Review for parents: I've been a member of many gyms before and after kids. Some have "childcare" or just a place to leave your child while you workout. The YMCA does a great job for parents and kids. Not only do they have childcare but they have lots of fun activities for them to do. You also get discounted member rates for extracurricular activities. We signed our son up for parkour and he absolutely loves it. The pool is very nice at around 83 degrees and the hot tub is very nice to relax in after a good workout. They have different times for lap swim and recreational swim. My kids love the pool and they provide flotation devices for them as well. The group exercises are great and you can always drop your kid/s off at the adventure zone before your workout. I highly recommend the Y for families as there are a lot of activities for kids to do. I only wish I could have had both my kids in the same room, but they're in different age groups and can only be in the adventure zone at certain times and days. All of the equipment is fairly new and always in working order.

God Bless the ymca for loving my kids and giving me coffee. Warms this mamas heart and saves my sanity.

Time to update this review. I've been bringing my kids and many visitors here for over 3 years. Is it perfect? NO. Far from it - but I continue to rate it highly because any problems we've encountered have been addressed with empathy, professionalism, and care. CHILD CARE CHILD CARE CHILD CARE! I can't say it enough. This program is absolutely amazing and higher quality than some of the private preschools in the area. The staff learns the kids (and parents!) names. They practice exceptional behavior management protocol for all things from separation anxiety, to toy squabbles, to temper tantrums. Kids can play for up to 2 hours while parents stay on site. Equipment is updated regularly. There are LOTS of machines. For awhile I was waiting for an elliptical at busy times.... then one day, they tripled in number. The staff pays attention to these kinds of details. Its awesome. There is a highly diverse community at this facility. This is a safe place for everyone regardless of race, age, ability, sexual orientation, religion, etc. etc. etc. I love bringing my children to such a place where they can interact with people from all different walks of life. The pool at this location is large and my children enjoy it - but it is not as great for swimming lessons, particularly preschool as other locations. Memberships allow entry to all YMCA facilities in Washington. There are many awesome classes. I'm personally not always organized enough to make it to the ones I'm interested in - but when I do, its glorious. Lots of equipment for those of us not organized to get out of the house with 3 kids AND a yoga mat. The classes are for all ages and abilities from toddlers to older active adults. On that note, over the years we've tried a number of registered programs and not all of them are good. I won't go on about personal experiences here because voicing my concerns and frustrations in person has been received effectively. I will say however, that although the staff is responsive and sympathetic, there often isn't anything they can do. The staff are obviously incredibly dedicated, but also overwhelmed with the demand for the programs at this facility.

Family section is a bit or miss. Weird hours and some staff seem like they don't want to be there.

Don't believe the newer members who don't notice how disgustingly filthy this place is. THE LEADERSHIP DOES NOT do anything about it and they're lying. This place is absolutely filthy. I have pics to prove it and nothing ever changes. Skin and hair layered on the machines. Filthy saunas. Floors disgusting. Don't take my word for it Go check it out yourself. It's not opinion, it's fact. MACHINES: Outdated and dirty. Gross in fact. Especially upstairs. GARBAGES: Constantly overflowing. BATHROOMS: Dirty. Overflowing garbages, garbage on floor. LEADERSHIP: Poor. Unresponsive. Previous manager was totally checked out and unresponsive. Current leadership-- unresponsive. They do not return messages, acknowledge requests. This place is awful. I keep coming because of the friends I've made, but overall gets a failing grade. I know 7 gyms in the area, and this is, by far, the dirtiest. As a leader of many organizations, I can honestly say this is one of the worst businesses I've ever been involved with. The leaders do not lead with conviction, just excuses. Culture is terrible. What is the ONE thing people care about the most at a gym? Cleanliness. 24hr fitness? An F for failing. They take away paper towel dispensers so the people use less. They seriously don't care. If you care about cleanliness, this is not the place for you. If you can tolerate poor leadership and a filthy environment, then go for it. If the pool and saunas attract you to this gym, just be prepared for dirty areas. It's so bad, people bring their own masking smells. 24-hr Fit screams, "We don't care. But sign up here." The only passing grade are a few employees that actually care, but feel like their hands are tied to actually do something about the problems. Should I add photos from this morning? And it's like this every day

If you're reading reviews of gyms and contemplating making a change in your life....stop and look…read moreno further. Jimmy and team at Progressive Performance are THE BEST. After a baby immediately followed by a pandemic, I found myself in the worst shape of my life. I was miserable and my fitness had hit rock bottom. I was making all sorts of excuses and then one day, a random ad on Instagram caught my eye. Maybe it was desperation, maybe it's because I'm spontaneous, but I couldn't shake it. I signed up for a consultation with PP that moment and instantly felt a sense of commitment. That first step was the hardest - admitting I needed help to get myself back - but I no longer had an excuse. I meant with Jimmy and was emotional as I admitted that I didn't know who I was anymore and acknowledged I didn't even recognize myself - but I felt safe. There was no judgement, but something clicked. I felt an instant connection and a sense of community - I wasn't broken beyond fixing....I wasn't alone on my journey. There was hope! I've been going to PP for about three months now and my only regret is not finding them sooner. The difference is apparent - both physically and mentally. Jimmy, Bryce, Ellen - they are THE best. I look forward to my gym routine - Jimmy holds me accountable and Coach Bryce is so good at pushing me to do my best, always very attentive with providing tips to maximize my workouts. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for the team at Progressive Performance....seriously I feel like a completely different person. I am so excited to see where this journey takes me! However, thanks to Curtis and the PP team, there has been a significant improvement in my posture, physical strength & stamina since my initial evaluation. The best thing about the coaches is that they help correct your form, tailor the plan to focus on the areas that are the weakest for you, and ensure u never unintentionally injure yourself. I have never been a "gym" person, and aimlessly working out without a plan or guidance is not my thing, so I am truly thankful for the support and guidance I get at this place.

This is hands down the best location of Orangetheory in the world, and I don't need to try out…read moreevery OTF to say this. 1. Coaches are all world class. My favorites have always been Christi, Luis (who is now at the Renton location), Cassie, Yurah, and Christina. "But Regina, you just named over half of the coaches!" I know, and that's exactly my point. They're ALL so good, I've never had a bad class here! 2. The energy in the room is palpable. There are 13 units for each workout station, meaning they can fit 30+ people in there. There are almost always 30 people each time during peak hour classes (early mornings before work, after work, weekends), and I LOVE that there are so many people because everyone is encouraging and it makes the class more fun. I push myself harder when I have fellow community to work out with! 3. Front desk is amazing. They have always been flexible with my needs and asks, and they deserve cookies and treats and all the best things because they are FREAKIN GREAT. 4. Location has lockers, showers, and everything you need to not look like trash as you enter or leave. A must for some busy professionals, and the showers thankfully never get crowded here because people are courteous. 5. Okay, finally the workouts. My goodness, I would go five times a week if I could. You get your butt kicked on the rowers, then you move into weight floor exercises to do strength training and core work, and then finally the treadmills is a cardio enthusiast's dream. I am NOT an experienced runner, and even I love getting up there and getting it done. No one will judge you if you choose to power walk on incline. Do what works for you!!! At the end of the day, the thing that differentiates this location from others is, I assume, the owner and the way they treat everyone with respect. There's no other explanation to me as to why this is the #1 ranked location in all of Washington state (literally this!) The energy of the people AND staff here is wildly different from any other location I've been to here in the greater Seattle area and in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will never churn as an OTF member so long as this location stays here and continues to be this amazing. LOVE! (PS- not that it's about weight, but I've seen measurable difference in my muscle mass and body fat- I lost 15 pounds in 3 months of working out 3-4x a week at OTF. So do it do it do it!)

Then I went in person again to update bank info. This employee didn't know how to, so then I left and was told a manager would reach out. No one did. I called multiple times about trying to fix my account and got no where. Then in fall, by this time they hit with a late fee each month since they didn't have a bank account numbers on file, but had my card which I guess to them isn't a valid form of payment to planet fitness which is ridiculous) I was talking to a manager in Katrina I believe her name, she was at least trying to help me get it resolved at first, submitted a refund for my late fees and finally got my bank account numbers resolved, and at least acknowledged that it wasn't fair I was paying 10 more a month for a late fee I don't deserve to pay. I was told by her she would keep me updated but I had to keep calling myself to get updates for over a month in the holidays. Finally again I called myself this week only to find out she's not there anymore, and I had to explain my situation 10th to this new manager, Zack. He explained that the refund was declined and honestly could not of cared more about the almost year of me getting hit with late fee each month because other employees didn't help me or promised to call back and never did so. Let me tell you, he couldn't care less. I asked since planet fitness declined my refund of "late fees" they I don't feel I deserve, can it be applied to my monthly credit. His response, "that's not something we do here" and asked if there's anything else that can be done or I can talk to someone above he said "nope!" WOW. I was a fitness manager for 5 years, I'm just not buying it. He also mentioned "oh well planet fitness refunded you one late fee in June we can't do another" Um, I got NO refund for any fees that I am aware of. And so you guys can do them too. Very condescending tone really did not care at all. 9 months of communication with this place only to get a fat I don't care from the manager. Just so disappointing since I have been a member since before this place even opened and was a presale member. Want a gym that cares about long term members? Keep looking elsewhere!
