Some dishes good and others are too bland for my taste. The biggest downside is the constant loud, poppy music, which makes it hard to concentrate on reading or a conversation. Open till late for Boston standards, even in the weekends, and has everything to accommodate you: Healthy delicious food, comfortable seats, great daylight from the big windows, good wifi and not too expensive. This is my without a doubt my favorite casual restaurant in the area. Anytime I'm looking for something healthy, I go here. Everything on their menu is great. I ordered the vegan Pesto Chicken Panini with a side of Tuscan Tomato Soup and the vegan Banh Mi with a side of Spicy Cucumber Salad. Both were great, but I think I preferred the "Chicken" Pesto. I first tried the food and smoothies here during a Yelp event. The food was mostly pretty average; none of the various salads were really memorable. I think the best item was one they were at the time testing, a short rib (?) dish they were adding as a heavier, more dinner-like dish. However, the smoothies are AMAZING. Was looking for a place that made acai bowsl that compared to the one I had on Maui. NU Kitchen definitely is the place to go. There's parking right in front. We tried the Molokai bowl and Oahu bowl! The reason for my 3 stars today is because they are still using romaine in their salads right now. I usually don't love fear mongering but it's a pretty vast recall. This is one of our favorite places in town! Their acai bowls are amazing. I love to add whey protein and peanut butter to the oahu bowl. The portion sizes are perfect and the price is very reasonable. With take-out being the only current option, we've started exploring the menu for other tasty options since we don't want to eat soupy acai bowls due to transit time back home. Today we ordered the banh mi, chorizo bussel hash, and chickpea and parmesan bowl. The banh mi and chorizo brussel hash were very tasty. The hash was the perfect amount of spicy. However, I was disappointed to open my chickpea and parmesan bowl to find neither chickpeas or parmesan. I'm hoping it was just a fluke of a busy Sunday afternoon and a transition to higher amounts of delivery. I've always enjoyed eating at Nu Kitchen, but was disappointed that the two main ingredients of my bowl were missing. I ordered a turkey, bacon and avocado wrap that barely had any of its namesake ingredients on it. 1 slice of turkey, 1 piece of bacon, NO avocado or cilantro and a barely noticeable chipotle mayo as listed on the menu. What I did get was a whole lotta flavorless lettuce on a wheat wrap. A terrible value for $8.99. I feel like a sandwich that lists 2 proteins should probably have at least 2-3 Oz of protein on it. Ive gotten the buffalo kale chicken wrap the cashier charged me double but then corrected the mistake. The wrap was tasty but served cold (I didn't know it would be) would get it again. Overall, this place is great. There are no other cafes like it in the immediate vicinity and I would suggest going. The food is surprisingly awesome for a small cafe. The ambiance, decor and music are tasteful. The service is typically efficient and friendly. My only major complaint (and I come weekly and will likely continue) is that the table tops are always sticky and covered in food. It's rather disgusting and unappetizing.
