Ordered Pizza to go for first time from Notch 8 and not only did it get here quickly but it was fantastic. Will be ordering every Friday night. During these times, our local restaurants need our support. From what i have seen, Mr Heslin takes great pride in his restaurants, his staff and his food. Spicy popcorn shrimp just enough kick to it add sweet spicy dip sauce for more intensity. Burgers and sandwiches hefty amount along with sides no skimping here on portions. This was our first time here and we loved it! The waitstaff was really friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was really cozy and it was nice and cold inside. We had the sesame garlic wings and they were crispy and delicious. My husband had the chicken wrap which was huge and scrumptious. Had fish tacos before and they were awesome again. Didn't know Notch 8 had like music. It was an unsuspected surprise!

Food wasn't to bad but the service was good extremely slow. My husband asked 4 times fo a beer and never saw it. Our waiter never came over to our table. He walked passed our table 3 times never acknowledging us. We won't be back. Our waiter finally showed up after we paid. read more

I LOVE Notch 8. Their pizza is the second best in town and only be beaten by the Bethel Pizza House next door. I love the railroad-theme to the restaurant and is right next to the tracks. Wide variety of food plus kids menus. Very convenient location, right in the center of town. Terrific restaurant. read more

First time here and everything was delicious! We had the coffee stout wings, they were cooked perfect just needed more sauce. We also had the mashed potato pie - so good! The garlic knots were by far my favorite so so good. Service was really slow and took a while to get our drinks but I'm sure it's just kinks in starting up that will be flushed out. So I'm going to take my Karen shades off and update my review considering the owner took the time to respond. I respect owners who truly take pride in their restaurant. Main fact, ALL food is better dining in over taking out. Due to this lovely pandemic and my first baby I have succumbed to take out to feed my foodie urges. The mussels may not have been frozen, the texture doesn't ALWAYS mean that is so. It could have been overdone or what have you, in which I'm sure is also not always the case. I should have given the restaurant the chance to fix the issue before reviewing but I don't expect anything for free etc. I am always open to trying a place out a second time especially since my experience wasn't all bad. I order seafood out often and I worked in an Italian restaurant in the Bronx for many years so I'm very understanding of the loss in quality with sitting in a to-go container but like I had said this could have just been a freak mishap. My husband didn't see "Cajun tartar" on the menu, we may have ordered on door dash or something and it wasn't listed OR he missed it, but I am aware of Cajun style food. Non the less the sauce was still not my fav. Everything else I had wasn't bad and my husband had a hot dog which he said was really good. I am a big pizza fan so next time I'll give those a shot. I appreciate the owners passion in his response to my review, I look forward to giving Notch8 another shot and exploring more of the menu. read more

Love this place ! Looks beautiful inside , they did a great job with the renovations . Enjoyed the pizza with fig jam and prosciutto, and the other with pepperoni & honey hot sauce . Went there with a friend and had one of the worst salads. Salads are easy to make - ask any home cook. I asked for the grilled chicken and got pre-cooked sliced chicken that was dry and almost brown on one side of most of the the slices. This tells me the chicken was pre-cooked either a day earlier or that day, then after slicing, they toss it back into the oven to heat it up. I ate one slice, dry and spongy. Grilled chicken is easy to make - ask any home cook. The avocado slices were from the pre-vacuum sealed avocado halves that you just have to peel away the plastic and just slice them. The whole thing was quite unfortunate to say the least. Our server was fantastic though so they have that going for them. Could have been the B team in the kitchen? Tony from Note Kitchen down the street has done it again with another stellar dining option, Notch8. We were fortunate enough to dine in once before the COVID-19 crisis, but we've enjoyed take-out twice since. First of all, the pizzas are great! I know everyone thinks Bethel is oversaturated with (what's usually lackluster) pizza. I'm here to tell you Notch8 has something compelling to add to the conversation. The wood fired pies are perfectly done, and the available toppings are super fresh. I made a delicious white pizza with pesto, caramelized onions and tomatoes. I do wish the tomatoes were smaller tomatoes, but that didn't affect the taste one bit. I was able to enjoy my pizza for 3 total meals!! We also got the hot honey and pepperoni pizza, which has quickly become a local icon. Putting the pizza directly on the oven rack at 400 degrees for approx 5-7 minutes was just as good as day 1. We also got the pulled BBQ sandwich platter special last Saturday. Wish this was a permanent addition to the menu! And, so much food! Can't wait for this to be over with so we can enjoy that great patio. Awesome job, guys, you have yet another hit on your hands! Proud to have you down the street! read more
