Isn't Yelp such a great tool? The hubs and I were sitting in the parking lot at church yelping where we'd go for brunch. This place popped up and neither of us had been before so we decided to check it out - and boooyy are we glad we did. It was super delicious! The hubs got a breakfast burrito with potatoes and I got the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with homemade kettle chips. YUMM! The kettle chips, has my husband described them, are the best in the whole city. I'd have to second that! We loved the cute decor and atmosphere. The green grassy walls on the indoor patio adds a cute charm, along with the pillows on the cushioned benches. We loved it and will be back for sure! read more

Wow! How have I never been to this place! The menu was amazing and I couldn't decide whether to have breakfast or lunch, which are both served all day. We started with mimosas or bloody Mary's and flavored coffees with Brandy and whip cream. Seriously I could not decide what to get. Everything on the menu looked amazing. I ended up with a turkey, avocado sandwich and vegetable soup and my friend had salmon, avocado, toast. I enjoyed Brunch at Northside Kitchenette. I went at about 9:30 on a Saturday morning and our wait was only about 10 minutes. I ordered a coffee. They had other beverages to choose, including several teas. So many items looked good, but I decided to go for the breakfast burrito. It was delicious! I asked for extra salsa on the side, which I was glad I did. The potatoes that come with it are crispy and delicious. I will be back son to try the breakfast sandwich! read more

Northside Kitchenette is the perfect place to go for a brunch with girlfriends. They have a decent cocktail menu (Frose anyone) as well as the usual coffee options. The menu is a mix of healthier brunch and lunch foods (salads, sandwiches) as well as more hearty options that I tend to go for (breakfast burrito, kitchenette sink). There is a good mix of sweet and savory breakfast foods to choose from. It can be a bit crowded on Saturday, you can always leave your number with them and walk around broadripple until they call you. Another advantage- dedicated parking lot! read more

Second visit - this post is about brunch. Had a breakfast combo with 2 eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes & sourdough toast - definitely could get similar brunch for less other places around town, depending on what you'd get (maybe not worth basic breakfast). The food was good, flavorful and the portion was great (although 2 slices of toast would have been nice. The turkey sausage was seasoned well, but was a little dry. There's really only one advantage to having a 7am physical therapy appointment on what happened to be a day off - once therapy was done, I had the chance to take myself out for a nice meal and snag my latest Yelp review. I'd contemplated checking out Northside Kitchenette for quite a while, but the hours aren't real agreeable to my schedule and by the time the weekend rolls around I typically have something else in mind. However, on this cold November Veteran's Day in Indy I decided it was the perfect time to check the place out right after they opened at 8am. As most likely know, Northside Kitchenette is in the same little strip center at 65th & College next to Northside Social and The Nook. They are all three owned by the same company, while the same company also owns Delicia and La Mulita. Northside Kitchenette is the little joint in the corner, a smallish and intimate breakfast/lunch/brunch joint that serves breakfast anytime and leans toward healthier fare. I arrived about ten minutes after they opened - in fact, while they were technically open they hadn't unlocked the door yet. I was greeted warmly by Robert, who was one of a couple people working and would be my server for the morning. By the time I left, only one more party arrived - however, I am aware they can get quite busy at times. They offer two different types of iced tea, both black and green, and I ordered the Brioche French Toast that came with roasted potatoes. I meant to take a photo, but I was honestly too overwhelmed at the generous serving size. The pricing is on par with the Broad Ripple area - the main dish came in at $12, while the entire bill came in right about $15 without tip. They do serve both beer and wine, though I suppose I'd have raised a brow ordering it at 8am. I should note accessibility issues. There's one accessible parking spot adjacent to the restaurant. It's not ADA compliant or really even that functional - this is especially true if you're a driver in a wheelchair. It should suffice if you're the passenger. The front door is a one-sided glass door, somewhat heavy, though staff noticed me quickly and opened the door. The tables all have easily movable chairs - my gut tells me it would be a bit challenging during a crowded time, but I found the arrangement could be easily adapted for those in wheelchairs. I found the environment quite casual - the metallic chairs are somewhat smallish with the overall decor having a bistro feel to it. The food was delicious. The Brioche French Toast came in large pieces with deliciously powdered sugar and browned to perfection. The roasted potatoes? Oh my word, they were stunning. I could be happy just having them for a meal. Seriously. I did get my always desired iced tea refill, without asking, and Robert was attentive without being intrusive. The price, while on par for Broad Ripple, struck me as a bit high but not obnoxiously so and I will admit the overall serving size and food quality made it a worthy investment. The service was top notch. The atmosphere was pleasing - probably my least favorite part of the experience, but nothing that detracted from the overall meal. I've wrestled with whether to rate this a 4 or 5-star experience, but given I can't really point to anything wrong and I'm already wanting to go back I'm going to say this is probably more a 4.5 and I'm moving it up to a 5-star experience and a delightful way to start my day off. read more

Went for brunch and the food was absolutely delicious. However, they only have regular coffee available (no lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) and it was mediocre at best. I'm not even a coffee aficionado by any means, but it was really disappointing to not have a good coffee during brunch. Got the traditional breakfast fare - eggs and potatoes were cooked wonderfully. YES! It is THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO EVER, adding avocado with spicy chorizo is the only way to go, thus TBBBE! It didn't even LAST TO GET A PIC. The Brioche French Toast is PHENOMENAL and the Kitchen Sink lived up to the hype for sure! Service was great for a busy and late Sunday morning. Went in for brunch this morning with a girlfriend. It is a very cute place tucked in. It has been on my list to try for awhile. I got the avocado toast this morning which was very good. A poached egg is not included here like it is some places, it is available for an additional $2 though. I don't think I have had it with cucumber on it before, great touch! It came with a side salad that had great presentation, however believe the dressing was ranch which just didn't fit. I think like a lemon vinaigrette or something light would have gone better. Also was hoping for a better coffee selection. Was in the mood for a latter or macchiato. Something iced but regular hot coffee is all that is available. Now imagine all this with the Pointers Sisters singing "you know my heart can make you happy, jump jump for my love...", then "I Will Survive" followed by every 1985 Richard Simmons workout song that ever graced your VCR. Decided to go have brunch with my daughters, niece and ex sister in law and the place we picked was closed so we googled since we were in Broadripple and this place came up, we had never even heard of it or been here. It was hidden in a corner and couldn't tell if it was open but we stopped, received a warm greeting when we walked in. We all did not arrive at the same time but we hada wonderful server that came over and was very patience. This was my first time during the pandrmic that I have actually went and sat down to eat out. I was made aware by my daughters you bring the menu up on your phone with the scan code and I guess I didn't have what was needed and Erma offered me a paper menu. You could chose breakfast or lunch. Everyone in our party chose breakfast except for one. Our orders were taken and I thought the prices were fare I had gotten an entree called Gable which consisted of 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs, potatoes, 2 toast but I was able to swap my toast out for a warm cinnamon roll. Erma made sure while we waited our cups stayed full with hot coffee and the girls used a lot of sugar so she warm making sure the sugar and cream stayed full. Didn't take long before our food came out and believe it was all correct, nothing had to be sent back, redone or anything. It was very presentable and everyone enjoyed their food except one thing my daughter got was half order of bioche french toast and she didnt care for it because she likes her french toast more wet and she said it was dry....really no fault of the restaurant that's how they fixed it and Erma was gracious enough to take it off the bill. I had the eggs Benedict with avocado added to it, which was quite tasty, though it didn't blow me away. The menu isn't especially exciting, but admittedly, I knew that before I got there. I feel like their main draw is their "libation" offerings. I would say that if you are wanting booze with your brunch, or if booze selection is a determining factor in where you go, this would be a great option for you. Also, if you aren't very adventurous with your brunch and usually stick with breakfast staples, this would be a great go to. I just feel like there are 2 or 3 places nearby that have more interesting breakfast menus as far as food goes. read more

I thought I'd posted about one of my fav Indy posts before. If so, here's another. I love this place. It never disappoints and is always consistent with friendly service and quality options. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and healthier breakfast options are a win-win for me. Northside Kitchenette offers just that along with a sweet selection of adult beverages!!!! My recommended favs are the French toast. It's citrusy, buttery and melts in your mouth - what more could I ask of a bread. My next recommendation is the Indiana bacon if you eat pork. It goes with everything in the menu: Bloody Mary, BLT, Avocado Toast, Grilled Cheese sandwich & Tomato bisque soup or any breakfast dish. Today, my 4th time there, I had the Smoked Salmon Toast...AMAZING. Even my fried, carnivorous eating husband loved it! It was so flavorful with capers, onions and cream cheese that I passed on the bacon this time (I'm trying to eat healthier). Big fan of north side social! So I was of course stoked to try their sister brunch spot!! Went with a friend and we split the avo trust and Southwest chicken wrap half and half. I can't say I was overly impressed with the wrap it was very very average. The avo toast was great though! Nice and , topped w tomato and cucumber! I liked and would get it again! I'm actually really happy I found this spot as a brunch destination. Great service and a fun atmosphere. Started with the Frose of the day which featured strawberry infused vodka and it was delicious. I was in the mood for savory so I ordered the comeback chicken and fries. The handcut fries were well seasoned and had enough crisp that I ate them in about 12 seconds. If they were a lesser fry I would've sent them back because they weren't hot and I don't mess around with my fry temp, but I didn't want to stop eating these. As for the sandwich, unfortunately I won't be coming back for that. The fried chicken had a tasty breading but overall it was way too dry. The sandwich itself is humongous with 2 cutlets stacked with pickles on a potato bun. I added tomato and lettuce at the servers suggestion which was a good call. There was a bit of the comeback sauce on the bottom bun but there was so little I couldn't tell what flavor it was trying to be. Ended up eating only 1 of the cutlets, but I did try a piece of my friends french toast so I know what I'm getting next time!! Eggs seriously undercooked. Way too runny....not per my order. Spicing on the breakfast potatoes (chili powder?) just doesnt taste good. Toast arrived with essentially no butter. I was given frozen cubes of butter to remedy the situation. Frozen butter on cold toast doesnt work. Ham was good; o.j. was good. Waitress noticed my food was uneaten but didnt inquire why. This place has plenty of outdoor seating, shaded and sunny area! They have a pretty solid menu ! You can substitute potatos for fruit at no charge! The fruit is fresh and in a variety, i got pineapple, grape, blueberry, and strawberry! Horseradish sour cream was killer! Everyone enjoyed their food and mimosas! Definitely recommend but pretty pricey! We spent $71 for two breakfasts, 1 bloody mary, 1 screw driver, splitted payment with 1 friend of the mimosas. I've been a fan of Northside Social for years now, but recently had an opportunity to give their lunchtime sister-store, Northside Kitchenette, a try. This place opens up for breakfast and lunch whereas Northside Social is open for dinner only. We arrived about 11:15 and there were just a few other people inside. By the time we left, 45 minutes later, they were much busier. This should be where you tell yourself to arrive about 11:15 if you want the place to yourself. Lunchtime menu consists of salads, sandwiches and soups. I chose a combo chicken basil sandwich (half) with a house salad for $11. The sandwich seemed a lot bigger than a half to me and was quite tasty, although I could have done with less oil on the bread. To be fair though, I say this a lot. Salad was fairly basic with their house vinaigrette, but I really enjoyed it too. In addition to the lunchtime menu, you can get breakfast anytime. They also offer desserts, which seemed a little on the expensive side to me ($10 for a slice of coconut cake) but reading the description, I might have paid it. Apparently others do because they're still selling them for that price. Bottom line, this is a super cute place to grab your morning cup of joe and a cinnamon roll or a place to sit down and have a great lunch. read more

Checked out this place around 11am on a Sunday. It was very busy but that didn't impact the service or quality at all. We were promptly seated, greeted, and drink orders returned within 10-15 mins of walking in. Our food was out within 15 mins of ordering. I picked bacon, fruit, and 1/2 biscuits and gravy from the al la carte. The bacon initially looked more chewy than crunchy, but after biting in I was happy. The slices were thick cut and had the perfect amount of crunch without tasting burnt. The biscuits were dry enough to soak up some gravy but very soft inside. I would definitively recommend. The fruit cup included grapes, berries, and pineapple. It tastes fresh like it had been cut and combined that morning. Bonus points- the waitress was friendly, prompt, and did not seem bothered when we asked for to go coffee also on our way out. read more
