Food tastes good, ***BUT*** Hair has been found in my bowl before, I seen a review on google with a picture of a FLY found in the food don't believe me? Go check it out on google reviews. The owners don't even live here they live in Texas, they are also supposedly getting sued by a past manager so I have heard by previous employees, that really says something to me. it's just the employees running the place, without management I can see why the cleanliness of the dining area and restrooms is so poor and reviews so low. I hate to leave a bad review, but unfortunately my experience was not great. When our food came, every bowl was covered in a layer of sauce, so we had to wipe that down. There was sauce on the sides, on the very bottom, and all over the top of the lids. Some of the tables had not been wiped down properly, but the rest of the place was fairly clean. My bowl came with a terrible rice to meat ratio. It was almost filled completely with rice that was dry, chicken that was chewy and burnt, and undercooked vegetables. None of the food had any flavor, and there wasn't enough meat. They offer sides of meat, but it's $10 for 8oz. There was not enough sauce either, and extras are $1 for a tiny cup. For $11-19 bowls, it just seemed overpriced for what you actually get. There's also a way smaller bowl size for $10, which is definitely overpriced. I probably wouldn't eat here again, but it's nice to know there's a place that's open until 9pm for late dinners. read more

I've tried this place a few times to see if it was bad luck or if it's consistently poor execution. Each time has been the latter. The large bowls lack a significant amount of protein and the rice has hard clumps because they don't stir the rice once it's done cooking. I attribute it to laziness and poor training/oversight from corporate. I can't believe this place got such bad reviews. My husband and I tried this last fall as we were headed to Costco (before it moved). We were surprised how much we got in the small bowl. I had enough for 3 meals. The next time we came, we shared a large bowl and still had leftovers. This place is amazing and the portions are huge! Definitely recommend it. read more

Honestly this place is just your basic teriyaki chain but it's not bad. I had decent food here that was freshly grilled and tasted good. I like that they serve it with your choice of white rice/brown rice/noodles/veggies and I particularly like the spicy chicken, sort of a combination of teriyaki sauce and sriracha. Delicious! The amount of meat they give you for a two protein bowl is CRAZY. The picture shows the meat goes across the bowl with plenty of it and the meat I got went halfway across (barely!). I ordered teriyaki chicken and orange chicken and I was in shock. The orange chicken was tiny bottom of the barrel chicken. I'm talking about chicken smaller than a dime and barely had meat in the middle. I got like two or three orange chickens the size of a quarter. Best example of the portion size is when you're putting away leftovers and there's some scraps worth of orange chicken and you're scraping the bowl... that scrape is what I got. They scraped the bowl and gave me that and said ok now give us over $20 please!! Save your money and go to Panda Express. I called this in and did pickup. I have gone here twice and have yet to eat something of any relevant quality or for them to get my order right. The vegetables are minimally cooked, the chicken is served cold, and staff are not helpful nor friendly. They have a "$6.99 monday bowl deal" that somehow comes out to $11. Management told me that they don't understand how it is misleading and claims that the drink is essentially free, but the deal hinges on a $4 drink? Panda Express costs the same amount, I get more food, it tastes better (somehow), and there is no BS. It is no mystery that no one has recommended this place to me. read more

If you like Panda Express, you may like Teriyaki Madness. That's not necessarily a dig nor an endorsement as I happen to like Panda Express. - Fast Casual. Order at the counter and they'll bring your order out. - You'll find a large menu above the counter although it's at neck-straining height. I tend to grab one of the to-go menus to make my selection. - Menu is not super extensive but hits a lot of marks. I like that they have caloric content listed. - For the 'Build Your Bowl' choices, you have three size options. For some reason, if you go with Yakisoba Noodles (i.e., not a bowl), you get no such size options. I ordered the noodles and they came out in two medium-sized to-go containers, a bit more food than I wanted for lunch. - Fountain drinks are Pepsi brand, which is not the best choice. - Not expensive but not the cheapest fast food around. The Yakisoba noodles with a drink came to $11 and if you build a regular size bowl, you'll pay about the same. - I'd guess they serve a lot of to-go orders but there are a fair number of seats for dining in. The space as a whole is small and somewhat tight. - You'll find teriyaki sauce on every table and you get a small tub with a to-go order. Unfortunately, despite the restaurant's name, it's not very good - way too sweet. I prefer soy sauce, which is on the tables, as is Sriracha. - Lots of plastic. The planet is not happy about that. There are more eco-friendly containers available and while I understand they may cost more and the competition generally fails in this regard as well, when I visit a new restaurant, it's something I look for. Couple of things: why deliver a plastic lid for a dine-in order? Customers can ask for one if they need it, or they can be available at the self-serve station. Also, given that chopsticks are available at that station (as well as plastic forks), why deliver a fork with a dine-in meal? Food: - Yakisoba noodles with chicken. Solid lunch meal. The ingredients are high quality and the chicken is quite tasty. Noodles are not the best - a bit rubbery. As mentioned, the teriyaki sauce is too sweet but fortunately they don't pre-drown the dish with it. - Spicy chicken bowl with fried rice and veggies. The fried rice is $1 extra. Quite tasty chicken that's not slathered in teriyaki sauce. The chicken is well cooked but is not in the least spicy. Fried rice is decent and the veggies are nice. A regular size bowl is fairly large. Friendly service. All in all, A-OK. Much like Panda Express. read more

Disappointing. Unfortunately it's the only teriyaki place in Bend. Giant unwieldy chunks of chicken, under seasoned, that might as well have been cut with a hatchet. Meager sauce, only provided on the side, and not flavorful sauce at that. The NW in general has superb teriyaki chicken- well caramelized chicken beautiful on its bed of rice with teriyaki sauce ALREADY drizzled over it, more on the side to taste. Bend has much to recommend it, but the teriyaki is not one. If you're looking for teriyaki that you can get in any mom and pop kitchen in the NW, this central Oregon offering will not satisfy. read more

Then he filled the to go cups if sauce using his fingers to separate them. No gloves. One of us spoke to him and he put a glove on. Too late since the cups were already filled. In their haste to get the order out though, they forgot a couple of things: 1 receipt 2 napkins 3 utensils 4 the beef for by beef yaki soba (only got 3 slices) 5 how to place the lid on the sauces so it doesn't spill inside the bag. Our first time here. Very friendly clerk, quick service, good food. We would come here again! They have an option to replace the rice with vegetables. Friend & I stopped by after hitting Costco. Ordered 4 meals & sat down. They appeared to be less than busy inside & had to- go orders going out fairly regularly. We sat there for over 45 minutes waiting for our food. They never called out our name. Turns out they packed up our stuff in a bag, put it on the to- go cart & neglected to say anything to us. Finally we were asked if we were waiting for food & when we said yes, they checked the orders that were right there. Our food had been there for more than 25 minutes. A quiet apology. We were waiting for this place to open for a while. There are a whole lot of these bowl of rice/noodles/vegetables/protein type places in LA and it's a nice idea. When it finally did open for the first few weeks we meant to get by there and give it a try but didn't get there until today. I read all the reviews, some good some bad. Props to the Kevin for the inventive "Teriyaki Sadness" quip. Great work Kevin. Anyway we made it there for lunch today and were favorably impressed. Both of us thought the quantity/price ratio was good and the food was hot, fresh and very well seasoned. We had the Orange Chicken and Fried Rice and the Tofu and Yakisoba Noodles - both excellent. I've been here four times now. The first time was really good, so I went back. Each subsequent trip has been worse than the last. This last visit, my meal took about 15 minutes to come out and it was about $10 for noodles and an absolutely paltry serving of the orange "chicken." The chicken came in the form of little cubes that were mostly dough and breading. There was almost no chicken in my meal to speak of. My medium sized order of chicken didn't even fill a quarter of the bowl. If I hadn't been pressed for time, I would have asked for my money back and gone somewhere else. The noodles were good, though. So, they get a star for that. They weren't worth the extra dollar, though, and they made up the bulk of my $10 meal. Seriously, the profit margin on this place must be insane, because the amount they charge compared to the amount of food you get is the real madness. Service was mediocre at best. The guy behind the counter was nice but ignored my food on the hand off counter for at least five minutes while was filling cups of teriyaki sauce. I won't be going back. For teriyaki, go to the nearby and locally owned Aloha cafe. For the same amount of money, you'll actually get a decent amount of meat. For cheap Asian inspired fast food, Panda Express is a thousand times better and is less expensive to boot. Heck, even the Safeway Chinese food hot case is a better option than this. We've eaten here three times since they've opened. The first time we went, the food was extremely over cooked, and didn't get everything we ordered, which we attributed to the fact we went during the last hour they were opened. The second time was around lunch time, and we not only got everything we ordered, but it was cooked to perfection. It made for a very great second impression. Today, we waited 30+ minutes for our order, and again, did not get everything we ordered, the thing that we did get were incorrect, and again, everything was over cooked. 2/3 times have been a bad experience here so far. I'm leaving a three star rating, because if you want to eat here, you really should only go during lunch time, as that seems to be the only time they know how to do things right. read more

2nd Visit. A sweet friend gave us a free bowl coupon as she knew we had mad love with Teriyaki madness!!! Was even better then our first meal there.. Not possible? It was sure was! The cook and flavor on the Spicy Chicken and Teriyaki Meat was so delicious. The veggies were cooked and seasoned so well the brown rice light, fluffy and tasty. We are a fan, I would have paid for the free bowl as it was that good. For a mad hunger? go for the double protein bowl.. The meat dishes are so good you can have more then one to enjoy that way.. Also pickup one of the marshmallow desert bars.. wife makes sure I pickup one for her every trip. Service was great and efficent. Overall a super meal.. Mad props for Teriyaki Madness!! read more

Burned, burned, burned and dry. When I first arrived in Bend I tried Teriyaki Madness in Bend and it was hit and miss. Half the time the chicken was heavily charred. Eventually it seemed like management was replaced by corporate supplied staff. Much better food during that time. Now it looks like old staff is back and the chicken is terrible again. I don't want to taste mainly burnt chicken in my bowl. Used to visit almost daily and now haven't been there in about a month. Not going back until they fix this. read more
