There was some minor issues but the most glaring was the check engine light. David said the issues would be taken care of, go to lunch and come back in a couple of hours. He called me and said they needed a part that would not be there until Monday. David paid for my flight home and said the truck would be shipped to me. I received the truck late the next week. When driving from where I received the truck, the check engine light came on. I notified him of this issue and he said to have it fixed locally and he would reimburse me. It has been several months and many texts and calls and still no reimbursement. Up until this point, David lived up to his word but I am extremely disappointed to have to write a partial negative review due to not receiving this promised reimbursement. In addition, the check engine issue took two times to resolve, the second requiring an additional cost which I decided to absorb thinking I would get the promised reimbursement. In closing, David did live up to his word on everything until this reimbursement issue so I can't give a 5 star review due to this

The front desk team was so nice & even let me wait in their (very nice) waiting room while I waited on roadside assistance, which wasn't going well. Andrew, an employee actually ended up changing my tire for me ON HIS BREAK, which I thought was such an above & beyond action, so because of this whole inconvenient situation that turned out to be so lovely, I plan to revisit this Carmax for when I'm ready to become an actual customer. Thanks Andrew & Carmax Irving Team!

I want to share my experience so future buyers know what to expect. I test drove a 2022 Lexus ES…read more350 F Sport on October 21, 2025, and immediately noticed that both front USB ports were inoperative and the SOS button cover was broken. My sales associate confirmed the issues and assured me their shop would repair everything while I completed the financing steps and a trade-in pre-approval quote. The process quickly became a long, confusing ordeal. Parts were ordered, but the first shipment arrived defective. The second shipment also failed to fix the issue. No clear updates came from management, and the timelines kept shifting. I asked why the vehicle could not simply be taken to Lexus under its factory warranty, and no one could give me a clear answer. It was only after I reached out to CarMax corporate that the vehicle was finally sent to a Lexus dealership on November 4. According to my sales associate, the car has been sitting with Lexus ever since, with no solid updates and continued delays. Even today, December 2, I am still being told dates are pushed and that they are "waiting for more updates." Throughout all of this, I did everything required on my end. What I did not receive was consistent communication, accurate timelines, or involvement from management. My sales associate tried his best, but even he seemed to struggle to get information from their service department. What makes this more frustrating is that the entire situation could have been avoided. CarMax advertises a thorough inspection before a vehicle is listed for sale. If that inspection had truly been done, the dead USB ports and broken SOS cover would have been caught early, repaired, and the car would never have been presented as sale-ready. Instead, the problem was passed on to me. Had I actually traded in my current vehicle, I would have been without transportation for more than six weeks. I am disappointed by the delays and the lack of leadership response. I hope sharing this helps future buyers make informed decisions, and I hope CarMax takes steps to improve how vehicles are inspected and how customers are communicated with during repairs.

Well it's now 2026 and I finally traded in our 2022 Niro Hybrid for a 2026 Sportage Hybrid and I…read morereally thought things would go real easy and honest and upfront as getting my Niro serviced at this dealership, also I thought things would be like how they advertised on TV. Let me start from the beginning so you all don't miss a thing. Clay Cooley's Sales personnel are great especially our salesperson ( Braydon Sorensen). He is well educated in about everything Kia for one thing, which is always nice so you get to hear about all the extras about the vehicles. Although we didn't really get to know the sales management, they to appeared to be on par just as Mr. Sorensen was. So sales department is top notch and conducted themselves just as the service department has always treated us. Absolutely no complaints about the sales department. Now we get to the finance department and one Mr. Marcel Yanto. In a 1 to 10 rating 10 being the worst, he rates up around 20. He conducts business like how a con man plays the three shell game (slide of hand). It starts with this extremely long wait just to get in to see him. Now I know a little about this routine, it is designed to get you feeling the need to hurry and get this over with cause your so tired of waiting. It is done so the customer won't dwell on having to see and read everything before they sign it. It gives the finance people a chance to slide things by without ever showing the customer what they are actually signing. Now having everything done electronically also sets up the customer for more slide of hand stuff. If you ever done any signing of documents electronically you know you have to get your signature added to the electronic document before you start actually using it to sign the documents, and this is what we thought we were doing only to find out we were actually signing documents without ever seeing them. He was having us sign documents without actually showing us the complete documents stating that he would fill out most of them later after we were all done in so not to keep us waiting there any longer then needed. We were real fools for trusting him to do the right thing, and because of the rest of the dealership has always been so upfront and honest with us Mr. Yanto took us for thousands of dollars. And their Family Guarantee is only good if you can actually get a hold of anyone to help you. We got so fixated on canceling Ally VSC and Ally Maintenance (it costed $5100.00), we never got around to even looking at all the documents we had signed blindly. To start with we didn't get a copy of all the documents we signed, all we got were the Vehicle Buyers order and the Ally paper work along with a bunch of paper work stating our rights and stuff like that. No copies of any of the power of attorney stuff (there were like three as I remember being told we had signed that he would fill out later again to save us time. Also although almost everyone thanked me for my service to the country it was never added to the deal for an extra $500.00 off the price of the vehicle as it states in the about Clay Cooley paper work. We never got the window sticker like you almost always are offered it, and I know why now. Because of the Cooley advertisement of paying what's on the sticker and adds stating of so much off the sticker price. I saw the window sticker for the Sportage we purchased and it said including freight and handling it was just over 34 thousand, but when I see the price on the "Vehicle Buyer's Order " it stated it was in the 36 thousand neighborhood including freight and handling. So right there is $2500.00 in the slid of hand game. Final thoughts is I can't trust anything this dealership does and if at all possible I will never ever even drive my vehicle on any of their car lots ever again. I realize the mistakes I made in trusting that this Clay Cooley Dealership would conduct business as they say they do, and I should have demanded to see the documents we were signing. For this I guess it's on me and they owe me nothing, but keep in mind this is most definitely a "Buyer Beware Dealership" and is not to be trusted to do the right thing, it's on you. See them first, see them last, but do not let your guard down. Good Luck.

I would like to give and update as I feel my last review I was WAY too premature on writing and…read morejust haven't wanted to even re open this book until my latest visit at Clay Cooley Kia. Where does one begin when speaking about the Clay Cooley Kia? Well let's rewind to April 2024. I took my 2021 Kia telluride in for 80k maintenance and after paying over $1200 fully off my card same day for work done my fate was sealed. They did work on my breaks, alignment and spark plugs and then recalls. 1 was for a sensor under the hood and other was drive shaft. After getting my car back it was riding rough and I mean ROUGH. So I took it back and after MULTIPLE TIMES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP their "iPad" technicians "couldn't find anything wrong" I paid a insane amount of money trying to fix my car at this dealership. My card not once declined and I even was forced to take out a loan to get the final attempted fix which was to replace the throttle body, which even then I was back and forth to recalibrate it or whatever tinkering they felt like doing that day. In all I was in and out of rental cars for 3 yes 3 months and even had to take a small sedan of theirs to Houston for a close relatives funeral. I drive a vehicle with a third row for a reason. My whole family wasn't able to attend said funeral due to my car sitting on their lot. Anyways finally we got to a point where they didn't know what was wrong, Kia "expert tech" couldn't figure it out, so simply they weren't going to "be able to continue to work on it and I needed to call Kia" even mentioned lemon law. My car wasn't a lemon and was a great vehicle UNTIL I brought it into this dealership. Well after MONTHS YES MONTHS of back and forth with Kia's corporate office in CA I was informed that I wouldn't be receiving any of my money I had paid in back (at that point including loan we were over $3k) OR refunded my payments I had made while my car sat at the dealership and I was in a rental. I made 3 payments while driving a rental. To this day my car high idles and jumps when you let your foot off the break. Fast forward to last week 2/10/26 I get a letter in the mail of course from Clay Cooley mentioning an opportunity to get out of my car or refinance. Which either way I'm interested. I call and speak to Kevin. He sets up an appointment for me for 2/14/26 at 9:30 and says if I'm not able to find a new OR USED car I like the we can just refinance. Went in and ended up with a lady who was nice but looked terrified (we did not catch her name) immediately were talking new cars. Ok fine even though I said multiple times I don't want a new one because of the previous mess I ended up in. Whatever we test drive 2 and my messed up telluride is nicer on the inside and all in all a better vehicle. First one I test drove smelled like something under the hood was burning... ok so I told the lady I didn't want to waste mine or her time and to let me know what they valued my telluride at as I really wasn't trying to waste anyone's time. Ok so she says yeah we can totally do that. Then asks if I wanted to get paper work going which I said again I wanted to know the value of my car and that if I didn't find something I could refinance. She said yeah we can do that if we can't find something. Great filled it out and then she starts talking kias again. Well I wanted to look at some used ones I'd seen online that weren't Kia's and all of asudden we had a problem. They ran my credit and then I was informed that I couldn't go to any other clay cooley dealerships with that hard inquiry and only could shop at the one it was ran at. WTF. No "Hey ma'am I know you said you wanted used and not a Kia so you may want to go to another dealership in the franchise" nada. And then once I turned them down on their ridiculous attempt at getting me to sign on a new car that was going to yes lower my payments by $40 bucks a month but start me over at 5 years minimum I'm informed that refinancing really wasn't an option. Livid doesn't describe how I felt cause yet again I "didn't delay and came to see Clay" and was screwed over. Avoid this company at all cost. I am also am looking to go to the news with my experience and stack of documents because HOW. HOW CAN YOU TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY!!??? Google wouldn't let me continue typing so here I am on Yelp letting the world know!! I've worked my tail off to get my credit right and was done so dirty yesterday that I'm BESIDE MYSELF with how much info was withheld starting with the not mentioning I couldn't go to any other Clay Cooley dealership even though from the moment I spoke with Kevin on the phone I mentioned used OR refinance. And let me tell you how once I said I just wanted to refinance everyone stopped moving LOL. That letter that was sent to me y'all was straight up false advertising and deceptive practice that now only I am going to be feeling the effects of for the next two years.
