Our realtor recommended Northside Painting as a top notch crew that provided reasonable prices, and we couldn't have been happier with our time working with them to have our home repainted. Chuck and John run a well oiled operation. They always showed up, emailed, and called when they said they would. They gave us honest advice, a quote that felt reasonable, and never once did we feel pressured into making any decisions. Both Chuck and John are super personable, easy to work with, and we'd happily recommend them to anyone else looking for a top notch experience. We'll certainly be calling them for future painting needs. read more

We had them paint a few rooms in our house before moving in -- they did an exceptional job. Super easy to work with, helped us find the right shades of white, and reminded us why family owned businesses deliver a level of customer support that is undeniable. read more

I was recommended to use Northside Painting by my realtor for painting the walls but then found out they also did cabinets, so I hired them for both! First off, their prices were reasonable, and Chuck was so very organized and made sure to keep in contact with me as my scheduling was all over the place and uncertain. He accommodated my schedule, and went out of his way to make sure it got done asap. John and team came in and did an AMAZING and thorough job, and John paid extra care in making sure details and quality control was in order. John called me about any questions they had, and made sure to do multiple walk throughs with me as needed. The job of both cabinets and walls were done in two days, and I really couldn't be happier! I highly recommend going with this company for all of your painting needs as both the cabinets and walls turned out superb. A++++ read more

I was referred to Northside Painting by an acquaintance for a small job I needed doing. Since it was a small job they were able to give me a quote with just a few pictures and a description of work. They worked around my schedule and finished even faster than anticipated. Kamil was quick, quiet, and did great work. The price was competitive and less than I expected to pay for the job. I will definitely be calling them again if and when I need a bigger job done read more

Yes! They did a great job for us. For a 2 bedroom condo, they brought at least 8 painters. Every part of the space was to be painted. Ceilings, trims, walls, doors, inside closets, some patching /sanding and the bathroom cabinets. Chuck (the owner) came, too, to make sure all went well. It was done and they were gone in 9 hours. A great job! read more

Chuck and John run a tight ship! They were professional, friendly, did great work and the price was reasonable. They painted almost every wall in my 2,000 sq ft home in a single day. They left the place clean and did a fantastic job. Chuck helped me make some great decisions about colors during our walk through. I'm so happy with the result! Can't thank you enough, Chuck and John! read more

Chuck and his crew were phenomenal!!! Chuck consulted with me prior to provide an estimate and get the colors correct. The day of a crew of two men came to paint my upstairs and living room. The prior owners had a lot of stickers on the ceiling of a child's room and after the guys were done you wouldn't have know. The completely made the ceiling smooth. They finished in about a half day and cleaned everything up. I hired Chuck again to about a month later to finish the living room and hall. One gentleman came and finished the job in a few hours. The pricing was competitive and Chuck was super responsive to texts and emails. I'd highly recommend using this company. read more

My realtor recommended Chuck. I got a quote from him to paint my new house and it was MUCH more reasonable than I expected (like - by a lot). And - he was able to get me in fast, AND he was able to complete the job in 2 days. 2 days flat for a big house, painting every room/closet/much of the trim. The day they started I met them at the house at 6am. The crew was already there waiting. They were ready to go - 9 guys! Super professional and they got right down to it. The work? Fantastic. I am thrilled. I was even able to get Chuck over to my old house to paint it before I listed it to sell - again, super reasonable quote, and they did the whole house in a day. He's a pro. His guys are pros. And you won't pay a fortune (which is the surprising thing). I don't know why you'd pick anyone else. Northside is the real deal. read more

Chuck and crew are incredible! We had a lot of moving pieces with our move, and he was extremely accommodating and patient as we figured things out. He is extremely thorough, and works really hard to make sure all of the details are accounted for. In addition to the amazing customer service, the finished product looked amazing! My friend referred me his way, and we loved the experience so much, we ended up referring Northside to another friend who they ended up going with. Would absolutely recommend! read more

Chuck was recommended to me by my realtor when I was getting my previous house ready to sell. He and his team did an incredible job. Chuck took special pains to schedule us in during a busy time. He's a fun, personable guy and our initial estimate meeting also covered a lot of ground on our families and the Cubs. His quote was very reasonable, bordering on generous. His team showed up on the dot and had a sizable ceiling repainting done in just a few hours. The work was flawless. I've since had Chuck's team back to paint various rooms in my new home, and I would recommend him and his crew to anyone who was looking for a professional, thorough, excellent painter. read more

I sell real estate and many of my clients need to freshen up their homes before we put them on the market. They rely on me to recommend people I trust, and Chuck is at the top of my list. Chuck has been our "go to" painter for years. He is professional, gets the job done quickly, and is reasonably priced. He is also a terrific, hardworking business owner. I give him my highest recommendation! read more

BEST EVER!!!! My Mom used Northside to paint her apartment and they did a great job so I called them to come do the kitchen at our house. Chuck was so quick to respond, quote and schedule. John was the one who came to the do the job. HE WAS AMAZE. Brought everything he needed. Moved anything that needed to moved. Covered everything. Was extremely polite and courteous and did an AWESOME job and perfect clean up after. John rocks!! Can't wait to have them come back and do the rest of the house!!!! C.C. S. Chicago read more

Very disappointed. At first I was very impressed with the work this computer did in painting my condo. I let a few things slide (cracked outlet plates, a shower rod I had to replace because the crew lost a part, and a scratch in my floor that Chuck was supposed to fix afterwards but didn't) because the job looked great...at first. But now, I have two cracks in my wall, that I was assured would be fixed properly, that have reappeared (same spots, same cracks) within less than 4 months after the job. I also have nail dents in the ceiling again in a spot. The response that I got was that these were stress cracks and walking on the roof may cause them again and that rain on a completely separated section of the roof, walled off from these spots was to blame. As a client on the top floor of a condo building in which the roof needs to be accessed from time to time (hvac service, dryer vent cleaning, roof inspection, etc), this seems like a poor excuse since that's the job. I think if the crew had used crack tape and not just plaster on the cracks, I wouldn't be in the position of having to re-do sections of the job less than 6 months later. This was a big financial investment/costly job for me. read more

Chuck and his team were really great to work with for the interior painting of our new home in Oak Park that definitely needed some love from wear and tear of previous owners. From the start, Chuck was incredibly professional and quick to respond. When he came to evaluate the property, he gave us a formal quote in a prompt manner and broke it down reasonably. Having initially gotten a quote from another painter who said it would take 5-6 days and gave a quote more than double Chuck's, we were nervous at first, but Chuck's pricing was super reasonable, plus he was able to complete the project in one day, just a week after the initial site visit! He triple checked with us regarding the colors we selected and where we wanted them. His thoroughness was so appreciated and everything looked great. The quality is sharp and fresh and we are very excited to get settled in our new home. And as an added bonus, he was super friendly and positive to chat with. My fiance and I chose Northside Painting after an exhaustive search of the internet finding the best, most experienced crew at the right price. Thankfully, we found Chuck and team and we are thrilled with the results. We moved into a 1880's building in the Lincoln Park neighborhood that had gorgeous bones, but needed a refresh. Chuck was responsive and prompt with his quote. He was a true partner to me as a worried about choosing the right paint colors-- he's truly an expert in his craft, making solid recommendations that made a huge impact towards the successful project. Chuck was prompt, arriving with 8 crew members that have been working with him for 10+ years. They got to work right away. They were focused, detail-oriented, and a job that was quoted 5+ days by some other painting companies, was completed in 2. And, the quality simply can't be beat. You can trust Chuck with your painting project of any size and scale. Halfway through the job, I came by with a dresser that needed painting. I hadn't discussed this addition with Chuck and his team painted it beautifully at no extra charge. Not only are they true professionals, but they're the nicest people. I recommend Chuck without any reservations and I plan to use him as my go-to guy for any painting job! read more

These guys were great! The whole crew (7 guys) showed up wearing their painters' whites and they were right on time, in fact a bit early. We had them paint several walls and doorways in our store...the big trick was taking care of existing wall hangings and merchandise while taking out the old vinyl wall graphics, repairing drywall, sanding, and finally priming/painting! The covered everything in plastic, masked off the fixtures and cleaned up nearly every scrap of dust once they finished! They were scheduled for about 8 hours each night, for the next two nights...we really needed them to do it in less time...if possible. The crew boss, Chuck, responded to our request quite professionally and brought in as many guys as he had available. The crew was polite, respectful of property and took time to make sure the extra coats of paint were looking perfect before they called it a night. We did a walk-thru at the beginning and end of the job to make sure it was all done correctly. I was very pleased with the expert level of workmanship the entire crew displayed. I hope that my company will hire them for future painting jobs. Chuck to the rescue! I recently had a great experience with Chuck and his team! Prior to Chuck, we hired Antonio Carey who did an awful job painting our place. After firing him, my fiance and I were not only shaken from the experience but we were also not as trusting as we'd normally be. We called 3 companies based mostly off Yelp reviews and Chuck really impressed us. We had a big job- painting a 3 bedroom/ 3 bathroom duplex including all door, trim, etc. Chuck's quote was reasonable, he seemed very knowledgeable and communicative. He had 8 guys working in our place for 3 days and at the end everything looked great! It was an absolute pleasure working with Chuck and of we ever need any painting done, he'll be my first call! read more

Chuck and his crew were fantastic - true pros at their profession. I contacted many painting companies for quotes for my newly purchased condo. I needed my master bedroom/sunroom painted along with 10 doors in the unit. His price was great and I was really impressed by his professionalism and communication during the whole process. And the work they did was excellent! I cannot recommend Northside Painting enough. If you are in the Chicago area and need work done, contact them. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. read more

I was impressed with Chuck and his crew. I had gotten 3 quotes prior to Northside, and all of the other companies quoted multiple days for the painting/drywall repair that I needed. Chuck was friendly, down-to-earth, and quoted the job at similar cost for 1 day! He also got me on the schedule within a week. The crew arrived early on the day of the job. They were professional and took care in their work. I was very happy with the results. The place looked great! I will most certainly look to Chuck and his crew for any further painting/drywall repair needs! Thanks, guys! read more

Chuck is a very straightforward and approachable guy. Him and his crew were professional, polite, and super efficient. They painted all the interior walls of our 3-story house in a little less than 8 hours, as promised. They were able to cater to some of our more customized requests such as painted ceilings, accent walls, and even two-toned walls and did such an amazing job, I was elated. Their quote was also the best we got amongst three different painters, and their turnaround time was very impressive. I must admit, I was a little skeptical about their promised end time but they were all packed up and out of our house ten minutes before that. In addition, he does his best to work around your schedule - we were able to get scheduled only a week after he swung by to give his estimates and a quote. I will definitely recommend Chuck and his crew to all of my friends and we will definitely ring him up for future paint work that needs to be done. read more

As good as it gets! Chuck and the crew arrived on time (even 10 minutes early) and painted my entire condo (two coats Benjamin Moore) including all windows, doors, ceilings, trim - you name it - in one day. I hired Chuck to paint my condo and was very impressed. He and his crew arrived very early (they wanted to come as early as possible) to ensure the entire job was finished in one day (I had about 8 different colors). His quote was quite reasonable. They did all the hole patching and shifted all the furniture. I was so impressed with him that I recommended him to our association and his crew then painted our communal hallways. He was efficient at fixing any little blemishes I found in their work. I also found Chuck very easy to get in touch with in preparation for the job. read more

This review is way over due! Last year about month after I moved into my new condo the upstairs neighbors tub started leaking in through my bathroom ceiling. To put it simply I contacted Northside for a quote and ended up hiring them for the job to replace the drywall that was cut out of my bathrooms ceiling for repairs. Chuck sent one of his guys over within a day or two after everything was confirmed. Now the best part, I was in the middle of painting my bathroom walls when all of this happened and only had a little bit to finish over my tub near the ceiling where the water leak work had been done. (I had stopped painting until all of the repairs were finished.) The guy who came to repair the ceilings drywall was nice enough to finish the painting I had to do too! Didn't even ask he just was nice enough to do it since the paint and everything was already there. It was a nice surprise to see when he was showing the me the finished drywall work, which was also done perfectly. Definitely recommend these guys! read more

My wife and I recently contracted Northside to paint our condo. To sum our experience up in one word: WOW. From beginning to end we were nothing short of impressed. The owner, Chuck, is extremely personable, funny, and professional. Answering every question we had in a timely and articulate fashion. He visited our place three times in total; once for the estimate (very reasonable and in-line, or better, than other estimates we received), another to finalize paint colors, and lastly to help his crew get setup the day our place was painted. The quality of the work is outstanding; clean, straight lines, minimal to no mess, and no spilled paint on our carpet or wood floors. The crew was able to complete our place in 1 day (other contractors quoted 4 or 5 days)! Overall, we are very satisfied, and would highly recommend Northside to anyone looking to get their place painted. read more

Northside Painting completed a large interior job for us yesterday. Chuck and his Team did a wonderful job! Our entryway has 20' ceilings, along with stairs to work around, so this was not an easy job. Chuck gave me a start date back in May and stuck to it. He checked in several times since May to keep me updated on timing. He brought a large crew of 8 and completed the entire job in one day, including lots of wall and ceiling patching. They kept the place clean, covered everything to protect from paint splatters, moved all furniture and even removed/replaced switch plates and wall hangings. When done, Chuck walked around and inspected everything with me, fixing a couple of small issues before he allowed his crew to leave the site. We have already shared Chuck's contact info with others and would highly recommended his company. read more

My husband and I hired North Side to paint two rooms, and in addition have some minor dry wall and water damage repaired to those rooms. Chuck was proactive in suggesting a solution to how to remount a video screen on one of our walls; now it's more stable than before. He also made suggestions to the type of finish for our paint choices and was patient while I went through 7 paint samples before making any decisions on color. Chuck's crew were pleasant and they cleaned up after their work. The prices were very reasonable and we'd definitely use North Side again. read more

Chuck and his team are amazing! A friend of mine recommended him to me after he painted her 3 bed/3 bath duplex down and I couldn't be happier. Chuck's quote was reasonable and he talked me through everything since it was my first time hiring painters (new homeowner jitters were getting the best of me). Anyway, he worked out the timing with the other contractors I had coming to my place, which made it much easier to get all of the work done in an efficient manner. In addition, he was always early and/or on time and did a fantastic job painting my entire place. He painted the ceilings, trim, and walls in my entire 2 bed/2 bath condo and managed to get it done in one day -- I think he started at 6am and finished up around 4pm. No doubt in my mind that if/when I get bored with these paint colors, he'll be the first and only person I call. read more

Chuck and his crew are amazing! They've done work for us twice and it went exactly as he promised it would! Couldn't be more pleased!!

Chuck is the man and Northside did excellent work! The estimate was in line with the other 2 we received and it matched the final amount charged. We hired him for our master bedroom. He and his team were clean, fast, but didn't lack quality. They were even willing to do several touch ups around the condo. Excellent communication and a trustworthy individual. Job was completed a few weeks before Christmas and who did I get a voice mail from wishing me a Merry Christmas (on Christmas or maybe Eve)...Chuck! Unbelievable. What a quality guy. So, if/when there's painting to be done down the road, Northside will be getting a call. Highly recommended. Thanks Chuck & Northside! read more

Having just purchased our first home, my wife and I turned to Yelp when looking for a painter. PHENOMENAL!!!! First and foremost, Chuck is a great guy. . .super nice and seems like a guy you'd want to have a beer with :-) Now on to the painting, the cost was very reasonable and he has 2 - 5 guys on a job so you can have your entire place painted in a day (we have a three bedroom condo in the city. . . he finished in about 5 hours). They did a great job and if there is any damage to the wall pre-paint you can't tell after they are done. He will be my partner on all future jobs!!! read more

Chuck and his team from Northside Painting were incredible! Chuck was super friendly and easy to work with, and holy cow does my kitchen look great now! Not only did they do an excellent job painting my cabinets, but they also drilled holes and installed all of my new cabinet hardware for me. AND when I asked on the day-of they gladly and easily touched up a couple spots around the window where water had gotten inside and cracked the paint on the window trim and the wall. Everything was finished and cleaned up in one morning. Excellent job all around and INCREDIBLY reasonable price-wise... Chuck even refused to take more money from me when I tried to pay him more than what he quoted me! Couldn't be happier with the service, I highly recommend Northside for just about anything you might need done around the house! read more

I just had our condo painted yesterday by Northside Painting and Decorating. The team did a great job and Chuck was great to work with. He helped suggest colors and finishes and also helped me decide on low VOC paint. They arrived right on time at 7:30am and were done by 2:30pm - every room except the bathrooms and closets were painted, so I thought that was a speedy and efficient job. Any holes from paintings were patched and painted over. They moved our furniture and even put it back in place. It was nice to not have to lift anything! I had gotten four other quotes and Northside was right in the middle. I would definitely use Northside. They give you the right price for the job and do the work they say they'll do. I was leery of the other companies but felt good about choosing Northside. Also to note - I needed the job done asap and Chuck provided an estimate within a few days, and called me back over the weekend to answer questions and solidify our painting job. Everything was done within a week (from estimate to painting). I highly recommend his team! read more

Northside Painting painted our entire condo in a day, about a week before we moved in. They also fixed the settling cracks and patched all of the holes left by the previous owners. Chuck won our business with his competitive bid and his professional, yet friendly demeanor. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the results! Chuck and his team arrived and finished on time. This was very important as we live in a high rise building with fairly strict rules on when you can have contractors working and using the freight elevator. All in all, I recommend Chuck at Northside if you are looking for a painter. read more
