Absolutely Amazing Experience! I made the appointment 2 weeks after getting my highlights elsewhere and not being happy about the front- the girl that did it didn't at all listen to what I wanted and even made chopped blocks and triangle looking angles. I'm on a road trip so the initial salon was in L.A. & unable to fix it; I felt awful about it for two weeks & decided the money was worth the fix. Shakira got me right in and first thing she said was "your hair is so beautiful"- that comment alone made me feel relaxed and just so comfortable about her because she wasn't trying to get me to spend like crazy and preying on my insecurities. Then the VIBE !!! This place IS MIAMI!!! To the point though, the hair... she did an amazing job and opened up the light around the face (which is exactly what I prefer and was not done at last shop) & even though it was done 2 weeks later so roots would of course be different (my hair grows fast too), she blended it in perfectly! The entire experience was fabulous; Shakira listens, pays attention, does what's best for her client and makes sure you look fantastic! The owner was there and I flipping love her! The music was GREAT--- Gen X party style! I'm having trouble leaving the south Florida area and may just have to stay again a little longer just to have my full highlights done with her before I head back way way way north. I decided to give a try and I was extremely clear when I asked the "hairstylist " for a even hair cut, I said long bob and showed a picture for reference. The guy told me he had over 15 years of experience including in Italy where he is from. Well... that I got and after tips was about 100 dólares. Family vacation to South Beach and I was on the hunt for a great hair salon. My hair was dried out on the ends and I had copper tones on the ends so it was in desperate need of TLC. I contacted Ellie the owner via Yelp and she was able to schedule me for a next day appointment. She is super responsive! She's super down to earth and up for real talk. This is a small salon that is so busy that she has to refer potential customers to a colleague so I felt lucky to get an appointment on such short notice. It is notable that even though she gets booked quickly, she always picks up the phone. I had an appointment with Tom who spent 5 hours transforming my hair from a hot mess to a vibrant red balayage! I had a chance to watch BTS BANGTANTV and play my game on the phone while he worked diligently on getting the color just right. I was very happy with the result but I almost had a heart attack when I got the final bill. An initial quote of slightly over $300 turned into $500 + tip. I'm still quite not sure how that happened and I was too stunned to even ask. My husband looked like he was going to faint and Ellie gave us some nice shampoo to calm him. I don't really know if that worked. Again, I love the end result! This was a disappointing visit. They have great reviews and I had been once before. Both times with Shakira, who is super sweet. I had an appointment here at 11am. I came at 10:55 and the door was locked with no lights on. I called multiple times and got a VM. I finally gave up and went home and got a call about an hour later asking if I was still coming in. I was extremely irritated because I had already driven there and back home and was now going to have to do that all over again. I asked for a discount because honestly the whole thing was a little ridiculous. They said they would honor 45 for a haircut which is normally 60. I said that was fine. At the end is where I had the issue. She said she was charging 50 because she had checked the cameras and the hair stylist was 10 minutes late. So a dollar for every minute. 1.that wasn't we agreed on and 2. The issue was the communication, not the fact she was late. There store front says they open at 10 and on the apple map description it also says 10. She then let me know both were incorrect and they open at 11. Again, another miscommunication that shouldn't have happened.1.Fix the sign on your door and 2. Fix the Apple Maps. No one is searching around on multiple platforms to see when you're open. Regardless, someone should be there before that time so the salon is ready? Just unprofessional over all, the owner rubbed me the wrong way and I won't be going back. read more

The owner is simply a doll. I came in with 5 month grown out keratin extensions which partially dreadlocked up in the back (even though I brushed my hair thoroughly everyday) She had so much patience detangling me and getting those old extensions out. What a hidden gem! I first contacted this salon because I had been given a HORRENDOUS haircut by another salon. When I reached out, Ellie, the owner set an appointment for me right away in order to help me not look a mess for Thanksgiving. Beforehand, she let me know that although I was always use to having long hair, there was going to be quite a bit of hair she would have to cut in order to fix the damage. The fact that she was honest, was already a plus. I was scheduled right away and the stylist did not disappoint. My hair not only was saved from having to go super short, but used products that left my hair looking healthier than ever! A very chic, modern, clean and intimate salon with giant bubblegum pink pillows on their massive cushion bench to lay on while waiting. This salon is like a fun girls day out with your stylist, who cares how short or long your hair process is with all this comfort and giggles running in the air. Everyone is very social and friendly. AND they have a makeup bar full of glitter pots. My stylist, Veronica, has been the absolute best with my hair. I wanted to change up my dark dark hair with some fun colors, balayage style! So we had to go through three rounds of bleaching until it finally turned blonde enough cause of how dark my hair is, but since honest Veronica specializes in color, my hair looked amazing in the end! I am never going to another stylist. Veronica was so easy to talk to from the get go, set up my bleach appointments with enough time apart as to not damage my hair, advised me on which shampoos and conditioners to use, and has colored my hair to perfection. Her color skills are beyond awesome, the second I walk out the door, I always receive compliments from strangers or hear them from a distance, "her hair is so cool". She makes me look like a real life Instagram pic from the popular page haha. My first color was a beautiful blend of purple and pink, I looked like a unicorn! When that color faded, I went in to do another color and she created this wonderful fuschia melt! Because I'm fairly new to Miami, it's taken quite a bit of effort finding a good salon for both color treatment and hair cut. Naturally I started the search with word of mouth referrals, but in this case, I still didn't find the right fit and had to start going to other salons based on my own research. I finally found True Hair and it's been a blessing. I'm picky about a lot of things so I'll share my experience by making a list in no particular order: 1.) I love the area (parking can be tricky, so I suggest using the parking garage gor Target and Marshalls across the way). It goes without saying that you might be tempted to do a little shopping before or after your appointment, so keep that in mind. 2.) My stylist, Shakirah, is a beautiful person inside and out, and of course has done an amazing job with my hair. My favorite cut has always been the pixie, but since I'm now in my 40s, I didn't know if I could still get away with it. I'm happy to say that I can still totally rock it! It's not an easy cut, but Shakirah nailed it. 3. I love the energy/ambiance the salon has. It's a boutique salon tucked away in Midtown. I don't know why, but when I go, not only do I lose track of time because I have such a great time, but I also feel like I'm on vacation! 4. Both Ellie, the owner, and Shakirah have excellent work ethic. Shakirah is very patient and understanding, and takes her art very seriously. No matter how long a stylist has been working in the field, you really need to bring as many pictures as you can of the hair style you want. I think I've covered everything. I had a great experience here! They booked me via Yelp and had answered right away. The salon is clean and cute and welcoming. They do awesome extensions I got to witness as I got my hair done, which was like watching before and afters come to life. But while extensions seem to be a big draw for a lot of clients here, I had come in for a standard color and cut. And Sheyla did an awesome job. She was honest about my previously-box-dyed hair, did not laugh in my face directly when I showed her some photos that were way too light for my hair's current condition, and brought me back to reality with some babylights, base color, gloss, cut and a plan for the future if I wanted to realize my bright blonde dreams. I'm a true believer in you-get-what-you-pay-for so while the prices are not the cheapest, they are not over the top and it definitely feels worth it. 10 out of 10, will be back! read more
