I ordered a custom, hand- painted Gracie wallpaper from the LA showroom, and Edmond was very honest about his inability to install it. I did appreciate his honesty, as this was ultra pricey paper and I needed it installed perfectly according to my unit's elevations. They did our open concept kitchen and living room as well as a long hallway, ceiling and lower baseboards. They were quick only needing four days to do it all; definitely appreciated this as my husband was working from home, an additional house guest, 3 month old baby and a dog that just had surgery three days prior to the start. Edmond is an amazing and talented craftsman! Starting in the fall of 2010 in my badly deteriorated kitchen, he completely restored and remodeled my nineteenth-century Lincoln Park house. Many of the walls throughout the house were in such poor condition that they had to be completely replaced with new drywall. He also meticulously restored and repaired what remained of the original plaster moldings in my dining room, filling in the gaps with foam board so seamlessly that I can't tell where the old stops and the new begins! His masterpiece is the beautiful archway between my living room and dining room. He straightened up the arch (which was off plumb due to the house's settlement) and installed beautiful vintage wood moldings, complete with curved corners. (The moldings had been salvaged by my late husband, who had stored them in the garage long ago.) Edmond also re-installed other wood window moldings found in the garage. In my master bedroom, he enlarged and installed a new window, also framed with vintage molding. This restoration work was a long term project - it all took close to five years - but was worth every minute. Edmond also kept careful records of his time and expenses and presented a fully itemized bill each week. I would be proud to show his work to anyone interested in hiring him. read more
