When the staff came to pick up the stove, they called 25 - 30 minutes before they arrived, and once they were here, it took a matter of minutes to take away the old stove. I used NOVA Junk in August 2016. I had initially called College Hunks Hauling Junk, but when they arrived, their estimate was more than twice what they quoted over the phone, so I turned them away. At NOVA Junk, I talked to both Omar and Norman. I felt both gentlemen were very honest in their estimate and forthright in what I could expect. And they honor Yelp, Military Discount and Angie's List. NOVA Junk was reasonable in their estimate so I scheduled a date. And I was so very glad I used NOVA Junk. I was extremely pleased with their service. I have split-foyer, 4-bedroom house, plus an upper deck, a storage room and an outside shed that I had to clean out. And I had 30-years of things to donate and get rid of. Upon arrival NOVA Junk was organized, they got started right away, walked through the house with me and asked for clarification where needed (what was junk what was going to charity) One area I was afraid they would balk at was the outside shed which was full of very yucky crickets and spiders. College Hunks guys didn't even want to look in the shed (I don't blame them because I was afraid to go in there). NOVA Junk did not hesitate to go in the shed. Not only did they get it completely empty, they cleaned the spiders and crickets out of my shed. And they blew off the leaves from my deck and swept up where leaves and other debris had tracked inside the house. I was so very very very impressed with NOVA Junk. The whole crew worked hard, quickly, and in less than a couple of hours they had completely filled two trucks worth of things to donate and junk. I was threatened by Norman E (owner) of a cancellation fee, despite not having any documentation, no cancellation policy and no signed agreement between a customer & Nova Junk. The driver nearly scratched the front end of my car upon backing up. He missed, but I saw it was an inch or two. He must be more carefully who navigating near other cars. The 2 men removed the couch w/ ease & no scuff marks on the walls. That was gr8. Norman E quoted me at $125. However, he told the driver to charge me between $135 to $145. Really? This begs the question of Norman's business practices of not adhering to the quote he gives to customers online. The driver gave me a fair price. That was appreciated. read more

NOVA junk just left with a truck packed as full as possible of18 years accumulated goodies. As I retire and downsize from my home, I wanted to let go of hundreds of books, TVs, couches, multiple bags of clothes including about 20 suits I hope to never need again, and of course 1,000,000 wire coat hangers. I called, and spoke with someone at their office who gave me an idea on price, but said they basically come see the job and provide a no obligation free estimate. When I had to reschedule my appointment they were very accommodating. NOVA junk called to let me know they were on the way, and arrived at the end of the time window. I showed them the stuff and was told it was at least a full truck load, at $595. I agreed and they started immediately. I had stuff in my garage, basement, main level and top floor. After getting the main and lower level stuff in the truck, it was 3/4 full and I was concerned they would need to make another trip, but they worked hard at packing things in as tightly as possible. It would be an easy way for a company to pad their bill, but these guys did all they could to pack things in, and got everything in the truck. The workers were polite, friendly and never stopped moving. My hundreds of pounds of stuff was gone in a little over an hour. My only nit was they refused to take a box with anti-freeze, and a unopened can of motor oil. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again. read more

I filtered the reviews and took the 2 closest companies with 5 stars, and asked for quotes using the Yelp app. I was pumped up the jam when the other company's quote was more than half less. And then they told me it was a typo and it was way more expensive! Byeeee. Decision made easy. NOVA Junk Removal's quote was totally reasonable for: providing a huge truck, coming to the house, being timely and nice, providing labor and muscles, doing the heavy lifting, and sending things off to get-out-of-my-sight-ville. I did all the quote collecting and time coordinating through Yelp messaging and iMessage. My outgoing message on my cell's voicemail says, "Hi, this is Cathy. Text me! BEEP." So messaging made my life easy peasy because I hate talking on the phone socially. My time frame for pick up, when they'd show up was 7-9am. On the day of, I got a call and voicemail that they'd be at my house in 20 minutes. See how I screened and didn't pick up the call?! I iMessaged the VM number, that we were home and ready. Two strong guys showed up and removed 4 couches from the first floor, and 1 seriously heavy elliptical from our second floor. I paid, I tipped, and dunzo. From there, they stayed outside and played Tetris-- organizing my furniture and furniture from a previous pick up. The entire process was just... so easy! I loved it. We're clearing out our house to do a major remodel in a couple months so I plan to use them again. read more

Can't say enough! This is second time I have used NOVA junk. Needed to remove some construction debris from a recent kitchen renovation. Very prompt and response - Omar and his team arrived at the exact time they told me and texted me 30 minutes before arrival. Very prompt and professional. Cleared all construction debris which included old cabinets, tiles, countertop, etc within 10 minutes and even sweep and cleaned up dust and other small debris. It was not much notice but they had an appointment tomorrow morning in the 7-10 window, with the goal of arriving on the early side, so I booked it. Then Norman responded to by quote request on Yelp (I had left a voicemail and submitted a request on Yelp) and said they had an opening for 10am-1pm today! We exchanged info and they arrived just hours after I reached out and took the furniture. Nova Junk was great! I submitted a request for quote on a Sunday, not expecting to get a response until Monday. However I had a response, quote, and scheduled pick-up on Sunday afternoon. They provided a time block on Monday to come pickup my old lumber. On Monday, they called about 30 minutes before their arrival, to let me know they were on their way.
