not only is the Puerto Rican food here amazing, Nellie (the server we were so lucky to have) is AWESOME, patient and such a warm and inviting person - she is on it and made the experience so fun. Good music, great drinks and phenomenal food there with a casual vibe. read more

We went to Norwind's on a Thursday night. Food was delicious and the portions are huge! The Henny sangria was great, it wasn't your average frozen drink it had great flavor. They also play a lot of great music. Overall I had a great experience! Will definitely be coming back! read more

I discovered this place after someone posted it on social media , i had no idea about it prior and i live really close to it . The waitress was extremely unfriendly on the day my boyfriend and i went , to the point where she was rushing us to order .. i liked the pork mofongo although the sauce was a bit overly salty for my liking and i highly recommend the henny sangria , that was the highlight of my experience here read more

I've been to Norwind's 3 times already and I'm not impressed by the food. The staff is extremely friendly and very welcoming which i love and the environment is also friendly. It's a bit small but it's cozy and friendly. What keeps me going back to this place is the drinks that they have .... which are on POINT! Definitely recommend people to go for drinks here. read more

The service was horrible ... the server shakira was rude . The food was good but with that the lack of service 1st and last time I will be coming back to this location very sad because the food is good . One of our orders was taken by another waiter and there was no more chicken we were not accounted for and when I brought the issue to the waiter she completely dismiss me . At the end no accommodation were received and we were highly disappointed. read more

Came here on a Friday right after work, it wasn't overly packed but there were plenty of people, both inside and outside. The outside part was nice, but decided to sit inside instead. Ordered the frozen Sangria with Hennessey, then some appetizers & an entree. My first issue we ordered the alcapurias which looked and tasted fine in the first few bites but when I really looked the inside wasn't fully cooked, we mentioned it to the waitress and she happily took them back, and brought us another order which seemed more cooked but again the Masa (dough) on the inside was still raw, so we just didn't eat it. We also had the shrimp pastellilos those were good, for entrée we had the mofongo with carne frita that was pretty good. 2nd issue, theres just 1 bathroom and the bathroom is both for men and women I'm not a fan of that, men aren't to great at aiming when there sober, can you imagine when they're drinking? Aside from those issues I will definately return now that the weather is getting better, and I'll try sitting outside, the music was very good, hip hop Spanish a great mix, also need to give the food another try, they did have a variety of fried finger foods. The place is cute is, and deserves a 2nd visit for sure. read more

Norwind's - Frozen Sangria/Hennessy. - Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

See all

It's sad this use to be one of my fave spots in Brooklyn to grab a drink and hear some music. Recently I've attempted to go a few times on a weekend and was turned away by the same waitress! Unfortunately it's always the same story "45 minute wait to an hour" was her excuse the last time before that she just said no tables! Too bad I won't go back again, I'll take my business elsewhere!! read more

Good place , very very tight bar area . Music is awesome . Food was pretty good . Loved my time here would come back again for sure

Ordered chicken strips and fries and philly cheese steak egg rolls. My chicken was gummy and chewy. It was very off putting. The egg rolls weren't really egg rolls in won ton , it was more like a breading and arrived broken in two logs and oozing our with filling. Food not reccomended read more

The food was on time. Even with how cold it was outside the food was very warm when I arrived home. The food was very delicious. I had the alcapurrias, steak tostone sandwich, madurros with cheese and beef. Also the raspberry chicken wings. Favorite was the raspberry chicken wings and the alcapurrias. read more

I have to try the food, but based on everyone else eating every time I come past for happy hour, it must be good. Very friendly staff with an exceptional outdoor space. On some evenings, there is a DJ present playing some very funky contemporary grooves that has everyone shaking in their seats while they are eating a drinking. This is not your normal hipster place and that's what make this place even better. Down to earth, and just come in for a great time. read more

I am here at this very moment waiting 40 minutes for a mofongo and some fries. This is a small place with amateur waitresses who refused to write anything down for a party of 20. This is more of an appetizer menu, the prices are good, DJ was jamming. A party of no more then 12 would be accommodating. The place is small and easily overwhelmed. Will I be back? Probably not. There is a great hole in the wall, a taco place down the street! read more

Been here several times. The food is authentic Puerto Rican food the place is small but it's worth it if you have to wait. I had the Cubano sandwich probably one of the best and they Henney sangria is unreal after 2 of those you are feeling really good read more

I went for a late lunch. I enjoyed my food very much. It took a while to get the food but since they had great salsa music on it was ok with me. I wanted to try the flancocho but I was too full with my meal and appetizer. I would go back again to try something else. The only complaint is that my back hurt after a while because the chairs have no back. read more

The food here is amazing. The drinks are pretty strong, if you like that order the henny sangria. The service was great. Elba, our waitress, was attentative. Would recommend this for a chill night out. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the Crowd is older (35+) and there was a lot of cigarette smoking. Which sucks while eating. read more

The food is good. The portions are good as well and reasonable prices. The frozen henny sangria is good, but too expensive $13 for the size and the drinks are not always frozen as stated. They started having $5 frozen regular sangria, which are OK and a good deal, but they are not always frozen as stated. The music is not that popping when I have visited. I started calling it Borrrrwinds due to the lack of Salsa and free style music. What PR did not grow up listening to this type of music. Also the waitress looks tired. Try to leave your personal life home and don't bring it to work. I feel your lack of energy. Next, I had went to Borrrrrwinds on the Puerto Rican festival day (June 8th), and they were playing in the back ground under ground hip hop. Whats up with not playing salsa or free style on the day of the festival? You do serve Puerto Rican Comida......... read more

The best chef , the best Latin food in Brooklyn, best music, best crowd , best drinks. This will be my spot to have a good time.

This is a great place to eat authentic Puerto Rican classics like monfongo and carne frita. The waitresses are Frendily and effiecent. The drinks are generous and on point. You cannot beat the prices either. Definitely coming back to try the Bacalaitos and the dulce de leche mousse. Higly recommeded. read more

Although I've been on Yelp for a few years this is my first review. My husband and I frequent many places. We like good food, good drinks and a good atmosphere. This place gets 5 stars for all three. Clean bathroom is a must n here you will find that as well. Alcapurias the way your grandma made them tostones that melt in your mouth But what's really impressive to me is the little bartender that goes by the name of Kiki. She runs that bar flawless. Like I've never seen one person run a busy bar a quick an efficient as she does. N trust me when I tell you I've had my share of good bartenders. So if you're looking for a place to just have good food this is it. Good drinks this is it. Great atmosphere and service you found it. read more

Great spot. Friendly chill vibe. Super nice staff. Great prices. Tv's. Great menu. Good drink prices. I'll be back

I walked by this place on my way home and read the great reviews so I decided to check it out on Sunday with my bf. The interior was really colorful and it seemed like they had a nice backyard. We needed to be somewhere by 4:30 pm and got there at 2:30. We were initially greeted with menus by someone who was working behind the bar who quickly took our drink and food orders. With empty glasses now, 45 minutes had gone by and we still didn't get our food. No one checked up on us, so we asked a server walking by, and they told us that they were backed up. By this time, we asked for the food to go, which took another 10 minutes. The cocktail, Eastburg (vodka, pineapple and pomegranate juice), I had was good but definitely not worth $12. We left hungry, frustrated, and disappointed and with a $60 bill, I thought the least they could have done was come over with an apology and comp our drinks. I'm sure the food is good, because everything we saw passing us by looked delicious, but probably won't be giving this place a second chance. Poor service is too hard to overlook in my book. read more

Cool Vibes, Great Music and the appetizers were soo good! Ahh and cheap drink prices..lol..I'll be back soon

My friend and I were starving and decided to stop in for lunch. We probably sat down around 4:40 on a Sunday, we got served our starters at 5:20. When we brought up our concern with our server her response was, "that's just how it is." No apology, no empathy. When we asked for the manager she had the nerve to ask us why. We had to flag the manager down ourselves because she never notified him. He came over, we explained the situation he was the first person to apologize then he said he would go get the food, wrap it to go and take it off the check. Nelly the server came back over after the manager left our table with our receipt and tried to cancel half of our order to which we responded no the manager said we would still get our food wrapped to go but removed off the check. The server tried to argue her point with us. Then the manager came out with our food and rectified the issue. Terrible service, subpar food. Do not recommend this place. read more
