They currently have a promotion for a free chai with wrap purchase. The gal behind the counter (Nancy) shared with me that this location opened about 2.5 months ago while the 124th street location has been going strong +2 years now. She was patient and very informative with the menu for recommendations today as well as in the future. I used the washroom while waiting for my to go order and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and spaciousness (as well as handicap accessibility which is a big plus my family). I settled on a palek paneer wrap (spinach cheese) and a tandoori chicken wrap (with delicious potatoes in it!). I sipped on housemade chai while the wraps were prepared. Nancy shared with me that the chai is ground/made in house. I also snuck a peek at their dessert counter which had me drooling and most definitely planning a return visit with the kids! The space itself is small but they have plenty of seating and can serve larger groups if needed. Most of us ordered the lunch combo which is normally a single rotating curry option but they made an exception and let us order whatever item we wanted from the main course. It was a great opportunity to sample whichever item we wanted. It took awhile for the food to arrive but I think that was more about us being a big group than a service issue. The smaller tables were in and out much faster so you shouldn't have a problem getting back to work after lunch if there's only 2-3 of you. I had the shahi malai kofta which is served with a side of rice in the combo. It was rich, creamy and delicious. Exactly what I was craving. All of my coworkers were also really happy with their meals. I am very happy to have this great option available for lunch downtown and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
