We've been here almost 5 months (from the east coast) and haven't had a great steak at a fair…read moreprice..until now. We'd talked to a couple people about where to go and it's always the overrated, overpriced, overhyped places in Bend where you pay no less than 90 bucks for a decent ribeye. This place has limited hours 1600-2000 on Saturdays and Sundays so we figured we'd get here on the front end of that schedule( today, Saturday). We were seated in a nice booth in the back that was a bit quieter than the FOH. Got water and setups right away. Within 5 minutes, Jensen (sp?) came for our drink and meal order. We got a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned (the Tumalo offering) and they were decent. My DH had the 10 oz filet medium, and I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu (not my norm but couldn't get the same meal as we are evaluating offerings in the area). Both were awesome. I got the cream spinach and BP as a side; the DH mashed and gravy and garlic bread. The service was great; the price point was very fair (we've been to around 35 restys trying to find our faves) and I would heartily recommend this one over any dinner type restaurant we've been to thus far. We will be back! Thanks Jensen and Company!

Beer selection is surprisingly weak, given proximity to Bend's many fine craft breweries. But my biggest issue is beware the hidden fees. We paid unexpected up charges for adding asparagus to a steak dinner and for gravy to go with mashed potatoes. If we are paying $50+ for the dinner itself, seems kind of "nickel-and-dime" to charge extra $1.50 and $.75 respectively for these. This left a sour taste in our birthday special occasion.

3.5* I've gotten…read morepizza to go three times and surprisingly each time was different. 1st time: thin ny like pizza covered in toppings. Only issue was the pie besides crust was soggy. Perhaps they put it in the box quickly so the heat caused the sogginess. (I came in when it was informed it would be complete. Waited another 15+ min. I get it- got busy.) Sausage is crumbled, bell peppers diced. Loved how there was enough cheese and toppings per bite. I also enjoyed the pizza crust which has a slight crisp but soft. Nice flavor. 4* 2nd time: thicker dough where the pizza wasn't thin ny style, same well covered toppings on pie though which was nice. 3rd: shortest pick up time so prob not busy. Got one slice of cheese pizza- don't order this bc crust was inedible rock hard. Not sure if it was a combination of pizza sitting out all day and reheated too long.. but def not good choice. The small pizza 12" is pretty expensive for the size, but had a good amount of toppings (chicken bacon pie). The downer was my custom pie, which I was craving, so I ordered an 18" to have leftovers. Cheese was not to the crust, some areas had just sauce near the crust. Toppings (sausage, pepperoni) were light. Also, the 18" didn't seem like it was baked long enough. The crust was just soft like bread unlike the other times I've had pizza from here. Even the 12" that day seemed fine. All for $58. In summary, Ill come back but am on the hunt to try other pizzas in the area. Don't order by the slice. Def order 18".

When I opened the box after arriving home, the pizza barely resembled what most would recognize as a pizza. The crust/dough was raw and there was a weird absence of cheese -- just red with a cheese dusting, mostly sauce on raw dough. Even if it'd melted more, the cheese ratio was visibly, obviously, short and wrong. Even Dominos can make a pizza that "looks" like a good pizza. I have to imagine someone pulling it out of the oven and thinking, "good enough, let's add more cheese and a longer bake next time." Thirty plus dollars later, I'm cooking dinner for my family. Good pizza is probably hard to make, but what's not hard is stopping a poorly executed product from leaving the kitchen, all the more so when it's waiting in a warmer, having been cooked well before the specified pick-up time. McDonald's is never good, but they excel at never letting something below their low standards land on a tray. I would have been very grateful if they'd just said, "we're 15min behind because your pizza came out below our standards and we're trying to make it right." Instead what I got, "good enough," really wasn't.

Right away you could tell our waitress was in a mood, she did not smile, acted like we were a inconvenience. We all sat down and were chit chatting, looking at the menu. 25-30 mins go by, (it was not busy) our oh so "lovely" waitress shows up to take orders. She was rushing through us, missing a couple of us, didn't ask some of us what we wanted to drink, asked for more chips, napkins and salsa she brought napkins. Well orders were wrong, drinks taken back to be blended, she still hadn't taken a couple people's drink order and she like disappeared, didn't check on us. A family member accidentally dropped her glass on the floor, a staff member was told, 3 staff passing by it, not cleaning it up. The family member moved the table out of the way along with a couple Kids, Finally our waitress comes to clean it and says to family member, so you just dropped it? She says it slipped out of my hand, waitress says figures. Family member says, oh yeah, Im just gunna pay for a drink to drop it on the floor so you have to clean it up!! My sister went to the restroom, it was our birthday, we told the staff not to sing yet because she was in restroom, the gentleman brought a shot over and slammed it on the table (Yeager bomb) spilling it. They all started singing, my sis was not back yet. RUDE! She comes back and the guy says here, here's a shot. So we all sang to her. Service (what service really) was terrible, waitress was rude, didn't smile, rushed through taking orders, messed up orders, didn't check on us, automatically took 20% tip which did not deserve at all. The food wasn't bad. WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN, WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

Lived here for over 20 years; Worst experience at a bar I've ever had and surprisingly it came from…read morestaff members. It pains me to say this as I'm a business owner in this industry; I get the stresses that come with the tasks at running a business like this. BUT, they need to make some changes immediately. It was a "comedy" night and the host wasn't just bad at hosting, but obtuse, rude and disrespectful to me, my friend, the music entertainer and the patrons. A hostile and incompetent staff didn't provide any help or follow up. I can't get too into details atm for litigation reasons but like I've said, I've never had any problems in any bars with anyone before or have had such an egregious experience that left me bemused to the point where I felt the need to issue a 1 star experience. You have to really mess up to get a 1 star from me. To the owners: I'll be submitting a formal complaint and seeking financial retribution through the Office of the Oregon Attorney General, a secondary complaint will be filed with the BBB as I won't put up with this dubious behavior from your staff or from anywhere. This behavior is unacceptable, unethical and it ultimately places your patrons and staff at risk of bodily harm or injury. I'm going to get down to the bottom of this civilly, legally and swiftly. Oh and the food; I'm sure it's not bad but full disclosure I didn't have any tonight. BUT HERES MY TAKE: Beer prices were typical. Kids menu was decent but kinda small. The adult food was over priced but what else are you going to eat with no other food options near by. The menu is ok but you'll spend 10 Barrel money; min $17 for a sandwich. If you get a beer too make it $25. If you like tacos you'll spend $16 for x3 shrimp tacos!(Which Im sure are frozen shrimp). Those are typical prices like ten barrel, brother John's, etc. but that's a lot of money for not much of an experience or room to breathe and stretch your legs. I'd rather go to the Cross-Eyed cricket down the road and spend the same amount and have a lot better of a time without feeling claustrophobic, ripped off or threatened. For those first timers; IMO this wasn't built as a restaurant to accommodate an experience for guests. This is a tiny bar and tiny inside sitting area that was made to wrangle people in who are on a tour to make more money off of them. Not provide an experience worth your money. BIG DIFFERENCE. There's basically 8 parking spots I think. So plan on parking on the street. Or across the street. This was built to make beer and then the bar came as an after thought. You could go to Cheba hut on a Monday night or Tuesday night and have a blast with just $25. Again not bad food, just way over priced for the experience. Plenty of other bars/breweries that have an attentive staff who are friendly and have great food/beer options.

We came on a night where they had open mic comedy. It wasn't great standup but it was fun, a good community, and I did laugh a little. The food was pretty good. I had the fried chicken which was juicy and really crispy. The greens are really good, fatty, smoky, and tender. The mac and cheese, however, was a disappointment-the sauce was grainy and lacked cheese flavor.
