Nosh Cafe is a amazing little spot ! The butter chicken is delicious and they have some very friendly staff.

As luck would have it my first time there was during their Thursday/Friday lunch buffet. I don't live around these parts so I hadn't even heard of it. It was good quality & delicious. This place is soooo good. The owner is super friendly and wants to cater to anyone who comes in. He readily offers up vegan dosa and will alter the spice level if you're a big wimp like I am. My wife and I have been vegan for over two ears now. After discovering nosh only a year ago it quickly became our favourite restaurant. Not only is their food absolutely outstanding, their costumer service is unmatched. We asked them to cater our wedding, they went above and beyond what we had in mind. I read some review before going and it is true what's on there. A below average service that's for sure. A table of 8 he never refilled the water and we were there for almost 2 hours. I was the only meat eater at the table and I had the lamb which was very good. Nosh has Indian dishes and Indian good is delish. So the food was good but wasn't my favourite, lack of spices. This restaurant is one of my favourites in Edmonton. It's Indian cuisine and as far as I've been told fairly authentic. The owner and staff are so friendly and enjoyable to talk to. The space is clean and nicely renovated. The food is delicious. I've had almost all the dishes, my favorites being the dosas, the chicken tikka masala, the chana masala, and the lamb briyani.Tonight I tried the spaghetti, it was an Indian version and was very tasty. It had in house made meat balls and a spiced up sauce. There are many vegetarian options for those who are as well. As for drinks they make a mean chai and have other Chai options like a dirty Chai, or a cashmiri Chai, iced or hot. it is very reasonably priced and you can get take out as well. read more

Absolutely amazing! Went there yesterday and my partner and I both got soup- coconut chicken and lenil, which were both full off flavour and so filling! The service was also amazing and absolutely worth coming back for- not to mention the rest of the menu! The gentleman have some free naan bread and a few chai lattes as we were leaving! Just ordered delivery tonight, the food came quickly and it was all so good! Between me and my partner, we ordered prawn butter masala, palak paneer and some naan. Both dishes were fantastic, and it was more than enough for us. I will definitely eat their food again! Love the atmosphere and vision of Nosh, but I'm so disappointed with the food. I live nearby and have had takeout several times (although haven't eaten in) and sadly found the food quality to be poor- bland and heavy on one or two key spices rather than a balanced and developed dish. I have had, so sad to say, better "fast food" Indian equivalents to Nosh's dishes. I would LOVE to be able to support Nosh and order more often, but the restaurant needs to increase the quality of it's food. read more

The staff is forever caring and cordial of all my needs ....... the needy customer I am lol but they knock it out of park every time. To my surprise among the "best reviews" of the restaurant I found a couple written by the owner/manager. On top of everything else I was contacted by owner/manager asking for me to delete review. I think if you are selling something a customer has the right to let other people of the service that they received good or bad. So here is a copy of the reply that I got after I declined an invitation to try a lamb dish from the restaurant. How sad is that???: Hi Jamie, Jiya V. sent you a message on Yelp: Subject: RE: reviews about nosh cafe "Thanks !! i would say whatever u wrote it not true about tip and so .. i agreed u don't like ours foods u shouldn't write like that ... if u own business and some one write like that ... than what u feel.... anyway .. if u can please removed the review... thanks u so much." ***********Part 1/************** I was there about a week or so ago. I received their menu a couple of days later, just to think on the menu my mouth just water! Unfortunately, what I was expecting and what I got not too happy. To start with, it was a menu written on the wall, I was craving some Lamb. It was not on the menu al lunch time. So I decided to get a butter chicken wrap and some samosas. You just need to walk to the bar and order, they will bring you the food to the table. To me a tip it should be add it to bill after you received food and service was given to you. So you have to pay in advance and to my surprise they force you to give them a tip in advance. I was not too happy, I do think it should be up to the customer to leave a tip after the fact meal is done. Butter chicken wrap, they give you a sauce to add it to the wrap. I have never been given a sauce to be added to the butter chicken. On the other hand, it helped to give some flavour to the dish. Then on the samosas they gave you the same sauce for it. I think they should advise customers that samosas are spicy. The only think I can taste was spices in it. I was not able to finish both, so I took one home. No idea why, after I left the restaurant I start thinking why did I asked for a container to take it home. I was hoping to see a homeless person or to be able to offer it to someone. At the end, I had to leave it by a garbage container. I do not recommend the food there. My friend asked for a Tofu Panini. I thought it was more or less an East Indian restaurant, but on the menu at the restaurant I read that they sale chicken wings! And Oriental mixed with Italian????? Really????? Not to impress, not going back there. read more

This is our favourite Indian restaurant (and one of our favourite restaurants overall in Edmonton). The flavours are unbeatable and turnaround is quick. Whenever I go anywhere else I can't help but be a little disappointed that I wasn't at Nosh. Their Dosas are delicious with the two chutneys they come with and my other favourites include the vegan tofu mattar. We've had friends try it and they had no idea it was even tofu. I'm vegan and have eaten here twice - one delivery via skip the dishes and for pick up once. The food way exceeded my expectations and I was really happy with my meals! I've also shared with a meat-eater and they loved to food too!! The vegetable pakora with sweet dipping sauce is mouthwatering, and as a paneer lover - I have to say the mattar tofu was amazing!! I come here often alone sometimes with my family, it is so dang delicious everytime. All the food is made fresh on the spot (you can see the kitchen through the window. So far I've tried many dishes, of course the butter chicken is ridiculously delicious but I am in love with their dosa's. I just had the lamb vindaloo and oh my gosh it was so tasty. Satisfying flavors and everything is so uniquely tasty. I highly recommend the food here. Staff is so friendly everytime. I also have tried a few of their Chai options along with their mango Lassi. The chai is so perfect and is also homemade. Ginger Chai is the current favorite. The mango Lassi is so refreshing and definitely a perfect summer drink. Will continue to come here often. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for some time and finally had the chance to do so. I really like they have numerous vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. The atmosphere inside is a little bland, pretty basic and boring really, but clean and there are plenty of tables. It's not really clear when you arrive if you're supposed to order at the counter, or wait at a table to someone take your order. It appeared that other customers were doing both. Also there is a written menu on the wall at the counter, and also a paper table menu that appeared to have different items, so that was a little odd. The service was a little spotty, there was only gentleman working that I could see. He was nice enough but barely said anything when he took our order and after when we paid. I also ordered a green tea that was forgotten about, and when I asked about it, he just went to get it without saying anything. However the food was really good and made up for all of the other awkwardness. I had a dosa which I've never tried before, but it was really tasty. Super happy they have so many vegetarian options, so I will for sure be coming back. read more
