Raul and his team made our dreams come true. We needed to paint the exterior of our house and Raul helped guide us to a paint color family that we are thrilled with. The entire team is extremely detail oriented, efficient and communicative. We always knew what was happening at each stage of the project and Raul kept us up to date on anything that came up, big or small. We are blown away by the quality of the work and attention to detail. I recommend Raul and his team to anyone looking to get their home painted. I will never use another painter besides Raul again! read more

Disrespectful, screaming at me over the phone, speaking in a rude verbally abusive way on for different occasions in person. Think of your worst Contractor nightmare multiply it by 1000 and that's what the past two weeks were like. There were several pieces of work they were supposed to do, but they did not. For example, there is a section of the bathroom that they simply didn't paint because in their words, "it was a different color "from the rest of the bathroom. But the written agreement said to paint the bathroom, not only paint the bathroom with the main color or the color you feel like painting. They also cost me quite a bit of extra money because verbally they said they could do certain pieces of work, but then when they went ahead and did them, they charged me extra, which I had no choice to pay since they already completed the work. By far, the absolute worst contractor experience I have ever had. They were so harsh, disrespectful, and inappropriate that I will also be reporting them to Angie's list and the Better Business Bureau. read more

Raul, the owner, along with Cesar and Jorge just finished painting our rental unit and did an outstanding job. They arrived early, worked late, communicated effectively, and were a pleasure to work with. I had doubts about what color to paint a small bathroom and Raul provided excellent suggestions and explained why certain tones or depths of color wouldn't be ideal, and which were complimentary. Honestly, while we were chatting I thought I t kind of felt like consulting with a decorator. I'll be confident recommending them to friends and I ended up saving his contact information in my phone for future jobs, which I think is the ultimate compliment! read more

A perfect paint job. Raul and his crew didn't miss a spot. They paid attention to detail and were so transparent throughout the process. I will never have to look for another painter again. Rufino Painting is the only painter i will ever use. read more

Raul and his team did a great job repairing a large section of ceiling. He was very responsive in giving an estimate and explained the best course of action. The crew protected the room while installing drywall, taping and mudding, priming, and painting. Cleanup was also thorough. Raul texted updates as the job progressed, which was helpful as the repairs were in a rental unit. We have used other painters in the past, and Rufino has moved to the top of the list. read more

Rufino Painting- NO SHOW & NO CALL! Looking to paint all the exterior house trim plus the entire garage, figured it's not a small job. Decided to use Yelp service to find the right contractor for the job, was really hoping Yelp would get their companies properly vetted based on their internal reviews but unfortunately that's not the case. I was contacted by multiple painting contractors and picked couple to set up estimates. After a brief conversion via Yelp text msgs app I set up my estimate with Rufino Painting at 8:30am hoping I can get all this done fairly quickly prior to work and getting the kids ready in the morning. Here I am on the date of the estimate no show and no call, I decided to contact Rufino Painting via Yelp text app in hopes of Raul maybe is just running late but unfortunately no response. You always hear stories about contractors never showing up on time and being late on a job site unfortunately today is no different just another careless contractor. I guess I should be happy they're shown their true colors on day one instead messing things up once on the job. I wouldn't recommend this contractor to my enemy! Extremely disappointed and very frustrated by Yelp service for recommending this business. SMH Please don't even bother responding of how sorry you are because you don't understand basic customer acknowledgment and have no respect for other people time, again don't bother. read more

I recently had the distinct honor of working with Rufino Painting on a home project.I quickly came to the realization that Raul,Cesario, and Jorje were incredible artists, and that I was in the presence of professional, talented, masters of their craft. In 40 plus years of owning a 1920's English tudor,I have NEVER found anyone that even slightly compares to them. They transformed a room into a beautiful sanctuary of milky white walls,seaglass-colored beams, and restored a 100-year-old door into a masterpiece.Raul listened to my original ideas before gently nudging me in the right direction regarding paint colors.of course,Raul's ideas were perfection.Oh, and by the way,the room happens to be a garage! I hope to use ONLY them from now on...thank you again to Raul,Cesario, and Jorje.... read more

I would like to say thank you to Rufino for letting me know up front that he did not work in my area. I really appreciated setting up a quick phone consult and his willingness to give me a quote off of pictures for me to compare as I continued to shop around. His responsiveness and honesty are two shining qualities. read more

I hired Raul and his team to repaint the ceiling in my living/dining/kitchen space. He was able to swing by the day after I initially reached out to provide an estimate. He did so on the spot, and it was in line with what I was expecting. We kept in communication about when they could do the work, and it was completed a week later. Your timing may vary, but I trust that Raul will keep you informed. And the ceiling looks great, they did excellent work. I would definitely hire Rufino Painting again for additional projects. read more

Raul Rufino is a complete professional! He knows his trade and has excellent customer service skills! Very knowledgeable in relation to types of paint for your specific needs. Raul and his team are fantastic. We bought an old house that needed a lot of plaster work. They did phenomenal work replacing the ceiling, fixing walls, and (of course) painting. Raul was very helpful with his recommendations, and kept us up on their progress. His pricing was more than reasonable for the speed and quality of the work delivered. We would definitely hire Rufino Painting again if we decide to redo other parts of the house read more

Rufino Painting did an excellent job on our house, painting the exterior wooden trim, including windows and doors, sealing our porch ceilings and touching up our Hardie board siding. They previously painted the interior of our house. They arrive early and work hard all day, doing an excellent, meticulous job quickly. In addition to their fantastic work, Raul and his team are honest and truly enjoyable to be around. I give them my highest recommendation! read more

Raul and his brothers were great! He returned my inquiry in a day and was able to come out to the house to give me an estimate within a day of moving in. He and his crew were always on time and worked well into the day. The estimate was fair and I appreciated it because I felt like other contractors wanted to charge me higher prices for no good reason. He even primed my walls for wallpaper installation! I highly recommend Rufino painting for their honesty, skill, and hard-work! read more

Rufino Painting is fantastic. Raul is a wonderful, trustworthy guy. His crew is hardworking, meticulous, and FAST. His prices are reasonable and fair, and he gets the job done quickly. He is quick to respond and great with texting. It's always a pleasure working with him. Raul first painted the upstairs of our new old house. He worked closely with us to make sure our colors, finishes, and molding looked just how we wanted it. He did such an amazing job, we hired him again for our downstairs. He again worked with us on colors and making sure we were totally okay with the price before we started. We love Rufino and have recommended them to all of our friends. Best painters I've used in Chicago. Working with Raul was an absolute pleasure. He was prompt to respond to my request and came over to our house the next day to provide a quote. Three days later, him and his team we're at our home doing some drywall and paint repairs. Other companies told me the job would take two days, but Raul got it done in just under 7 hours. His pricing is very competitive and the work is impeccable. A company that truly takes pride in what it does. I cannot recommend Rufino highly enough and will be using them again in the future. read more

Very pleased with the speed, level of care, and professionalism of Raul and his team - my rental unit has never looked better. I appreciated the attention to detail, which included suggestions for drywall repair and things like replacing old lights in hard to reach places that they would be working near, and suggestions for type of paint. They did great job of letting me know their professional opinion for any fixes but ultimately letting me decide what to do. During the painting they showed up on time and were communicative about their progress and about any changes that needed to be made. I was impressed by the level of prep work and how much care they took. I knew painting the unit would make a difference but was still shocked by how much it changed for the better. It allowed me to show the unit with confidence. I will be using them again for any painting project big or small. read more

Top marks for Raul - I had my Northfield house painted in June 2014, and it still looks great today. His crew did the proper surface preparation and carefully applied two coats. After nine years, the quality of work shows even today. read more

Raul and his team were great. They recently completed plaster patching, repairing and primering on a 2 flat on the NW side of the city. Prior to hiring Rufino Painting, I had gotten multiple estimates and they were split down the middle as far as if the plaster should be repaired, if drywall should go over it or if it should be gutted and replaced with drywall. After reviewing all of the estimates, I decided to work with Raul because I got the impression he was hardworking, meticulous and most importantly someone who would work with me. After all, if anything were to go wrong, I wanted to make sure I was working with someone who would be understanding of the situation and be apart of the solution vs apart of the problem. In addition to the above, the estimate document itself was professional and clear in regards to what the scope of work was. There were other companies who provided vague descriptions of the work they would perform even after requests for them to specify. Fast forward to the work itself, it was done well, slightly under budget for material costs and faster than estimated. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Rufino Painting and I look forward to working with them on the next project. read more

I own a 2 flat and we experienced some water damage to the upstairs (rental unit) bedroom windows. After paying tuck pointers to handle the exterior brick work repairs a few weeks previous I decided to tackle the interior plaster repair and paintwork myself, while my tenants were going to be out of town for a week. It only took about an hour to realize that the damage was more extensive than I had originally thought, and that I was well out of my depth so far as a DIY project. That's when I contacted Raul. He showed up same day to quote the job, and after my explaining that I wanted to get job completed before my tenants returned, agreed to start work the next day. He and his crew were super professional, quick and clean. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their work and consider the price they charged to be very fair indeed. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rufino Painting and will absolutely use them for future projects. read more

They contacted me back almost immediately after I reached out via email and came out for a quote within a few days. We were looking to have our dining room/family room/ hallway painted (it's an open concept condo so it all runs together) with 12 foot ceilings as well as have some outlets for speakers sealed and patched. They arrived on time with 3 painters. Raul, the owner is very friendly and accommodating. The entire job took from about 7:30 am to 1 pm ad they even let me change my mind about the paint color at very last minute. read more

Raul and his brother and nephew did a wonderful job painting my one bedroom condo. They were polite, neat and tidy, and did a beautiful job with the actual painting and plaster repair. Had some water damage from an upstairs unit. Needed new drywall and painting. He did excellent work. Can't even tell there was damage. Always on time. Fantastic all around. We called Raul to demo failed plaster in a bedroom and put up drywall. He started problem-solving right off the bat and ended up being able to save the plaster. They also painted the room and new trim (installed by a colleague they recommended). First talked to him on a Wednesday; they were on the job Friday, and the whole room was done within a week. Everything looks great, and the prices were very appropriate for the work. They were also fun to talk to, took good care of the areas of the house they were in, and were quiet enough that we could work from home with no problem (thanks, pandemic). We'd very happily hire them again. read more

Our experience with Raul and his team was great. Raul called me within 24 hours of my request and offered to visit and provide an estimate the next morning. We were trying to get the interior of our condo (walls, trim, doors, ceilings) painted before we moved in, and we were on a tight schedule to get it done. Raul offered to adjust his team's schedule to meet our timeframe, and they started working for us within a few days of the estimate. The crew was very professional - showing up early each day, working efficiently, and completing the job ahead of schedule. Our condo had a number of holes in the walls left by the previous owner that the crew patched as part of their prep-work and the walls look like new after prep and painting. Based on all of the above, I would definitely recommend Rufino Painting to friends and neighbors. read more

Great to work with. Prompt communication and came by soon after we talked to give us a quote. He was able to fit us into his schedule soon after that. Rufino Painting is fantastic. I recommend them without any reservation. I'm usually pretty picky about contractors. I've hired lots of them and even the good ones often do something that I'm not happy about. Raul and his crew, on the other hand, are the best workers I've ever had the pleasure of hiring. They estimated a five day job to paint just about everything in our house. On Monday they arrived, as promised, at seven AM, and worked until 5. Each day when they left they cleaned up, leaving the house spotless. They were meticulous and on the couple of occasions that I asked for some retouching they fixed it immediately. It was like that every single day. They finished up a day earlier than planned and I'm thrilled with how everything looks. I don't think they're the cheapest painters around, but there were no surprises and they did exactly as they promised. Do yourself a favor and give them a call for an estimate. read more

Raul and his team did a great job with an interior paint job in spring of 2017. Of the many painters I asked for an estimate, Raul was consistently the most responsive, prompt, and kind.
