Perfect from start to finish. Called NWSD after two other companies did not pan out on insurance coverage and / or reviews by past customers. Contacted by phone, Dave showed up a bit early (yes!), measured & discussed options for the master shower, figured as long as he was here, would have him look at the 2nd shower as I wanted to replace it at a later time due to budget - he made time to do that as well. He was also very Covid aware, wearing a mask, which I hadn't experienced from the other companies - thumbs up! Received the quote back in less than 2 days, everything we discussed (glass type, frame type, installation/haul away) was captured in the quote. Checking their reviews - they seemed to have the kind of customer service that matched not only what I experienced in the quote/bid process, but in follow up as well. After reviewing both bids, decided to do both doors @ the same time and they accommodated my work schedule / time off to accomplish that. Appreciated it! The 30 year old doors that stuck, leaked and were missing interior handles are no more! What a beautiful difference - the new doors are semi-frameless, and can be opened/closed with one finger and there's no more squeaking as they open or close - silence is golden. I love that the handles are drilled through the glass, the rain pattern of the glass is beautiful as well. They showed up on-time for the installation, they cleaned up everything as they went and were done with both shower door installations in 3.5 hours, leaving documentation of the glass treatment as well as instructions on removing the painters tape on the sweeps and when we could use the showers. They have been a joy to deal with (quote to down-payment to scheduling to installation) and am impressed with the professionalism and courtesy I was treated with. I e-mailed these folks re: Installing a glass partition for my bathroom. 1 day later they got back top me and said their guy Max would get ahold of me, he never did. Six days later I re-inquired and they replied 1 day later saying "Apologies Vern. I'll follow up with Max to see where he's at". Still nothing, 8 days into this endeavor. Dave is the owner who came to fix our shower door which was scraping the stone surround. He came equipped with proper tools and took more than 30 minutes to change the alignment of the door to function normally without scraping. It was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had in a while to watch someone exercise his or her craft in a meticulous manner. I got a few estimates for what I needed, Northwest shower door was not the cheapest but seemed very professional. Their installers were amazing communication from the front office was poor. upon installation, one of the doors was incorrectly made and I was told someone would call me to arrange for the installation. No one called so I called them after a few days. No apology was made. Again, delivery hadn't happened and it seem like a long time delay so I called again. I was told they could install it in a day or two but unfortunately they had promised me the first appointment of the morning but couldn't honor that. Again, no apologies. He even led us to save some money and make a much better door handle choice. Then - the installers who came out were talented, patient and very professional. Turns out one of the pieces was the wrong glass - and Michelle ordered a replacement right away and we had it installed about a week later (MUCH earlier than I thought it would be - yay!) and without another install charge. One of the things that tends to impress me the most about a company is how they work with a customer in situations where something goes wrong (for whatever reason). The negative reviews all seem to revolve around someone not getting their door as quickly as they had hoped. These are custom made pieces of glass cut to fit your specific space. Anytime you are dealing with the manufacturing of custom items, there are numerous people and moving parts involved in the production process. You are not ordering an item from Amazon Prime folks !!! I have had 2 shower doors installed by Northwest Shower Door. One was ready for install ahead of expected, and one they had to wait for a part from a secondary supplier. Nothing anyone could do about that. They called and let me know as soon as they realized they could not meet their "tentative install date," and then they re-scheduled the install as soon as the part became available to them. We had a glass shower door installed recently and the process went great. We called and scheduled an appointment with them and they came to our house. They took all the measurements, walked us thru different options, and allowed us to customize the order to our needs/wants. We were able to customize everything from where the door would sit, height/opening at the top, handles, clamps, glass thickness, treatments, etc. After they had everything fabricated, the installers came. They put blankets on our shower floor and bathroom floor, installed everything in one quick visit, cleaned everything up. They also walked us thru how the seals would work, how to clean the shower doors, etc. 24 hours later after letting things dry we were using our great new shower door. My elderly parents bought a shower enclosure from Northwest Shower Door to complete a bathroom model to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and host 10 family members from around the world. Dave said it would be 3-4 weeks to installation. After my parents paid under that agreement and waited 3 weeks, they called to find installation won't happen until almost 5 1/2 weeks. This is after the "big day" which was disclosed at the measuring phase. My parents will have to share their main bathroom with 10 guests as they celebrate their anniversary thanks to the delay. Five stars for these guys. We stopped at the showroom to get an idea on kinds of class, fixtures, how long the doors take to make, and most of all- what they cost. They're one of the few places open on Saturdays. We provided some rough details on what we were looking for and were told the quote would be ready in a few days. Sure enough- two days later the quote arrived and it was in line with what we thought it would be. We asked for a small discount- which they gave us. Their price was better than other companies- and a LOT better than Lowes, Home Depot etc. Cesar came out to do the measurements and promised the glass would be ready for installation two days before Christmas. His team showed up promptly on 12/23 for the install- which took about 3 hours total. The door looks great, the install guys did a lovely job (very clean, not loud at all)- and we feel the new shower's total cost was very good value. These guys are honest and hardworking. My contractor recommended Northwest Shower Door so I headed down to look around. I was met by a nice woman that was vague and did not offer any advice. She did give me a card to call so I called and left a message. It was a horrid experience as the sales man was combative and wanting to not show up. I am remodeling three bathrooms and this was the first one done. He wanted to make sure he did not have to come out twice to do the bid if we weren't ready. I told him my contractor told me to call so I suspect we were ready. He just would not stop talking over me and telling me how many quotes he does when people are not ready. R.L. I feel your pain! My experience almost mirrored yours! I too had high hopes based on the reviews and a recommendation by a friend. Like you, we wanted to give a local company the business rather than a big box store but the delays we experienced didn't endear us to using them again. We started the process on 9/15 with a request for an estimate for a new shower door. Dave (the owner) called us on 9/17 & dropped by the house to do the measurements and indicated we would get the estimate emailed the next day. A week later on 9/24 I followed up and the gal (Tran??) in the office couldn't locate it but would check on it and call me back. No call! I followed up again on 9/29 and the same gal answered and said she would check with Dave and call me back. Isn't that what she told me last week??? The following day Dave called to stop by to re-measure the area. Fortunately we are retired and can be available at the last minute. Dave's a really nice guy and recalls taking the measurements and evidently there was some computer issue at the office and our original worksheet was lost. We received the estimate via email the following day and we signed the contract to do the work on 10/3. We were told the door would take a couple weeks which we were fine with since we were heading out for vacation for a few days. We returned from vacation on 10/16 expecting a voicemail about our door. Nothing! I called to followup on 10/21 more than a month after I had started the process and to my surprise (or maybe not) the same gal told me she would check with Dave and call back. Later that day Michelle called to inform me that the door hadn't even been ordered!!! She had no excuse and accepted the blame. At that point if I hadn't invested all the time and effort I would have cancelled the order but who would be inconvenienced? Certainly not them! I decided to just get it done but will never go there again! The order was expedited and the install was done on 10/28. The product is great but the experience with the office left a lot to be desired. You almost get the impression that your business isn't important to them. As RL mentioned no offer to compensate us for our trouble was tendered and I felt I shouldn't have been the one to ask. We also have a couple other projects in mind at a rental we own but we'll continue to shop around. read more
