My face is burned and the waxer left strings of wax on my face and my clothes. I was given a cold pack but told to be careful because "cold can cause burns, too." Maritza was so sweet and professional. I'd rate normal Brazilian wax pain at about 8/10 at its worst. This experience, however, was a solid 6/10 as far as pain. I couldn't believe it. Leaving here extremely upset. I needed to get my brows done urgently so I went on Google and found this place. 50% off for first time visitors, perfect. I go in and my brow lady was Veronica, very nice. She do my brows I tell her to follow the shape of my brows with a high arch. As she's putting the wax on I can just feel that she was filling the arch so I'm like okay let me just let her finish. So she she's done and give me the mirror. I tell her to trim the top hairs because when I brush it they were sticking up. And the top her to wax a little more to get the tail of my brow more defined. I look at my brows again and majority of the hair is missing. She didn't follow what I told her to do. Then she rushed out of the room once she was done. Now I have to wear makeup to fix this disaster that Veronica did. Never again will I go back to this place. $25 for eyebrows if it wasn't your first time is crazy to begin with anyway. read more

I came for the first time thinking the place would be welcoming the front desk receptions was a male he was very kind. Unfortunately, the eyebrow tech VERONICA was not she was rude with an attitude I guess since it was 7:30pm and they were about to close she was mad I don't know but when i asked her what I wanted she replied with "No I'm going to do this" and explain how she was gonna do my eye brows instead of accommodating me the person who's playing for the services. This review is solely based on the actual service. I called and made a same day appointment. I walked in and didn't have to wait long until I was sent into the room. I was getting my eyebrows shaped and specifically asked the technician NOT to thin them. I have very full eyebrows so I simply asked for a slight clean up. When I looked in the mirror afterward, my eyebrows were so thin and misshaped I felt horrible. I will most definitely not be getting my eyebrows done here ever again. I don't know if the technician simply did not understand me or just did not know how to wax eyebrows. Sadly now I'm stuck having to wait until it grows back out. Located upstairs in Mary Brickell Village, Uni-K is my go to for waxing services. The place is very clean and staff are all very welcoming. Let me begin with this as far as my experience. I do not like waxing. It is not on top things I love to do, it's just a necessity. With that being said, I have found an excellent wax professional at this location who makes the experience as relaxing as it can be for a wax experience. Noemi is very accommodating, understanding, and patient. This is essential for me because I am the type of person that will scare off other customers if you are not gentle or want to rush through the job. Noemi listens and takes time so that she is not ripping off huge areas as I just am not one who can tolerate that. She knows how to wax and has bedside manner as waxing can be a bit embarrassing at times. She understands the nuances here and works with you to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I always try to book in advance and there is the option to book your services online as well so if you remember and it's the middle of the night, voila! You can still book your appointment. They offer a rewards program and they run specials frequently which is nice as well. I highly recommend this place and Noemi as she truly has helped my waxing experiences by far. read more

First of all, double dipping is very unsanitary and against health regulations!!! I think she used one one two sticks the entire time to wax my private areas. When I first walked in it smells like dirt or soil you plant with. The waxing pot that the esthetician brought in was very messy looking and she plugged it in while I was on the bed. The wax did feel pretty smooth and silky compared to other wax. She went over the same areas 3/4 times. I have patches of hair left everywhere. They do not wax stomach at all. Not even one strip.They don't use tweezers so you most likely will have stray hairs afterwards. The ice pack they use is nice but again Unsanitary ad they apply it directly on your skin and who knows if they cleaned after the last person. The walls etc had stains on it. And the little cheap bed was pressed up against a wall. Decor is close to none. There is zero instructions on aftercare. Good thing that I know already smh First time customers are supposedly supposed to get a tour and info on the products, which did not happen. The lady who waxed me was very nice and the main reason I gave this place 2 starts Sorry I won't be back and I will call for a refund read more

The session felt rushed, not very thorough and a bunch of wax residue left behind ! BUTTTTT THEN CLAIDIA REACHED OUT TO ME !!!! I made my follow up appointment with her and it was a COMPLETELY different experience. She talked to me through the whole session, she applied pressure, it was next to painless. I took 4 ibuprofens (200 mg) 30 min before coming in. She listened to my wishes, she cleaned me up well, she plucked extra hairs and ALL thank god for her after living here for 5-6 yrs I thought I'd never find another wacer like my girl Laura back in NY but she did her thing !!! Claudia is def the girl to go w| trust! She listens she asks questions & she's thorough, as long as your detailed about what you want she makes the whole Brazilian wax thing much better. Yes there is a sting it's like a rubber band snapping on your skin BUT it's just for the moment once she presses it goes away. This was my second time coming to Uni K Wax in Brickell and really was disappointed with my service Decided to get full legs and bikini wax. It was my first time getting my legs waxed so I jumped a few times out of shock at first.. I dont know if the woman who was helping me felt bad and rushed areas? My woman was sweet, but thats all I can really say about her. Anyway, my legs have straggles of hair left ALL OVER. Im so disappointed. I really wanted smooth legs, and didnt want to have to keep shaving them, but I guess waxing is not the answer either. Also I wasnt asked if i wanted calming gel or anything put on the bikini area after, which i normally need since i have super sensitive skin... Along with that, when I was paying, they told me my total was around 104, so i mentioned something about seeing a package on the internet that was around 80 dollars, something with legs and a bikini area... The woman at the front then told me thats the package where you get your underarms done, full legs and a bikini area??? So im confused how that is 80 dollars .. and i paid 104? If that was the case I would have just rathered that package obviously, but I just wanted to get out of there so I didnt ask her to explain further. overall super disappointed and not satisfied with my service. read more

This location finally re-opened under new management in November. Thank goodness for me as it was getting really inconvenient to travel for my monthly appointments. I had the chance to try other waxing salons and nothing beats Uni-K. They are affordable and super efficient. This location, however, still has a few growing pains. The person who has twice done my waxing is not very experienced and it takes her longer than I like. I've shown up early for my appointment and had to wait up to 15 minutes for my appointment. If you're picky about these sorts of things, then I recommend asking for an experienced person, which is probably what I'll do next time. Right now, nothing beats getting to walk only a couple minutes from my home to get the job done. Ask for the frequent customer program. read more

I was debating giving 1 star, but the convenience factor helps. I moved from NYC and was delighted to see a Uni K practically around the corner from me. But I was very disappointed by both their services, and customer service. I've been getting my Brazilians for years and they were just terrible here. I went 3 different times, different waxers. Very quick, rushed and no attention to detail. There were always a few stragglers. That, I could look past for the pure convienece factor. What I can't look past? The horrendously rude receptionists. I've been booking alone for years with them. I had a coupon code and the lady refused to honor it, saying their location did not accept it. Fine. I called corporate because I thought it was a little strange, they honored it and refunded me for my entire wax! Unemployment rates are high, if you hate your job so much, then quit. read more

The website says they do not double dip but they did with me. Also the room didn't seem clean and i had to use my own wipe to wipe down the bed on the sides as it had strands of long hair that could be seen a mile away. The wax only ripped the hair from the top and not the root. read more

And you can fell relief knowing that when you go there you will receive a good service. The last time I went Maritza was busy and they accommodate me with another girl, don't remember her name but she was a little too serious nonetheless she was professional and did the job without a lot of pain. I had a Brazilian wax with Maritza. As soon as I walked in she was very welcoming. I explained to her that I just moved to Miami and need another wax technician so I am testing the waters here. She assured me that she was the best and I concur! She was very gentle and yet very meticulous. She made sure that she got every single hair off of me. She even reminded me to exfoliate and recommended some home remedies if I did not want to purchase the products that uni k sells for ingrown hairs.
