What an excellent little gem in Arlington. They make tasty juices full of nutrients, excellent sandwiches with great ingredients and other tasty treats like smoothies. We have Also had their salads which are good. I would highly recommend this place if you want to have lunch and feel good after. I really like their seitan which I've had twice in the past week and a half, and like the spices and sauces they put on their salads and sandwiches. We give them a high recommendation!

Our family of plant-based and non plant-based eaters love this place! It's our go-to for quick, healthy lunches, fresh-pressed juice (try the Grateful Garden) and since they have added holiday catering-- hello, vegan cheesecake! for that, too! Everything is always super fresh and our favorite everyday menu item is the Thrive Roll with added tempeh and their vegan ranch (SO good!) They have been also rolling out some take & reheat meals like vegan pot pie that are DELICIOUS and super convenient for weeknight meals. Derek, the owner, is very friendly ... and fans of the former Fruition Vegan Kitchen in Medford will be happy to see Bob has joined the team at Thrive. Highly recommend.

Cookies and cream smoothie! So good!

Thrive is amazing! I went again today and tried their next seasonal smoothie - cookies and cream! It was absolutely perfect, a yummy treat for this warm winter day. I'm a huge fan of this place and appreciate the good quality ingredients that I get to put into my body. I drank a lot of their smoothies while pregnant and now get them to enjoy while on a walk with my baby. They are all dairy free with different kinds of non dairy milk options, so that''s helpful if you are avoiding dairy while breast feeding. Love this place! Arlington is lucky to have Thrive! I listened to Derek, the owner, talk to another customer about different menu options, and you can tell he is passionate about making healthy and delicious food for everyone.

My current fav: power refresh sub OJ for the coconut water. Second fav: tropical splash.

Happy Roots juice. I didn't think to take a pic until after I drank most of it.

After a night out with friends and one too many glasses of wine last night, I was searching for a good, natural juice & smoothie bar to help replenish my energy and help cleanse the toxins I consumed. This place is exactly what I was looking for. I don't particularly care for beets or beet juice, but their Happy Roots juice was perfectly blended with apple, carrot and ginger. It was actually quite tasty and enjoyable! Also, I had a light lunch of their Avocado Roll with mildly spicy peanut sauce. Very tasty. I will definitely be back!

So happy to find a vegan food place near Belmont! In addition to smoothies and cold pressed juice, they have hot foods like seitan gyro and chicken Parm. I got the seitan gyro and it is 100% delicious!! I tasted so many wonderful flavors and appreciated the fresh veggies inside, all wrapped in the softest yummiest bread. My daughter loved her custom mango strawberry raspberry orange juice smoothie. We will be back fo

The quiche was rich, custardy and denser than I expected, and the small salad helped balance the richness (wish it was a bit bigger), but I was full by the end. Counter and food running service was quick and I had no problem grabbing a table. Got the pineapple passionfruit matcha bombe for a dessert - while I liked the fruity filling I didn't care much for how dominant the white chocolate flavor was, so that was a miss for me, especially given it was a couple bucks less than my lunch. Regardless it has a huge menu and it's a decent quick cafe option in the neighborhood.

The layout is great- an oversized island buzzing with hot and iced drink orders, cozy seating as you walk in and even more space on the far side with a perfect view of their pastry display. We kicked off my daughter's 7:30 birthday breakfast here and it couldn't have been better. She picked the shakshuka that had perfectly runny poached eggs- it was hearty and satisfying. My scrambled egg+fontina grilled cheese hit the spot too. But the real magic was their insanely rich Valrhona hot chocolate that reminded me of my favorite cup from a spot in White Plains, NY. I mean....it was pure bliss. So were the decadent chocolate mousse cup my daughter has raved about the few times she's come here. Coming here was hands-down an unforgettable start to the day. Service is great and Tatte is the kind of place I'd come back to anytime I'm in town. This is an Israeli bakery-café that knows how to make every detail count.

I took my wife and two kids to Tryst today for Mother's Day brunch. More than a week ago, I…read morereserved a table for 10:15 am; on Tryst's website, when you reserve a table, you're given a choice of "High tops," "low tables," and "outdoor." I reserved a "low table" due to the fact that I have two young children (I've included a screenshot of my reservation). When we arrived, we were promptly seated - at a high top table. I advised the hostess that we had reserved a low table; she indicated she could change our table, but that we would have to wait. This despite the fact that the restaurant was 90% empty. Fine. We stayed at the high top table - which, in addition to being elevated, had the disadvantage of being very small. Not a great fit, in short, for young kids. After a surprisingly long time, we finally ordered. Tryst was offering a 2-course prix fixe Mother's Day brunch menu; my wife and I ordered from this menu, while the kids ordered from the children's menu. We asked the waiter if my daughter could have a fruit bowl; he said 'sure, would strawberries and blueberries be ok.' Yes, indeed they would. At 10:50, the kids' meals and my first course were brought to the table - including a small bowl of just blueberries for my daughter (not a single strawberry). Nothing for my wife - a.k.a. "mom," the honoree of today's festivities. At 10:55, I asked the waiter when my wife's food would arrive. He said it was on its way. At 11:03 - nearly 15 minutes after everyone else had been served - my wife's first course - avocado toast w/ salmon - finally arrived. At 11:04, the 2nd courses were also served. Now we're stuck on a very small high top table with all our courses (since I had refrained from eating my first course while waiting for my wife's to be served), all at once. I asked to speak to a manager. After 5-10 minutes, he came out. I noted how we had been seated at the wrong type of table, how my daughter had been offered (!) a fruit cup with blueberries and strawberries but received only the former and - most importantly - how my wife's main course was now cold before she even had a chance to start it. He apologized, had some strawberries brought out and offered to bring out a new main course for my wife. We declined. Why? Well, because our two young children had finished eating 20 minutes earlier, and certainly wouldn't have the patience to wait another who-knows-how-long for another main course to be brought out (I remind you: it's is now ~ 11:15 and we have now been at the restaurant for a full hour). My wife also had no desire to be the only one eating at the table. The manager indicated he would remedy the situation otherwise - but no other remedy was offered or received (so: no comps, no discount, nothing). To be clear: I would never have complained - never mind bothered to write a review! - if it was simply a matter of the wrong table and strawberry-less fruit cups. I mention these only because they're both examples of the same unforced error: setting an expectation that Tryst then fails to meet. I would, however, normally have given them a pass on this; after all, we all have bad days. What I can't pass over, however, is that, through sheer incompetence, my wife was effectively asked to dine alone, on Mother's Day - something anathema to the whole idea of a Mother's Day Brunch - and neither the staff nor the manager seemed to consider this a real problem. Whence this review. My wife and I have been patronizing Tryst for, I think, more than 10 years. We will not be going back.

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.
