I was looking around for a good nail place and stumbled upon Neo Nails, which caught my eye because there was a lot of positive reviews online. I was online and filled out the booking form to which someone reached out to me via email to confirm the services and to finalize my appointment. I scheduled the UV GEL FRENCH. Disclaimer: the booking form is not a confirmed appointment until you hear back. Once you speak with a representative, a link will be sent to your phone via text message and a credit card will be needed to hold your appointment. And yes, that also means that if you are late to your appointment or last-minute cancel your appointment, you will be charged accordingly. The drive to the salon was easy, the area to turn into the plaza, wasn't cramped, in the parking lot was spacious enough, and most importantly, it was free! I just hate when you go to places and have to pay for parking when you're already paying for services, I'm a firm believer that store should validate. Anywho, once you enter the salon, you're met with bright lights in a spacious salon. There is the front desk where checking is super simple and I was taken back quickly, and they sent me up with Betty at the chair. Once I was seated, she asked me if there was anything that I wanted to drink, which is nice. Most of the time when I go to some places that should be offering this service, they don't even ask so it's nice when you don't have to be the one to ask them. Then, once I got my wine and tried to settle into the massage chair, she started getting to work on these dogs LOL. She was very good and thorough, and didn't overdo anything. Nails Salon, I feel like they're not careful, or they don't care, and then they'll literally grind the skin off your fingers and toes. The only con I have with this place is that the massage chairs are slightly confusing and difficult to use. I was like should it be this hard? My boyfriend and I had been talking about getting engaged several months prior and with a trip to Europe planned over the holidays and questions about my ring size quenched, I decided it wise to get my nails done ahead of the trip just in case. I selected this location because I do not frequently get my nails done and a friend recommended this spot. I let the nail technician know about the potential engagement so she would hopefully take special care to make sure they were done correctly. I got the GelX and although they looked great when I walked out of the salon, the next day the polish on my thumb (on my left hand!) began to wrinkle and crack because it was cured improperly under the UV light. I live on Miami Beach and, because this was important to me, drove back to the salon to get it fixed before my trip. They did not remove the nail and replace it with a different nail, instead they filed the nail down, redid the polish and sent me on my way. I did not have an immediate problem with the fix, but not two days later the nail snapped because it had been filed down too thin. Unfortunately at this point I was already in Europe and going to the salon for a 3rd time was not an option. My boyfriend (now fiancé) ended up proposing on the trip and I had to hide my thumb in all our engagement photos. I requested a full refund from the salon as a fair way to mitigate the situation. They rebutted by offering me a $15 refund or for me to come in and have them fix the nail (I paid $92 dollars for the service). I have reached out to them twice now to explain that a $15 refund does not adequately address the inconvenience and distress caused by this situation and it is already too late for them to fix the problem, the engagement happened. I trusted this establishment to deliver a professional service, and unfortunately, this trust was not upheld. It is understandable that nails are a service done by humans and sometimes humans make mistakes, but it's important that an establishment is able to own up to their mistakes and remediate the concerns of their customers. Instead, they have stopped responding to my emails. Please read the bad reviews from this place, many of which are from the last two months and also state concerns about customer service. If you are willing to risk this salon messing up your nails and are comfortable with a lack of accountability, this is the spot for you, otherwise I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

The pedicure didn't include any massaging or hot towel wrap like most basic pedis I've gotten so that was a downside. The total came to $98 before tip. Profoundly disappointed. I have been coming here for a little over a year. I have nothing bad at all to say about my tech, Yanina. She's amazing. She's so sweet, she does great work. I just communicated with the salon (today is day 8 of my manicure) for a repair. I was told on July 10th that they'll repair manicures within 10 days. In my opinion - ABSOLUTELY worth it. Today I was told nope - it's 7 days, and we've seen your history and you've come in for quite a few repairs and we don't see how that's possible after 7 days. I told the person on the phone first of all, I've only come in 3 or 4 times for repairs within the past year (I come every 3-5 wks) and I don't come in for repairs at 7 days, it's more like 8-9 days when I get chips. I also said we'll agree to disagree but that doesn't seem like my fault. I am extremely careful with my nails. If I need to pick at plastic in order to open something, I won't do it in order to preserve my nails. The person on the phone said they'd honor it this time but I told her I wasn't interested. She suggested a different tech. No thanks - I don't think there's anything wrong at all with Yanina and her work. She does great work. I was willing to spend $70-$90 a month on chrome and art (my choice, nobody held me down and forced me to go with those upgrades) when I thought that if anything happened within 10 days, I'm covered. I've had manicures last 8 or 9 days before, and I've had some last 3 weeks. Apparently, the fact that I've come in 3 or 4 times for repairs in the past year now looks bad on me. I'm not willing to accept fault for that. Random other thing to mention - for almost every single appointment (let's say 8-10 out of approx 12 appointments), they called me to see if I could come in earlier. Maybe I'm annoyed easily but I found this pretty annoying/aggravating. More often than not, I make the appointment at the time I want. If I make my appointment for 5:30, no, I don't normally want to come in at 4:30 or 5. I made the appointment at xyz time because I wanted to come in at xyz time. I loved this salon for the year I went there. I'm very, very sad right now as I feel like I've lost part of my community in Yanina and the salon. I highly highly recommend Yanina if anyone reading this decides to go there. I just can't justify the price with how the policy is, and I don't feel comfortable returning to a business where I feel as though I was blamed for something. I don't think most people would. I originally really loved neo nails. However, the last two times has not been the same. Their front desk person (I believe the manager) is exceptionally rude. The first time he put words in my mouth and told me that I told them the wrong service that I was getting and next time, I should actually have told them that it's a different service so that they don't waste their time. He claimed that I had said that I wanted to do gel for a pedicure. Mind you, I've never done nails with gel in my entire life! So I'm not sure how I would have said that but again, this is a field of customer service, and to be so rude and say no no no this is what you told us, when I specifically remember it's not what I told him is appalling. The second time around came today. I have an appointment with them and somebody called me to confirm the appointment last week but actually ended up making another appointment for me. I was confused but just went with it. Today I get a call confirming my appointment for today and when I said, no I'm pretty sure it was Tuesday, he said oh it's because you called us and made another appointment. And while I was trying to explain that THEY CALLED ME and made this mistake, he interrupted and said "okay have a nice day" and hung up while I was talking. I won't be returning. During a pedicure a few months ago, I was pricked by the nail tech. Shortly after, I developed toenail fungus for the first time in my life--it spread over several months. On my most recent visit, one of their own technicians noticed it and recommended I see a podiatrist. I contacted and emailed management on July 8th about this health concern. Their response was a generic copy-paste of their sterilization protocols with no apology, no acknowledgment of my situation, and no offer to investigate. Even after I followed up explaining this was a real health issue confirmed by their own staff, I received another impersonal response. I've now spent over $500 on podiatrist visits and treatment, and I'm still undergoing care. Toenail fungus takes about a year to fully heal. As a loyal customer, I expected basic empathy and accountability. Instead, I received defensive PR responses while dealing with a painful infection they likely caused.
