I was looking for a place close by where I can get a descent haircut. I opened Yelp to do some searches and found this place with great reviews, called and was booked for an hour later. When arrived they offered me coffee, water, wine while waiting... I declined this time but a nice compliment which I'll be accepting (wine) next time. Getting into the haircut theme, I was helped by Irene, she is very nice and professional, she knows how to get the job done. My only surprise was the $20 cost for a men's haircut which is the more expensive I have ever had, I also read another reviewer said to paid $15 every time so this got me unguarded. Obviously you noticed all the 5 stars! Yes, they have been earned honestly and there is no hype to this. This is legit. On the second floor of the Novillo/Goodwill/Ale House shopping center, there is a unassuming beauty and health mall (it's actually called Beauty Mall Hair & Spa) with lots of private spaces for hairstylists, nail professionals, makeup artists, etc. In this mall is where you find Anthony, on #4. All the spaces are very clean, well ventilated, and they all look brand new. As far as I know, and as far as I can remember, Anthony is a one man show. He may have mentioned otherwise, but that is what I am going with in this review. My experience: I texted him, I scheduled via text (no same day appointments on this occasion), I showed up for my appointment, I explained my needs, he delivered. I am fully satisfied. Something to add, yes, why not? I really had a good time. I don't know. Anthony is very professional and one of the best hairstylist I have ever met. Where do I begin? I trust NO ONE with my hair. I see what disastrous color/highlight jobs do to heads and people! Well..I went to AnthonyG Salon for the first time last year, and asked for a color. I had a color done beforehand by someone who clearly did not know what they were doing...and worse..it had been the FIRST time I had EVER colored my hair! I was so scared to try someone new...but they NAILED IT. I wanted my natural color and my hair looked like it did when I was in junior high. They all did such a great job. The fun part was the blow dry. I had three people at one point doing it, it was so cool! I have since returned several times to do highlights, touch-ups, etc., and they cease to disappoint me. This is a hidden hair salon in a not so great looking strip mall. But I am the first to say don't judge a book by its cover. I had been looking for a good salon in the area and decided to try this place after reading their yelp reviews. I was skeptical at first as I have been to many places that could not blow dry my curly hair but I was pleasantly surprised after my first visit. Yelp once again you did not let me down. I have been getting my hair done with Sarah for a few months now and I am very happy with her professionalism and her skills. She always takes her time and makes sure your hair comes out exactly how you want it. I also love the fact that she is always on time and I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. This is hands down the most amazing hair salon I've ever been to! I just moved to Miami for college without knowing anyone down here or of any salons and could not be more happy I ended up here! I booked my appointment for 4:30 and ended up not even getting here until 5:00 but they still managed to squeeze me in AND let me take advantage of the free conditioning treatment (which did wonders for my hair). Discovered this place on Yelp. Called and scheduled an appointment for the next day. I had an opening earlier, so I showed up unannounced. They graciously took me with minimal wait. Anthony the owner was on site, very involved and very personable. He is also very experienced. He cut my hair, I received a shampoo, he styled my hair and taught me how to do style it with the proper products. I had been overusing multiple products. This is something previous stylists had neglected to tell me for years. An hour after leaving, I was unhappy with the blend between clippers and scissor cut. So I went back in and Anthony graciously redid my hair. I don't have much hair, but what I do have it extremely hard to cut properly due to multiple cowlicks. Moving to a new stylist is often difficult and Anthony and his staff made me very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and professional. I was also offered a colada. It was DELICIOUS. I would recommend to others, but I will not be going back. I am still not completely satisfied with the blend between the clippers and the scissor cut. I believe 1/3 of the blame is due to my wild hair (the previously mentioned umpteen cowlicks), 1/3 a bad blend, and 1/3 my lack of communication of what I really wanted. Great little salon in the shopping center where The Palace movie theatre is. I have to admit that the only reason why I came here was because my hair stylist decided to change salons. Stephanie is the stylist that makes my hair look so fab all the time. She's awesome at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone. The salon is pretty nice as well, they have a full staff of hairstylist as well as manicurist. The prices are pretty decent compared to other salons. Blowdry, highlights, color and cut all for $180. I went to Anthony G Salon immediately after causing a hairpocalypse with at-home-color-stripping. I walked in with bottle black hair and red roots, but walked out with an even and rich brown head of hair. After a conditioning treatment, Anthony G Salon was even able to add some highlights while keeping my hair in shape (didn't even have to cut off a whole inch!) which of course made me happy as scissors and I are not friends. I was so happy with the results, I took my daughter and niece a couple weeks later for some fun coloring (blue and pink done by Miss Jessy - love her!).
