Service was slow but some what attentive if that makes sense. We were sat at a table that had just been cleared but not wiped down. Drinks were great and so was the music. It's a local neighborhood spot and the vibe was cool. Food was good, my one and only issue with the food would be that they drowned the mofongo in their sauce. Not matter how delicious the sauce is, it truly should've been a tad less or on the side. The sauce made the mofongo a tad mushy and it's already a semi soft fried version of a fried tostone. Overall everyone enjoyed their food and drinks, we were a crowd of 6.

This is such a gem in the neighborhood! They have amazingggg Latin/Puerto Rican food, really decent drinks, and great music. The bartender and servers are also really friendly and super sweet. The Chicken Empanadas, Mofongo, and fried chicken were all really good. We saw a lot of people getting the platter of appetizers (which was huge!) and that also looked great. This is a perfect place to stop by for one drink, or to sit down with friends and enjoy a meal and great music.

Look at that egg roll. Just WOW! So flipping delicious.

It seriously takes a lot of me to be "Wow'd" by my cultural food but Norwind's definitely left me very impressed. I ordered takeout through Grubhub and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the beef empanadas, Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and pulled pork sliders with French fries. The portions are very big and definitely fair to share with other people. I'd imagine I was going to get a small Philly cheesesteak egg roll but those things were big (2 stuffed pieces for $8) and a side cup of melted cheese, Yum. The empanadas were great but the beef did not have seasoning at all so I was least impressed with the beef empanadas. The sauce that comes with it (Mayo,ketchup type of delicious sauce) complimented the lack of flavor in beef empanadas though, so don't fret, it can be fixed. The pulled pork sliders were a huge hit! It was more like small sandwiches if you ask me. Those sliders were packed up with juicy pulled pork, white mozzarella cheese I believe and some sort of delicious pico de Gallo on top and of course some lettuce/tomato. I was really amazed by how delicious it was. I shared my Grub hub meal with 3 different people and I was left completely stuffed and satisfied as were they. It's like part of me just couldn't stop eating even though I was really full. I left a little in my to go container and had to throw it out with so much sadness because who really saves 1 bite of a pulled pork sandwich with maybe about 6 fries for the next day? Ha! I highly recommend Norwind's. In fact I'll be stopping by in person this weekend with friends so that I can brag about how I found a great restaurant with delicious food.

Restaurant staff are rude and cannot read instructions. I placed an order via Uber eats and specifically asked them not to add sauce to my mofongo. Sure enough my order arrives and my mofongo and meat is drenched in garlic sauce. I called the restaurant immediately after and explained to the lady over the phone that I specially asked them to pour the sauce on the side. I explained to her that my kids will not eat it if it's soaked in sauce. I basically was out on $15 because they don't know how to follow instructions. I told her I wrote it in the comments of my Uber notes. Her response was to me was "WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU, HONEY". Basically it is what it is. Not once did she apologize nor ask to send me a replacement or refund. Complete waste of money. I will never order from here again. See pics.

Hey are there any Puerto Ricans left in NYC?! If there are any left, this is the place for you. This place is like a shortcut to Puerto Rico. It has a great atmosphere and its a must see. The service is great and so is the food. I highly recommend this place for a night out with friends to enjoy some Puerto Rican food and drinks. They have an outdoor area which is perfect in the summer time. Come here and dance salsa or reggaeton with your friends. You wont regret it. This place is special to me because its the place my man asked me to be his lady. Love you Norwinds!

This is authentic Puerto Rican food!!! Growing up in a Puerto Rican home I was always really picky about the Spanish food I ate. I was blessed to have really good cooks in my grandmother and aunt. They made incredible monfongos, alcapurrias, and bacalaitos(forgive the spelling:( ). It was hard to find a substitute locally. Norwind's took me back to my childhood and that good food. Everything was good and drinks strong. The place has a hard feel to it but that's authentic Bushwick, it was a hood for along time before becoming tame and hip. But the place is top notch, the inside decor is refined industrial and rustic and was pulled off well and genuine. Come here for good food and drink and take in the vibes, it's different like anything else in Bushwick and Native to Bushwick. Two thumbs up!!! read more

Look. If you want to bring a romantic date somewhere nice to eat, this is not the place. However, if you don't mind loud music while you eat and have some beers/dranks and enjoy the quality food then here be the place for you! The dishes packed some real good flavor. I had the Jibarito which is steak in between 2 plantains and my wife had the mofongo shrimp. She wasn't that impressed as she compared it to one we had on the side of the road in PR (which really is the real deal!) but I thought it was good. Definitely come back here during warmer weather (if not sooner!) as the outside space looked good read more

Just waited over 30 minutes for two appetizers and got some serious attitude from the waitress. After about 20 minutes of waiting, i asked her to check on the order and she said, "i know, it'll be ready when it's ready" rolled her eyes and walked away. When the food finally came there was no silverware, no napkins, and no condiments. The food is mediocre at best, the service is atrocious, and the music was too loud. I would not return here. read more

I heard good reviews about the food, however I found it underwhelming. We wanted to order more food, but the server said we would be full from what we ordered but in reality, they were under staffed and not equipped to handle all of the orders. We waited a long time for the beers, and food. We wound up ordering our own drinks at the bar, which came faster than the ones we ordered. Also, I made a comment to my family about the poor service, and the server overheard. Instead of leaving it as is, she confronted me and made me feel uncomfortable and said, "I heard what you said, I told you were understaffed!" I will definitely not be returning to this establishment based on the service alone. The food wasn't anything to brag about either. I've had better alcapurias at the cuchofrito spot in Graham (Brooklyn). read more

NThe Puerto Rican food here is delicious!!!! My husband and I have been craving a Puerto Rican spot that serves delicious well cooked food and we got so lucky when we checked out Norwind's..Everything we ate was so yummy, the right Rican flavors, food was served hot and so pretty everything was perfect portions. Our server was super sweet and very helpful! Service was excellent! We will come back again and again and tell our family and friends About this spot, they work hard to make food right and drinks were amazing strong and tasty and the bartender just knows how to make really excellent drinks!!!!! Honestly this restaurant beats any high-priced Puerto Rican spot in the city and any Hole in the spot. Worth going here- eating/drinking100-%. read more

Came in for lunch on a Wednesday with my boyfriend for lunch and the food was amazing ! Garlic Parmesan wings are to die for the sauce is what makes them so juicy and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered tostones and fried steak, he sure did have the itis before work lol. I had the pork mofongo and omg. Some reviews said it was salty but for me it waS jus right. We didn't get the henny sangria but I will be back for it and those wings. read more

The only other place (besides the Red Market) that I would get Alcapurrias from! The food is great and the music and vibe is great. It does get very busy at times so you must be patient .. but the workers do their best to accommodate and serve everyone. Good place for Latin food and music. read more

I went here one Sunday afternoon for brunch and the entire experience was amazing. They're staff is friendly and they keep the mimosas flowing. Their Brunch Special is great, they give you plenty of food (4 course) and non stop mimosas. The Henny Sangria is pretty amazing! This is a neighborhood bar that serves excellent authentic Puerto Rican food. The music is great you can hear all kinds of different music at this bar that keeps it interesting. The crowd is mixed which I like. The drinks are great. They have IPA beer on tap. What makes this place even better they have shots and beers at a great price so it won't break the bank. I tried going to Norwind's on two previous occasions and it was extremely crowded, no one else fit inside the establishment but this was during the winter months. I was finally able to go two weeks ago and it was delicious. The backyard was opened which was great. I give the food 5 stars! The music was also great. The only reason I rate my overall experience 4 stars is because they seem understaffed. Service was a bit slow although they were attentive. They only have one bathroom inside which equals to long lines unless you want to use the porta potties outside. I highly recommend if your in the neighborhood. Authentic Puertorican Food! Try the steak egg rolls and Henny Sangria! I will be going back soon read more

While waiting to be seated, I ask not to be seated by the door. The older waitress said that was the only table available. We decided to leave and walked down the block to find another restaurant. 10 minutes later walking passed Norwinds the place was 1/2 empty. Three (3) tables to be exact. I was visiting brooklyn, NY. from Chicago this weekend and someone recommended this restaurant for frituras. I have to be 100% honest here. It was over priced. For 2 alcapurrias, 4 bacalaitos, and an order of chicken fingers with fries was over $30 and that did not include drinks. The alcapurrias were ok, the bacalaitos were salty because they had extra table salt on top. The kids like the chicken finger and fries. Win, for the kids but I do not recommend this restaurant to any frituras. Highly disappointed. read more

Went for the first time yesterday and I loved it !!! Me and my friend shared the appetizer platter which e everyone should get .. it's all my favorite Puerto Rican foods on one dish !! .. we ended up making a meal of that so we didn't order any other dinner . I didn't get to try to food here, unfortunately I was at hopping and came a little late. But I have heard some good things about it. I did however did get to drink. Honestly I could do without the shots, very small plastic shot cups. Typically, other bars would give you a shot glass. Which is my kind of bar honestly, but the bartenders were kool. My friends knew the some of the bartenders and we all had a great chat. Not a large placer but I heard there is a back yard that they have decked out, might come back during the summer to check it out. Very nice atmosphere and they have a DJ that place some good music, I'll try is again... hopefully they'll invest in real shot glass for the alcoholics like me! read more

Brunch, frozen henny sangria, outdoor seating, puertorican food, perfect combo. Does your weekend need anything else ? I doubt it, pero Norwind's can deliver. Casual environment. The music is good (all genres), the food is good (Hispanic style), table service is great and Keely the bartender is amazing. She is very attentive, sweet, has a very good memory, and is now a mixologist ;) They offer indoor and gated outdoor seating. Private party section as well. Mature crowd on Fridays and more of a mix crowd on Saturdays. read more

Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and calming. Our server especially helped ease my nerves while we were finalizing seating and guest details, and after that, I genuinely did not have to worry about a thing. And the food? Absolutely incredible. Truly perfection. As a vegan, it meant so much to fully enjoy every part of my wedding meal without compromise. The rum punch was fantastic, our guests loved the open bar package, and the entire evening flowed so seamlessly. The aesthetic is pure island luxury -- elevated, warm, vibrant, and beautiful. I recently visited Norwinds and had the pleasure of trying their unique take on Puerto Rican bar food. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was truly inviting since they were bumping salsa music. The service was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The food was the real star of the show, with each dish bursting with flavor. The traditional Puerto Rican flavors were perfectly balanced, and the bar food was elevated to a whole new level. Standouts for me included the Mofongo and the Sliders. To die for, ouf. The drinks menu was also impressive, I highly recommend the Henny Sangria. That thing had me litttttttt.
