Was feeling sick and decided to give Souper roll up soup a try! You can definitely tell the soups are homemade, and they even include a piece of bread made fresh from central bakery next door. I liked the lemon chicken Rice, and I also tried the chicken orzo. I can see why some remark that the soup is a bit salty, but when you have the bread it really helps. I'm absolutely lucky to have homemade soup nearby for when I'm feeling sick and I'll definitely try their sandwiches because of that amazing next door bread! The place has a very homey vibe and I suggest you support this business.. and grab a soup for the freezer on days you're not feeling well. They're only open 9-5 so you can't come for dinner, make sure to plan ahead! read more

Disclaimer: I did not visit Souper Roll Up Cafe in person, I just visited their stand at a fair. They had a few soup options, which were kept warm in these huge pots. I tried the chicken lemon rice soup, which didn't seem like anything special to me. It was pretty salty and reminiscent of canned Campbell's soup. My friends tried the crab meat and corn chowder soups and had the same take. I wouldn't recommend the soups, but based on other reviews, it sounds like they have some great sandwiches! I will have to check them out in person to see how those stack up. read more

A true mom 'n pop eatery that just makes you want to come back all the time thanks to its delicious and affordable food and top-notch service. This place is such a hidden gem! They had so many sandwich and wrap options, so it was actually difficult for me to decide what I wanted. I ended up getting a veggie sandwich and a soup for under $12. The chicken chowder soup I got could've had a bit more chicken, but it was delicious nonetheless. The sandwich was good, although I do wish the bread had been a better quality bread. Colorful shop - it's your typical casual cafe with limited seating that is more geared oriented towards grab and go. Based off the one roll I ate, I'm not quite sure if the taste of the food matches what I've been seeing on other reviews. Nice little place on Cambridge St. in Cambridge. My son recommended picking up some soup from here. The owner gave us samples of each kind so we could decide which ones we wanted to get. They were all super yummy. We got a Cream of Spinach and a Chicken Barley soup and took them home to share. The only downside is the hours-only open 9-5 Mon- Fri. There are tons of healthy options (hummus & veggie roll up anyone?) and will gladly accommodate any substitutions. With the cool weather soon to be upon us, be sure to check out their soup. You can get a quart for only $5.95!!! And it is SO delicious & filling. They also have a soup & half sandwich combo for $5.75. A big (think Seinfeld) garden salad will only set you back $3.25. Most wraps are in the $4.75 to $5.50 range. I highly recommend the chicken caesar wrap or salad. The smoked turkey club roll up is also amazing. What the menu lacks for size it certainly makes up in quality. Whenever I need to be cheered up, this is the place to go. Not just because of the wonderful food, but also because of the owner Sophie. Once you tell her your name she will never forget it (I don't know how she does it!). As soon as I walk in she greets me with a great big smile and "Oh Melissa! So nice to see you!" If I could I would eat lunch here every day. Sadly, their hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00-5:00, which is when I work. But when I have a day off for some reason, this is THE place to go. I've only had the pleasure so far of coming here twice, and you almost feel like you're stepping into your grandmother's kitchen. It's very homey, and Sophie is the sweetest, nicest woman you could ever meet. They offer delicious and healthy food, including several soups and sandwiches. I don't think you can possibly go wrong with anything on the menu. Personally I love the chicken tarragon sandwich. It's so big, half of it will fill you up. I got one yesterday, and ate it in stages. Another thing I love about this place is that the prices are very inexpensive for what you get. I only paid $5 for my sandwich! read more

This is my favorite lunch place! The food is always delicious. Many of the items are fairly standard rollup and salads, but there's just a bit more attention to the subtle details that you ordinarily expect. I love the Greek salad rollup with chicken. The chicken is marinated in a tarragon dressing. The feta cheese is flavorful and fresh. There are so many different veggies in the salad. Really healthy and really delicious. Also, the owner, Soon (probably spelled different) is the always really friendly and personable. Obviously the business is suffering during the Covid epidemic. I love Souper Roll Up so much! I have been living in the Cambridge/Somerville area since 2007 and this was one of the first local places I visited. The soup is SO fresh, homemade and very comforting. I have tried the Chicken Noodle (it is literally HEALING!), the Chicken Lemon Rice, the Chicken Ginger Rice, the Carrot and Ginger, the Mushroom, the Chicken Lentil and the Chicken Minestrone. Delicious. They also do a type of "you pick two" deal where you can get half of a sandwich with either soup or fruit salad. I like the Fresh Mozzarella sandwich and the California roll-up. Basically whatever you get here will be fresh, healthy and delicious, and it will be served with a smile. Soun, one of the owners, will remember your name every time you visit. read more

What a great little find! I wanted some soup but didn't want to go to a generic panera's or au bon pan so I started yelping and came across this little gem! As soon as I walked in the place exuded cozy and warm. The guy at the register was friendly and smiley, and then another man came from out back to welcome me. The lettuce and sprouts were crunchy; the tomato, ripe. The chicken was moist, flavorful and all breast meat. The soup starred - curry danced and chunky potatoes flaked away. It's been a while since I've been here due to schedule, but good gracious they have awesome wraps and soup (especially soup)! I really liked their tarragon chicken roll-up/wrap, which was nicely seasoned/herbed giving the chicken that little extra chicken so desperately needs with a nice, sweetish dressing and beautiful greens and crunchy bacon bits. The show stopper was the soup though, ginger carrot mmmmmm-MMMMMMM. The carrots and ginger both play off each other so well making the soup warmingly sweet with a little bit of a kick from the ginger. The combo is so worth it (I think it was like $6.50/7.00 or so). I used to get it whenever I could. The proprietors are super friendly! It's one of those establishments that when you get food there you feel like a friend or family with the warmth they show you, whether it's your first time or thousandth. Ohhhh I really wish I liked Souper Roll Up Cafe. It's the kind of place I *want* to like -- it's humble, clean, and in East Cambridge. The people who run it are *lovely*. But whenever I've gotten soup from them I've had the impression that they use flour or cornstarch as a thickener, with a resulting texture that gives the impression that it came from a can -- even if it didn't. I haven't visited too many times, because each time I get something it feels like Campbell's in my mouth. Such was the case with the broccoli-dill soup I had recently. This could just be a matter of taste. My mom fed us homemade soups throughout the winter, and I occasionally make soups myself. If I want to thicken a soup I might add some pureed potato, which increases the density of a soup without giving it that suspiciously smooth quality. Your soup preferences might be different from mine, and if so you might appreciate Souper Cafe more than I do. read more

Souper Rollup is located on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge on the Boston side of Inman Square. it is a cozy and friendly little neighborhood spot run by a wonderful couple who are as kind and sweet as all of the reviews below say they are. The service here is second to none in terms of efficiency, friendliness, and overall hospitality. There are many fine dining establishments that could learn from the earnest and sincere graciousness of the owners. I have had more than a dozen different types of soup here in the past two years and have been pleased with all of them. I noticed earlier a woman reviewed the soup and said she did not care for the texture. I am sure they do not use cornstarch to thicken their soups, it seems to me that they use a roux, made out of flour and butter (just a guess, but quite different from cornstarch IMHO). Regardless, they always have an unthickened soup on the menu so if you do not care for roux thickened soups there is always an alternative. They source their breads from local bakeries, they buy their chicken from Mayflower (down the street), they use incredibly fresh ingredients, and it shows. Everything is made in house from scratch and the food is simply incredible. I have not had a better experience in East Cambridge and I am sincerely not easily impressed. So thanks for all the great sandwiches and healthy healing soups. My family and I absolutely adore this spot and urge anyone to give them a try. My single complaint is that they are closed on Sunday which is my day off with my wife and daughter so we have to find another place to go for Sunday lunch. read more

Much to the dismay of the boyfriend, I don't like Souper Roll Up all that much. I do, but my roll up was neither super nor uber! Here's why: I ordered the California wrap, on the recommendation of the lady at the counter- mixed greens, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, avocado, red onions, mild cheddar, and vinaigrette dressing. There wasn't much of a "mixed" to the greens, except lettuce with lettuce. The avocado was a bit under-ripe, and there were barely any alfalfa sprouts, if any. And I looooove alfalfa sprouts. Even though they kinda look like pubic hair sometimes. Well, much better than a frisee salad. Maybe they don't have sprouts that day or the guy forget to put it in, but my California wrap seemed more like a lettuce wrap. Good tomato soup. But would've been better with a nice slice of crusty bread. The counter lady was super nice, so I'd definitely return to try a breakfast wrap if I'm in the area. read more

It was too hot today, on my first visit, for soup. Instead I opted for fruit salad with my grilled veggie sandwich. Sandwich and salad were both delicious, and the fruit salad was especially welcome in the heat. It's generous, too, with cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew melon, and pineapple. And the owner (I assume, at the counter) is friendly and welcoming. I've walked, driven, and biked past this place a hundred times without giving it a second thought (goofy name, I guess). I went into the cafe on June 23rd (my birthday) to grab a quick banana-avocado smoothie before work. I really wanted this to be a 5 star review, I really did. I was so excited for an awesome place to get soup. While the staff is 5 stars, the food only deserves 3. Souper Roll Up Cafe is a pretty small establishment, but when I went in, there was no one else there, so it had a really nice relaxed atmosphere. I ordered a #11 half roll up and a cup of chicken lime rice soup combo with a sparkling water for about $9. Sophie, who was amazingly nice by the way, asked if I wanted bread with my soup, which I did, and brought everything out to me. I ate the wrap first. The vegetables were nice, fresh and crunchy, but the bacon was cold and the sandwich on a whole lacked flavor. The bread was quite uninspired and the soup was quite salty and I really couldn't taste the chicken or the lime. It's a really nice place run by great people. I just wish the food was a bit tastier. read more

Great cozy little place to grab a fresh roll-up at a very reasonable price. I always go for the #9 marinated roasted chicken roll-up and any of their soups taste amazing. The portion size is very generous. Eating a roll-up can get a bit messy but nothing a knife and fork can't fix. They also do half roll-up and half soup which is great if you want to try both. I work in the Kendall sq area and have made the mile walk to get food there. It's an overall amazing place with fresh food and friendly and pleasant people. read more
