I've been going to this hair salon for over two years now, and it has truly become a place I love, not just for how amazing Andrea is with my hair, but also for the care and kindness I receive every time I'm there. From the moment I walk in, I feel genuinely cared for, and the staff always goes above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They always answer the phone right away and are super helpful in finding appointment times that fit my schedule. I've visited the salon 2-3 times a year since moving to Miami, and every visit has been a wonderful experience. Whether I want to chat or need to get some work done while my hair is being styled, they are considerate and accommodating. My hair is not easy to work with, and I've had my share of bad experiences at other salons. But from day one, Andrea knew exactly how to handle my hair. He listened carefully to my preferences, offered helpful advice, and I left the salon feeling incredibly happy with the result!! That has been my consistent experience every time I return. I always get compliments on my hair after a visit--both for the cut and the color. What an incredible salon. Antony is a true artist. I found him via Instagram through a friend. I am getting married soon and wanted to balayage my hair prior. I showed Antony a pic similar to what I wanted but left it to him. I was amazed and can't wait to go back. The entire salon is full of wonderful people. Everyone is vaccinated in the staff so masks are optional (I opted to keep mine on). But they are constantly asking if you want water or if you're okay or if there are any concerns. I was there for a few hours as the balayage set in and I watched many happy clientele leave with beautiful trims, beautiful updos and beautiful coloring. Everyone is just sweet and lovely. After reading the recent reviews on yelp (the salon was reportedly under previous ownership several years ago), I booked an appointment online (very easy process) and was welcomed by a very friendly owner and one other stylist. I appreciated that the salon was not packed to capacity during COVID (not even close) and that the owner took his time doing my hair from start to finish. The end result is the best balayage I have ever had and I am so thrilled to have found them. Of note, they offer a full spectrum of services, including men and children's cuts. I was so glad to read all of these positive reviews... obviously most people don't have any issues with the main hairdresser/artist/stylist doing part of your hair and then handing you off to their assistant to finish the job. However, I do - a big problem with that actually! They are the reason why "I" made the appointment with them in the first place. Not to mention I've had that appointment for over four weeks and ended up walking out. Natalia is the stylist you have to see. She has been doing my hair for almost 3 years now and she is absolutely amazing. She does exactly what you want and always makes it look perfect. She takes her time to make sure you're happy. When we first met I had an awful haircut and my color was totally out of whack. Since then she has corrected my color (and we've changed it from brunette to red to blonde!) and she perfected my cut. She is hands down the best stylist I have ever had. I drive from Deerfield to Miami and she's worth 10 times that drive! Not to mention she is friendly, funny, and so easy to talk to that you forget you're in the salon and feel like you're out on a girls night. I decided to change my platinum blonde hair into a dark blonde or cooper color. I made a lot of researches on Yelp to find a 1. Good Hair salon, 2. Very good hairdresser for colors 3. Location Miami. I clicked through Studio Chroma's yelp pictures and decided that Natalia is the one I want to go to. I made an appointment and I was super excited for my new look. On the day we met she recommended me to slowly go darker in my hair color, so I can adjust better to my new look. She convinced me with that and we made lowlights and highlights. We also used the Olaplaex treatment that my hairs don't get so many damages. The color came out stunning. I am very happy with my hair color. It looks so natural! And it has really no breakages. My first visit to Chroma was such a great one. The stylist that did my hair did an amazing job with my color and Brazilian Blow Out. Sadly, on my next visit he was no longer there. When I called to make the appointment the receptionist placed me with a young lady. My first visit with her, I just did regular color and she did an okay job. My sister, was also her client and both of us did the Brazilian Blow out. I have done Keratin and Brazilian Blow Out numerous times over the last 10 or so years. The few other stylists that have done Keratin or the Brazilian Blow Out have always advised me that the process is a long one because you have to take time with the blow drying and flat ironing, that is what seals in the treatment. The stylist was always in a rush and prided herself on being fast. Being fast is good at times, but when you have a treatment that needs to be done with patience, fast is not good. In November, my sister and I decided to be adventurous with our hair and do the Balayage. Most of the clients seem to have this process done with the more experienced stylists at the salon and were very happy. Biggest mistake ever, the stylist completely damaged my hair. My sister wanted to add some dark brown subtle streaks to her hair, she ended up with horrible red chunks of color in her hair, that looked trashy. What she did was not Balayage at all. The stylist left the color in for at least an hour, while she planned her lunch with the staff, walked to get the lunch for the salon employees and ate. My hair was also completely damaged. After the stylist did the Balayage, I called her because my hair was visibly damaged. I had split end, chemical burning, and my hair was straw-like in appearance. I could tell she was offended when we spoke. She asked me to come in because in her opinion all I needed was a haircut. I did need a haircut, but I would have had to cut off all of my hair in order for that to be the solution for the damage she caused. I went back to her one more time for just color in the hopes that she would try and fix the damage she had caused, but she didn't. I have gone to 2 highly reputable stylists since Monica and they have both been appalled with the damage that she caused to my hair. The problem with Chroma is, you have 3 seasoned hair dressers there, but the other ones are young girls with no experience. They are the receptionist at the salon for a few months, then all of a sudden, they are stylists. read more

So I went to the salon to do my hair with Adrian and I completely forgot that last time he denied doing my hair for 15 min of me being late since there was traffic coming from brickell. Honestly who does that Denies someone for being late. This occurred one year ago. I complete forgot about this and decide to give them another chance. Once I came in to the appt he said I can't do your hair because of the review you wrote. Why because I wrote the truth? Honestly they are the WORST! I have been going to Andrea for 3 years now, so this review is long overdue. He is a wonderful and very experienced hairstylist. I always leave the salon satisfied and loving my highlights. He truly understands different hair textures, mine being very fine European hair. Other stylists in the past have over processed and broke my hair, but Andrea always gets the result without the damage. He also has given me great tips and products to keep up my hair color in between services, which are the same products that they use in the salon - and can be purchased Right there. Over the past 3 years I got to know them very well, and I can say everyone in the Chroma team is very talented, friendly and professional. Most of the time you'll find Samantha at the front desk who is also the co-owner of the salon, and she's Andrea's wife. She always greets everyone like family - and with a warm smile. Andrea has salons in his native Italy, and he splits his time between his salons. They send out email notification when he's in town, so I always know when he's in town and can make my appointment before he gets all booked up. I highly recommend them, as they're one of the most down-to-earth, not pretentious, family friendly and reasonably priced salons that I found in the Gables. Yami, the girl at the front desk has no client etiquette. I cancelled my color appt this morning after exploring their instagram account and decided i wanted to wait on my balayage to be able to book either Adrian or Gregory (which btw im not gonna lie theyre pretty good from what ive seen) but i made sure and double checked i kept my haircut appt so that i could still come with my daughter and she even confirmed before hanging up the phone that "you still coming for the haircut" and i said yes. Well i arrived and apparently she wasnt happy to see me, she asked who i was and then said "nope you dont have an appt here and i cant find the appt for your daughter either sorry!" Even though we spoke twice in the morning. So i explained i had made an appt and she didnt let me finish, she talks on top of you and loud, she said "no but you canceled it this morning, you told me to cancel" Then went to speak to someone without saying anything so i just stood there not knowing if i should stay or leave. She came back and said "you dont have an appt so i can let you in somewhere but youre gonna have to wait a while for the haircut" with a tone of attitude No thanks... this is why Miami has such a bad reputation of people being rude to you. Its a first in Coral Gables for us, usually every business around here takes pride into giving you above average experience, this was unexpected. What a great experience! I decided to get a balayage on my "virgin" hair and for being the first time getting it colored, I felt at ease in the hands of Emilee. She is so sweet and listened to what I wanted. I did not feel pressured nor uncomfortable... unlike in other salons where they can sometimes steer you away from what your original vision is. She blended the colors in beautifully with my natural hair color, which is what I asked for- sun kissed~ Things that would be "add ons" $$$$$$ in other salons (toning, blow dry) were included. I was looking for a good salon where i could get one of those nice balayages that you see in all the magazines.apparently chroma studio seems to be nb 1 top salon in Miami. I called to make an appointment around 1 o'clock. Nobody answered, went to voicemail. Left a detailed message, a week went by, NOBODY CALLED ME BACK. I went online and spent 15 min to make the appointment and put my credit card info. When i call the day before to confirm, a gentleman answers and tells me that Natalia refuses to do my hair because it was previously permed. It is ridiculous how such a professional hair salon would turn away clients without even a brief consuktation or a strand test. I did not even get to say that it was a year ago, weak perm. My friend found Studio Chroma through Instagram and I was the guinea pig for the office. I have had two appointments with Emilee, for a cut and a cut and color. I´m a huge fan. Both appointments were absolutely great, and I walked out loving my hair. Emilee is fun, personable and great at what she does. For color I went with the ombre look and I´m thrilled with it. My hair had natural highlights from the sun, and the ombre really brought out the blonder tones and created a more dramatic color change... but something that still works for days when I don´t style my hair. Emilee really listened when I said I´m trying to grow my hair out and has cut my hair to achieve great results. Tristan is awesome. Like for real. I have never been a loyal client to any stylist, colorist or salon in general... That is until Tristan. If you have any anxiety or are indecisive about what you want to do, Tristan is your man. He has been so informative and has constantly given me great guidance. My hair wouldn't be the fabulous, soft mane it is today without him! The salon is comfortable and the other staff members have always been nice. The location is great as it is just down the street from a parking garage and if you get there early in the day (on the weekend) there is usually parking right out front.
