Was in the area running errands on a Sat so I stopped in for brunch. I live the were variety of menu options and the ability to order breakfast, lunch or dinner at anytime. I had a yummy grilled cinnamon roll (took half home) plus the eggs, toast, potatoes and steak tips meal. Large serving- I took 1/2 the steak home to throw on a salad. Service was friendly and my meal was delicious. There's a large parking lot just down the street- I was lucky to grab a metered spot out front. Great for families and groups. read more

Sad. Went for lunch. It wasn't busy. Five servers/greeters were standing around chatting. Tables left unclean for an unreasonably long time. Our server was pleasant but got distracted and forgot our drinks/refills. We waited 1/2 hour for our food and when it arrived it was dry and overcooked. This is another visit here because I am starting off with starting my New Year's resolution (which was to try something different in places I eat). My husband and myself shared a meal here because I had wanted to try this dish when I saw someone else ordered it (and I couldn't get someone else to try it with me). Our server was great and he kept asking us if we needed anything else and was very cheerful with us. We came mid afternoon so there were seats available with little wait time. The food was good, the portions were decent, and while the prices are a bit on the high side for what you get, the atmosphere is fun and reminiscent of a classic 1950s diner. The coffee, however, left much to be desired--it was very weak for my taste. On the plus side, they don't mind if you grab a coffee next door from Peet's and bring it in, which I thought was a nice touch. What a weird place This area of Arlington is filled with nerdy stuff. Tonight there's Cat Video Fest next door. We come in here for Wednesday trivia 8pm-10pm. 5 stars: Mozzarella sticks. I know they're good anywhere but they're GREAT here. They might be made like fish and chips? Light and bubbly somehow. 4 stars: Vegan breakfast wrap. It's actually very good, even if it's a little weird. They don't try to fake eggs, it's made with hummus. So more like a falafel wrap, but it's good! 1 star: The salsa that comes with the wrap. It looked like pico de gallo that had been made a week before and seen its better days. 4.5 stars: The fries. Thick, thick breading, crunchy 1 star: Caesar chicken wrap. No. I feel like they might have been reading their reviews, the #1 thing I saw people furious about in here was poor donut availability. Busy nights tend to sell out fast, upsetting event goers wandering in for the name. They had a full menu of donuts available tonight even after trivia, normally those would be gone by 7. They should consider putting leftovers on Too Good To Go like the other locations do! read more

Came here with my family and had a wonderful experience! I am so thankful they have an entire menu for vegans with plenty of options! I opted for the Vegan Chocolate Covered Strawberry Waffle and it was even as magical as I imagined! There was a little disappointment in that the menu described it as having whipped cream and it's even pictured with whipped cream, but sadly it was missing that. Nevertheless, it was still very decadent and the texture was soft and pillowy with a good crunchiness on the outside. I loved the chocolate and strawberry mixture and it had just the perfect t amount of sweetness without being sickeningly so. I also loved the vegan bacon as it was crispy and salty and really hit the spot. It really mimics bacon well! The service was very friendly and personable. The booth seating was so comfortable and the ambiance was upbeat and lively. Parking was a little difficult in the area but we were able to find a meter a block away. read more

We brought our two grandchildren at the Donut Villa because they wanted donuts and waffles. They enjoyed the donuts. The omelette my wife and I had were so so. They lacked spice and tasted pretty blah. The service was friendly and good. I don't think we would rush back for another brunch or breakfast but will say it is in a convenient location. read more

Great place to go to meet up with a friend. It's not just donuts! Casual atmosphere and usually easy to get a seat. They are an asset to the town because of the fun events that are held there. This place was honestly such a let down. DAY 1: I went on Thursday night after a show at the theatre around the corner. A place called the Donut Villa! Open late at night in Massachusetts where weed is legal! Surely this place will have a large array of donuts for those with the munchies or people like me who want a little late night snack right? ...wrong. We came in around 9pm (2 hours before closing) and it was really cute with 50's diner inspired decor inside. When the waitress came over, I already knew I wanted to try a donut, of course, from a place called the Donut Villa! My heart was set on the chocolate raspberry cream donut I saw on the seasonal menu which was right up my alley. The waitress rudely said there weren't any donuts left besides what was in the case up front. So we got up and went back to the front to see what was left: a ginormous apple fritter and a chocolate chip twist. No classic donuts, no chocolate raspberry cream. Then my friend decided she wanted something small and she asked for the penne alla vodka and the waitress told her that was for kids only, adults were not allowed to order from the kids menu. Now, not only do I believe it ridiculous to refuse any kind of business, something I've only ever seen enforced at Applebee's of all places, but also why would there be no penne alla vodka on the regular menu? We almost left but my friend wanted to still hang out and debrief from the show and since it was late, nothing else seemed to be open, so we stayed and shared the grilled cinnamon roll. Cloyingly sweet and dry to be honest, not sticky and gooey like a normal cinnamon roll. A bit disappointed, we didn't finish it. DAY 2: I was staying in a hotel nearby and wanted to give the place a second try, especially since part of the bad taste the place left in my mouth was from a waitress that could've just been having a bad night, and their breakfast menu looked promising from the night before. I ordered the Boston cream pancakes, scrambled eggs and, of course, that chocolate raspberry donut (for delivery while working remotely). I will say it was delivered quicker than anticipated which was nice. Now I am aware that scrambled eggs probably do not travel well under normal circumstances, but I also know overcooked scrambled eggs when I taste them. These were very overcooked. The pancakes were nothing special either, also a tad overcooked and dry. The Boston cream was fine. I got it with banana added which they put in between each pancake layer with the cream, a commendable choice. The chocolate sauce was the best part in my opinion. The donut was good, but it was put in a paper bag instead of a box so the cream stuck more to the bag than the donut. I had to smear it back on after getting it out. It was good, I did like the cream and there was A LOT of it. I halved the donut and the pancakes and saved them for later because they both were so big and filling. I only ate the leftovers because I felt I had to. Overall I was disappointed in my experience. The only thing I liked was the donut but it's not something I'd go out of my way to get again. Great ambiance and staff! Went for brunch at 10:30 AM on a Saturday and was seated right away. My waiter Collin was great! Yeah it's named "Donut Villa" but don't let the name fool you - while the donuts are good they are not the highlight - it's the other food and not just the breakfast. The worst thing about this place it trying to choose breakfast or lunch food. Service is generally good - occasionally it can be a bit slow - but even when slow is generally kind and polite. The Boston Cream pancakes are amazing. Any of the red velvet items are great. The Reuben is fantastic - nice and squished thin. Even silly things like the fun coffee cups are enjoyable. Have probably been 10+ times at this point and it will continue to be a local go-to option. read more

Absolutely awful! A friend came to visit me from Colorado. She is celiac. She was given two donuts for pick up. The one she ate was definitely not gluten-free! About an hour after eating it she became extremely sick! We are in the middle of Harvard College doing a tour. She was so sick there was nothing we could do for a while. We had to go home and she was out for the whole day. The rest of her stay with me was hard because if you know people that are celiac once it becomes in your system, it takes weeks to recover. You are tired and your stomach just isn't right. She had drove out here so not only did affect her stay, but it affected her drive home. The staff definitely needs to be more knowledge. When reaching out to the manager and owner. There was no responsibility taken. Very disappointing. For saying that they have a big gluten-free menu. Doesn't sound like they really take it seriously. We held our cycling club annual party at Donut Villa. the food and service were excellent. Everyone was happy. We had vegans in our group, and Erin @ Donut Villa made sure they had plenty of delicious options. they have a great selection of beers on draft. Donut Villa made every possible effort to accommodate our needs, and was the best deal of all the venues we looked at (15!). They have an excellent PA and a HUGE screen for making presentations. I ordered the "Avo Toast Two slices of multigrain with our avocado hummus, fresh mozzarella, tomato & cucumber topped with two eggs cooked any style" With "Avo" in the name, you would assume that there would be a noticable amount of avocado in the dish. Instead there was a thin smear of some green paste on the toast. And the toast was burnt! I requested poached eggs. They arrived on top of cold minced tomato and cucumber which cooled the eggs down to room temperature. When I pointed out the burnt toast the dish was replaced with the explanation that "someone had set the toaster too high." How could a dish have been allowed to leave the kitchen in that state? Service was laidback to the point of non-existence. They were not busy, it was a very slow Monday lunch time. I will not go back again. read more

I asked about getting a Boston Cream donut but never got an update if they were available or if there was an alternative. Honestly kind of forgot until the food came that I had asked about the donut. I had a BLT and swapped out fries for sweet potato fries, husband had sliders and kids shared kids mac and cheese. Bacon was good but lettuce was super wet. Sliders were tasty. I really want to like this place but the food is average and the service is incomprehensibly slow. Nice huge menu, great for kids, full bar, and a lively atmosphere should make it an easy win. I've waited 20 minutes to even have a waiter come to the table even when there were only about five tables populated. Food took another 45 minutes on top of that for uncomplicated dishes. I'm in town visiting from Atlanta and my friend took me here for dinner last night. I was very impressed! I love the diner look and feel, our waitress was fun, but the best thing was my food. I had the chicken philly. My standard go to back home is getting a chicken philly, but Donut Villa blew every place I'd ever been out of the water. It is by far the best chicken philly I've ever had. We have been here numerous times since it opened and have not been disappointed. We have brought vegans and vegetarians, and there's something for everyone. They have a whole vegan page in the menu. I typically get the eggs benny and will split something sweet. Today a friend and I shared the donut bread pudding, and it was AMAZING. My four year old likes to eat here too. She's had the Mac and cheese and pancakes. I like that they have special kids cups. Bathrooms are clean here too. A win for everyone. read more
