I have an AirTouch technique in my hair, and since the salon does not offer AirTouch services, I wanted to confirm in advance that we could achieve a similar look using balayage or highlights. I was assured we could proceed. At the appointment, I waited a bit (which I understand happens in Miami). Once seated, the stylist examined my hair carefully and suggested doing a half head of highlights first to see how my fine, chemically damaged hair would react. I appreciated the caution and explained my previous negative experience with another stylist. When I left the salon, I was happy. The result wasn't identical to my inspiration photos, but I felt good about it. However, after washing my hair once, I noticed obvious orange foil spots and poorly blended areas near my ears. I immediately contacted the salon, and to their credit, they accommodated me the next day for a correction. Unfortunately, the solution offered was to darken my roots to cover the orange spots. This left me questioning why I paid $450 to lighten my roots, only to have them darkened again. Now, just a little over two weeks later, my hair already looks grown out because of the darker roots. For the price point and reputation of this salon, I expected better execution and a longer-lasting result. I truly wanted to love the experience, but overall, I'm very disappointed.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED The first time I went to Annia, my hairstylist, I paid $500 for my hair service. At the end of the appointment, she told me she was tired and asked if she could finish my roots another day. Because I trusted her and tried to be understanding, I agreed. Looking back, being too nice is exactly what led me into this situation. Two weeks later, I returned only for her to finish the roots she had left unfinished. That was all she was supposed to do. Instead of focusing on my appointment, Annia was working on another client at the same time. The other client, who was also an employee of the salon, kept talking about needing to leave for a party. Annia repeatedly said out loud that she was stressed and overwhelmed. As the paying customer who had already paid $500, I expected my appointment to receive the attention and care it deserved. I had specifically shown her a photo of exactly what I wanted: a very small root shadow, approximately the width of my pinky finger, so my natural dark brown hair could grow out naturally. Instead, because she was rushing and distracted, she applied far more dark color than I requested. The moment she did it, I told her it was way too much. She knew immediately she had made a mistake. Then she attempted to remove the excess dark color. I repeatedly told her not to damage my hair because I was happy with my blonde color and knew my hair had already been processed recently. Despite knowing my hair was fragile, she tried removing the color with bleach under running water. My hair could not survive it. She fried it. She broke it. She damaged the color I had spent years maintaining. While the other client left the salon happy, I was left sitting there for hours while Annia tried to figure out how to fix what had happened to my hair. She admitted she felt terrible because she knew she had damaged my color. When I got home, my hair felt like wet pasta. It became gummy, stretchy, fragile, and impossible to properly brush or blow dry without fear of further breakage. The very next day I sent her videos and photographs documenting the damage. At first, she apologized and asked me to forgive her. She told me my hair could not be touched for at least a month and promised she would help fix it. I believed her. As time went on, the salon owner also became aware of what had happened. She was informed about the damage to my hair and the situation surrounding my appointment. As the owner of the salon, I expected her to step in, address the issue, and help find a resolution. Instead, she did nothing to help and failed to take responsibility for what happened in her salon. I trusted her. Unfortunately, after weeks of sending photos, videos, and updates, everything changed. Instead of taking responsibility, I was eventually told the damage was somehow my fault. I was accused of using cheap products. I was called crazy. I have the text messages. I have the screenshots. I have the photos. I have the proof showing exactly what I requested and exactly what happened afterward. For more than three weeks, I suffered emotionally and physically from the damage done to my hair. I had one of the worst Mother's Days of my life. I did not want to leave my house. I did not want to go to my office. My confidence and self-esteem were shattered. As someone who has spent years growing and maintaining healthy blonde hair, I understand the investment required. I take Nutrafol vitamins that cost approximately $280 per month. I purchase professional-grade shampoos, conditioners, masks, oils, and treatments. I have spent years caring for my hair. Anyone who maintains blonde hair knows it is not cheap. After damaging my hair, Annia sent me partially used products and instructed me to perform treatments at home instead of bringing me back into the salon to personally provide the care and treatments herself. When I realized I was not getting help, I contacted the salon owner. As a business owner myself, I believed the owner would understand customer rights and take responsibility for what happened inside her salon. Instead, I was ignored. I was told I would receive a call back. That call never came. Weeks later, I am still waiting. At this point, this is no longer only about the $500 I paid for services. This is about accountability. This is about the extensive damage to my hair. This is about the emotional distress, loss of confidence, additional salon visits, treatments, products, vitamins, and extensions I will now have to purchase because of what happened. I am keeping records of every expense. I am documenting every treatment. I am saving every receipt. I will continue to pursue this matter until it is resolved fairly. No amount of money can give me back the years it took to grow and care for my hair. But customers have rights. And I refuse to stay silent. read more

Anabel Marie at The Glam Studio has been doing my hair for years now (6 to be exact). I started doing my hair with her even before she was a salon owner. I was with her from the beginning. She has always been very professional and caring stylist, truly like no other. I have never left upset or disappointed. Each time I want to venture into a new style or color she knows exactly what I want and what looks good on me. Not to mention her awesome makeup skills. That is one of the things I love most it's a one stop place. She makes my family and me feel like the "Robdashians" how she calls us on occasion. She always has pampered me and all my family members that also come to her including my daughter (that swears Anabel is only her stylist). Once Anabel ventured out to become a salon owner I was more than thrilled. Here at the Glam Studio her amazing work and motivation has carried out even more. I feel at home here and I come at times more than twice a week. Her pampering is like no other and not to mention her professionalism. Once she opened the Glam Studio she brought in a second stylist trained by her and with her same strive and determination. Hellen is wonderful, she has blown out and styled my hair various times and has cut my daughters hair as well when Anabel has not been available. I think this is a big deal because once you are used to your own personal stylist it is very hard to confide in another but Hellen had done a great job at making me feel comfortable and leave happy.
