My hair was glossy and smooth and felt like butter when I left (which is amazing as usually going blonde always damages the hair slightly). My hair has never felt healthier and looked better. They worked with me to do the job done at a fair price and even though it was a little more than I'm used to spending I'll never go anywhere else because IT'S SO WORTH IT!!! read more

I came in not even having an appointment and the owner was kind enough to fit me in the schedule and personally cut and style my hair. Everyone in this salon is so kind, upbeat, friendly, and easy to talk to. There's great energy here and a nice ambiance of happy people - you can tell on the faces of people who leave that they're happy. I came in with long hair that was dry and was recommended a protein treatment (that literally brought my hair back to life) and got the best haircut I think I've ever had in my life. I can't even choose one star for this place. I should have known from the experience I had over the phone. I was visiting from Boston and booked 2 blow drys 3 weeks in advance. First they called to confirm my appts when I was still at home. They also made me leave a deposit of $55 on my credit card which was fine. Fast forward to the week of my appts, they call me and ask me if I can change my 5 o'clock to anytime between 11-2:45 because they have no appts. I show up for my blow dry, which was mediocre at best. The woman was nice enough but I could have done a better job myself. Especially for $88.00. I go to check out and she tells me I owe $88.00, which I don't because they put it on my credit card. But they had no record of it. I had to pull up my credit card info on my phone to prove it to them. So I show up today for my next appt, because If I don't they will charge me. There is one person working on a Saturday and she has a person in her chair and another waiting. The woman at the desk told me I could wait in the hall for her. Baaaaaaaahaaaaa, not a chance. I've run out of adjectives to describe how I feel about my hair and experience with Shak. At the end of my appointment I asked "is it too soon to say I love you?" To put it simply, 10/10 recommend. If I could give this salon a ZERO I would. I booked the salon for a Blow out on during my stay on my birthday. I booked ahead of time and left my $55 deposit. The morning when I came in for a pedicure, the receptionist asked me if it was possible to move my 5 PM appt to 3:00 PM because the gentleman doing my hair needed to leave early for SHABAT. I said it was not possible because I had appts at the Spa. Again, they asked me about coming in early, when I was checking out, this time a female stylist named Christy. The gentleman (my appt was booked with) was in the back saying don't worry I will do her hair. I said the earliest I could be there would be 4:30. She asked again, can you come before you go to the spa. I said NO, I want a fresh blow out, why would I do a blow out before the spa? At that point, I said if you cannot do my hair let me know, because I still had time to find an appointment elsewhere. She said please come at 4:30. Before I went to my spa appt. I walked over to the salon and reminded them I would be there at 4:30 - this would mean I had to cut my spa experience in short to accommodate them. As soon as I was done with my spa appointment I rushed to shower off and make it to 4:30 appt. I saw that the gentleman whom said he was staying for my appt was GONE. The female stylist that insisted that I come in early had someone in her chair. She booked another appointment at the SAME time I was supposed to be getting my blow out. She would not even be done with this client by 5:00 my original appt time. She planned on making me wait an HOUR. After all the harassing for me to come in EARLY. Did not even have the DECENCY to contact me to let me know. On my birthday the day that I want to feel (extra) pampered, I encounter this TERRIBLE MIAMI attitude like they were doing me a FAVOR. This is an updated review one month after my previous review. This in no way is in regards to the quality of service, but more so the lack of communication. Last month, my fiancée got a cut and a treatment and the price came to $200 plus me giving a $50 tip. That also included a wash and what not. This time around, she got a wash, cut and a very minor color correction, being in and out in an hour and the total came to $550 plus the tip I gave. It's concerning because one would think if something was going to be that pricey, I would've been told in advance as the stylist was told exactly what was wanting to be done.
