Been a long time customer. Took my car in for an inspection. Never coming back. Employee brought my cabin filter and my engine filter for me to see. Told me my engine filter is clean. Why would you need to show me my filter is clean? Then said my cabin filter was dirty and he could replace it for 60 dollars. I politely declined and he literally stomped off like a child. When I received my car back and turned on my AC. Dust and dirt blew into the cabin. I opened my glove box and he had installed the filter backwards. I don't take making an accusation likely, but there is a thief here and at a minimum you need to make sure you have nothing of value out in the open if you bring your business to this location. This was my go to place to do business too; I just gave them over $500 of business on two vehicles just a month ago. This incident occurred during a visit for a state inspection required for vehicle registration. Right before I pulled in I saw that my Dragy device; an electronic speed vs distance datalogger, was in the center console of my truck with the charging cord plugged into it and was flashing red; and I thought to myself it needs to be charged. So if I hadn't seen it right before pulling in then I might think it had been lifted somewhere else. When I parked my truck here the doors were locked and windows up. After the service was completed, I left and was about a mile away when I remembered it needed to be plugged in for charging. Except it wasn't there to charge. I turned right around, went back, and got the manager. Nobody would return it so the Irving police department came and a report was filed; Report# 21-27675. Just like the name suggests, Kwik Kar off MacArthur is QUICK, professional and efficient. I went in on the weekend to get my state inspection done. I did call ahead but they weren't doing appointments for that - it's just first come first serve. I was in and out within maybe 15 minutes if that! Pricing also seems reasonable. I had another car servicing center in desoto but need a new spot since moving to the Irving area. I can definitely see myself returning for other car services. On 04/18/22 I took my Audi to Kwik Kar Valley Ranch in Irving for oil change. I brought my own oil filter, oil and air filter. They slapped me a bill of $114.40 for the labors that also included the drain plug part On Friday evening 05/06/22 (~3 weeks after oil change), my Audi displayed the dreaded "oil running low warning" light on the dashboard. I adamantly thought this was a serious problem somewhere like gasket leak. So I took it to my trusted mechanics (Ruben's All Auto Repair) immediately On Monday 05/09/22 my trusted mechanics discovered the issue. The oil plug was missing the washer, causing the oil leaking!!! Apparently those Kwik Kar mechanics carelessly forgot to put the washer back when they done. My trusted mechanics had to special ordered the new washer, poured additional ~ 3 quarts of oil and cleaned all oil leaks that spilled under the car along the axle, etc. A bill of $175 to fix what Kwik Kar had damaged Returning to Kwik Kwar, I initially was calm having conversation w the manager who claimed a new company is taking over Kwik Kwar. He mentioned this excuse several times. My angry rebuttal was pointing to his shirt, "what is the name of the company labeling on your shirt! It spells Kwik Kar, not new company." He then claimed the Kwik Kar mechanics who worked that 04/18/22 weekend also messed up other cars including a Jaguar!!!! Bashing his own employees and said they were let go!!! I pressed him about what he can right the wrong w the $114.40 messed up job? His response, "we cannot reimburse you. But we can give you free oil change if you come back next time" 1. "Y'all cost me $175 just now. Why would I want to come back for another whack job!" 2. "You telling me this verbally! How will the next manager I talk to in 10 months knows the deal you giving me?" Most absurd idiotic answer I heard in a long time, "I'll be here when you come back!!!" He also refused to give me store credit. He then wrote down a promised note about free oil change instead. The technician explained to me some of the problems that he saw that may occur down the road since my car is an older Camry. Compared to other Kwik Kar's in the Dallas area that I have been too, this one was a lot nicer, cleaner and had very friendly staff. I've been doing business with this place for at least 25 years. I went in today to get an oil change the gentleman asked me what type of oil change I would want and he started talking to me about the prices. When they finished my car, I went to go pay and he stated it was over $60 for an oil change. I ask him how a $39 oil change came out to be $60 and he said that he thought I said I wanted a synthetic oil change. The last thing I want to do is to pay $60 for an oil change. Had to get my truck inspected and I called to see if I needed an appointment and they told me to just bring it in. The guys that assisted me were pleasant and fun and got me in and out within like 15 minutes if that! I had been to another Kwik Kar in a different part of DFW a few years ago and they tried to sell me on everything under the sun that didn't need to be fixed in the first place and badgered me until the flat out told me he wouldn't pass me unless I got the light on the back of my truck cab replaced which was 14$. I said yes bc I just wanted to get out of there with my inspection done. Needless to say this Kwik Kar is now my favorite and I will be back again and telling my friends and family just how awesome they where here! read more

I needed an oil change, and although my MS state inspection sticker wouldn't expire till August, my MS license plates expire at the end of April...so I figured I'd go ahead & get a TX inspection so I'd be ready to get my TX plates in a couple weeks. The guy at the front desk, I'm assuming was the owner, and he was very nice. He even explained to me what all I needed to bring with me when i go to get my plates here, along with telling me where the closest couple of offices are, and giving me pretty solid directions (that I understood! wow!). The oil change & inspection didn't take too long, probably under 30 minutes, and it was very busy -- Saturday afternoon! -- the technician in the garage did try to sell me extra services, but they weren't too pushy. No one including the owner wanted to take responsibility and played dumb. Anyhow I am happy to have found this place close to home. I went in after work on a Thursday and they took me immediately. Probably the fastest oil change I've ever had! The went over other recommended service items, some of which I knew had been taken care of earlier this year. I had them flush the ..... something. I forget. I should probably know this stuff, being a guy. Anyhow, they accepted my first-time $10 off check-in via Yelp with no problem and were very friendly. Uncaring management and a poorly managed work force. I visited this location somewhat recently and was extremely disappointed by the poor service that I received. After thoroughly researching options in the area, I went to this location because it was highly rated and had a "deal." When I arrived, I was greeted and I told them what oil I needed and my filter requirements. As I sat in the shop waiting for my car, I heard one of the employees say "Dude, you broke it" (or something very similar). As I had no context, I disregarded it. 15 minutes later an employee came to me and explained they were out of my oil filters and could not do the job. While I was annoyed that this was the case (especially considering that they could have told me this up front), I accepted it and went to another location. At this point, the story gets interesting. The next location told me that the oil pan screw that one must unscrew to release the old oil was bent and broken. NOW the comment made since. That "dude" had broken the screw on my oil pan. For liability reasons, the oil changing place I was at (Valvoline Instant - also in the area and they do a great job), could not change it. I went back to Kwik Kar and spoke to the manager. He talked to his employee, came back and stated that his employee had broken it. As I was in a position where I needed his help to remove the screw, I did not push him to apologize. I did ask him to fix the problem which he did somewhat begrudgingly (and slow I may add). He had his mechanics correct the issue and I was ready to leave. He did not apologize one time nor admit failure on his employees part. He was stone faced and somewhat rude, but in the end did the right thing. This type of experience is why so many people are fearful of getting their car taken in to a shop - no ownership of mistakes and shady business practices. I have been coming here for over seven years to get my state inspections done. Each time, they have always done a spectacular job. I just went today and they have a new inspection guy who knows his cars back and forth and very easy to talk to and up front. If you're in need of a state inspection, this is a great place to go to. They also do oil changes and repairs. Never go on weekends or early in the morning. They are constantly packed. With the new fitness center and insurance place opened up to the building next to them, I am sure this will give them a bit of gain in business. read more

Mine was $49 total and I used the $10 off with your first check in with yelp which was really cool! They have really nice couches for you to sit on and I guess some people could get mad about the additional products they try to sell you, but tis the way of mechanics! I had to dock one star for one reason only- the owner had no clue as to what Yelp check in offer they had going. He didn't know what Yelp was and what checking in meant. Kinda felt bad for him in a way bc I didn't want him to feel like I was there to smooch off his services or anything. So I explained it and showed him it was legit and he honored it for me. But the confusion should really be sorted out. Anyways, so I had a great experience here. I only needed an oil change done but they did a full inspection as well and did find some problems like my fairly new battery from O'Reily's was at marginal performance- not a happy camper about that. Owner was so nice and not only did he only honor the check in offer but also gave me mail in rebates for some of the stuff I had to have done so I saved about $50 total. Most places probably dupe girls on what they can and these guys were completely different, more of on the lookout for me which was very much appreciated. I never heard of this before. This is not my first oil change. No one tells you about extra fees. You simply get a surprise at the end. BEST car maintenance (or automotive shop for that matter) that I've EVER experienced. No one else even comes close! There is an employee named Connelly, he seems to be a manager who usually answers the phone, and he is INCREDIBLE. I can't even praise him enough. I came to them because I felt my steering was off; long story short, he found an issue with my tire and put air in it for free so i could get safely to so a specialist somewhere. In addition to that, the front of my car had bottomed out. Fixed on the spot for FREE. Their take was: it'll only take a second, why not fix it real quick? They also diagnosed an issue with my engine, which at the time was smoking here and there after I turned off my car. Again, all out of goodwill and concern for safety. I think this has the best group of people at any Kwik Kar I've been too! I had my car towed in because of a flat tire, they discovered my control arm was damaged. It was close to closing time, but they made it happen, knowing I had come a distance to be in Irving. They were congenial, polite, and very thorough, they explained each process thoroughly showed me what was damaged, and why it was essential to have it fixed, they even stay post close of business to get it done immediately. Thomas, Ray and the team did great. The manager ordered a replacement piece, and had everything done by 7 pm. They put in their genuine time to fix the vehicle versus, keep it on hand and maybe make a buck or two more. I appreciate their patience and support An honest and a humble team, they understand their customer needs and do their best to provide the best service.
