As I was 5 minutes late for my appointment, Uni K Wax-Brickell called to let me know there was another person waiting and they would take that person instead since I wasn't there yet. I kindly asked if I needed to reschedule and what they recommended I do since I was literally 2 minutes away. The woman was very indecisive and came across as apathetic. She gets the job done with the least amount of pain as possible and she also is, ahem, extremely "detail-oriented" shall we say. An added bonus: she is also very talented at shaping eyebrows. I've had some people assume I went to an expensive Brow-bar but no, it's just NOEMI doing her magic under the radar. Lastly, she works quickly, quietly and efficiently. Very disappointing experience. I have always gone to European Wax Center, but on a whim my friend recommended Uni K and I thought ok, i'll give them a shot. I went in two days before a week long cruise and booked a package. Full brazilian, full legs, underarms and eyebrows. The whole game! Firstly, walking in the receptionist was super cold, didnt even say hello. I said I had an appointment and she said ok and turned around. I had to ask HER if there was any paperwork to fill out since I was a new client. She sighed and said yeah here and slid a clipboard over to me. I didnt want to bother her anymore so i used my own pen from my purse. When I gave it back to her, she called my girl Lauren (or Laurie? something like that, Argentinian) and she took me to a room. The rooms look like doctor's offices, and the tables are shoved up against the wall. no art on the walls, just the hard pleather table, a cart with supplies and a huge fan at the end of the bed. Now, I read up on this place and read that new clients get a tour to see where the wax is made and stored in individual containers, that you get a cooling pad, a calming gel and a bunch of other things which is why I was ok with trying a new place. While Laurie was nice enough and didnt talk much, I felt like she was kind of 'all over the place' with how she was applying the wax, almost like there was no set method or structure. I just figured ok she has her own way of doing it, whatever. She would do a bikini strip, then a big leg section, then another bikini strip, then another big section but on the other leg, in a different spot. Just very all over the place. She had me flip over, did the back portion, then did underarms and finally eyebrows. When she was done she said ok all finished and walked out. On top of this, she double dipped, which, they say each wax pot is individual, but since I didnt see any of this, and since the pot was already in the room when I was escorted into it, made m uneasy. The other thing, they market this as wax that can be applied at room temperature, well mine was hotter than hot, and I actually told her to turn it down cuz it was starting to burn. To make matters more uncomfortable, the bed being shoved against the wall didn't give her a good range of motion, so there were some uncomfortable moments of her trying to get better positioning. Now, I know waxing isnt the cleanest thing, but I was a MESS when she left. I had baby powder all over me, there were strings and little balls of wax left all over me, I had to clean up big time before I could get dressed again. I also never got any of the creams they offered. I looked in the cart and saw a calming post bikini gel, a post wax lotion and I just helped myself to both. I paid and left. When I got home a few hours later and undressed, I yelped in pain, there as a HUGE strip of wax left in my nether regions that I wasn't expecting to stick to my undies. That was an unpleasant surprise. Even more unpleasant, I had hair left EVERYWHERE. Maybe TMI, but my boyfriend had to go in and clean up some pretty significant patches in my bikini wax. My legs were also a mess. I have 3-4 inch patches on my knees, an entire strip down one of my calves, and the thighs look like they werent touched in the back. Overall, super disappointed. I didn't get any of the 'extras' they market like the cooling pad, creams, etc. and I still had hair. I had to shave in the middle of my cruise cuz everything was uneven! I will never go back, and highly recommend European Wax Center, I've never had these issues there. read more

I've been to two different Uni K Wax locations, but I think this is my favorite because of how close it is to home. I went the other day and Elaine did my waxing...and I'm pretty sure she is my favorite waxer here by far. She is fast, efficient, and super nice too... which is always a plus in situations like that! Haha. She really had me in and out in less than 60% of my appointment slot. They're also good with walk ins if you can wait a little bit. I really love Uni K Wax compared to the other types of waxing. They say it's because it's all natural, but really there's no residue left over ever... and it just hurts a hell of a lot less. read more

I was blown away by this place. I used to wax back in Tallahassee while I was in college, so I'm not a newbie by any means. I called Friday morning to get an appointment for that day. They had an opening thankfully so I went. The place is very clean and inviting. After filling out information, I was invited in to get waxed 5 mins later. I had a Brazilian done in literally 15-20 mins. To my surprise, I was hair free!! I was shocked since I had done paper wax in the past. This is the way to go! My lady was awesome and efficient. To my surprise it was extremely affordable. I will definitely be a regular here.. And I highly recommend this place! So happy to have found it. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! When I came the last time (for the first time) they said the next time I would have $5 discount because of my birthday month. When I showed up today they refused to give me a discount due to a holiday weekend. When I asked what does my waxing my vagina has to do with Labour weekend festivities and why haven't they told me about these exceptions before they said that's the company policy. Great customer service. I made an appointment for Friday the same day and it was no problem. I was seen on time and I was in and out within 30 minutes, pretty fast for full legs/bikini wax. Very happy with the results, it was almost painless, and the wax they use leaves your skin super soft (the technician explained it's a mix of honey and pine resin wax). I will definitely come back. My technician was Elaine, she was great. It was my first time at this location and she really made me feel comfortable. I LOVE THIS PLACE. The location is superb. On my way home from work and in the same mall where I get my nails done. I call and make my appointment the same day - they usually fit me in, but if you need a specific time after 5pm I would suggest calling a day or 2 in advance since 5-7 is usually their busiest time. You can also book an appointment online! You used to be able to tip on your card, but now you can't. That's the only thing that sucks. read more

So this place was an eyebrow away from 5 stars. They do good eyebrows but I have gotten the same and sometimes better eyebrow results at nail salons for a better price. However that said when it comes to the girly parts, this may be TMI, but they are amazing! Well more like Maritza is amazing. First time customer. The receptionist, the waxer, and the rest of the staff made me feel very comfortable. I had Laura as the waxer and she was awesome!! They use 100% natural gluten-free wax ideal for sensitive skin. The brochure said wax is made of some pine resin which makes my skin soft. It was applied at my body temperature so I didn't have to worry about getting burned. And it's the kind of wax that hardens on its own, it wasn't the kind where you put paper over the soft wax. The facility was super clean and it smells very nice and fresh. The best part was I got a deep bikini done for only $25. Whaaaaat?!?!? They need to make more locations and expand in Los Angeles! read more

I was a loyal customer of this place with my daughter. I made an appointment for me at my daughter one at 12:00 and the other one at 12:30. I spent 9 minutes trying to park since the parking is a mess and ONLY one parking elevator works. Thus, i was late 9 minutes late. When i got there the receptionist just told me you missed your both appointments. Yo need to wait until 1:45 pm. How they can do that?! I understand if you are late for more than 15 minutes but 9 minutes?! And my daughter's appointment was at 12:30! They didn't respect that either! They never called me or anything. She was not nice. I live in Brickell but now i have to drive to Midtown for the other uniwax location. I am not planning to go to this location anymore. read more

I had been a frequent client since I started living in Miami. I made an appointment and was late for 7 minutes, as on my past experiences I usually had to wait about 10 mins after my appointment time to get assisted. When I arrived, the receptionist told me that I had to reschedule as the next time frames were full. I understood as it was a weekend, but when I asked why she did not call me to let me know she answered very rude that my phone was busy. I got really disappointed as I am a frequent customer. I cannot believe the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism of the female host today. I had booked my appt online for 1:15pm so I could get out of my house at 1pm walking from Brickell like I always do. This is what happened: First she called me at 1:10pm with a rude tone of voice saying that I was late, which I wasn't. Then, when I got there (I thought she had communicated to the technician what type of service I was getting - hence the online appointment whole's point- but she didn't) the technician asked me if I wish to remove all, I said brazilian frontal the $40 one, which is the one I initially ordered online, she goes and performes the $45 service. Then, the lady at the front desk (venezuelan you could say overweight in her 40s) tells me is $45 and I said what about the $40 price online. Immediately she gets infuriated, starts screaming in a derogatory voice, calls the technician to confront me. I said I want no issues , just charge me so I can get out of here. I never felft more insulted in my life. At the end, I did remind her that she should read a book on costumer service. I was a loyal costumer to this location and because of this I will not come back. read more
