Disclaimer: I'm not a member of this club, my daughter only takes private swim lessons. My daughter takes private lessons with Addie, and we can't thank her enough! We've tried many different programs and instructors, and my daughter just hasn't "taken" to the water. In comes Addie, and after a couple of months with her patience and kindness, I now have a swimmer. In addition, the entry to the facility always looks really clean and tidy. I recently signed up for a tennis membership ship (14 days ago). Turns out I can't use the membership to its fullest benefits. For this reason I canceled my me ever that just signed up for and paid the registration fee (over $500 Which includes the membership fee). So basically I have been told that if I would have contacted them before the 25th of the month, they could have refunded the membership fee but not that we are past it nothing can happen. If ever I would like to sign up again, I would still have to pay $200. This seems like a rip off and my kid come here for his classes and I come here for my beginner classes as well. Seems like it doesn't matter about customer satisfaction for them. They will Include any rule to make sure they are getting the money. Again, I like individuals here. But as business they definitely suck. I would not recommend being a member here cause as long as you are remember, you are fine but other than that it's a loss of money for you. Many would argue that I should have read terms and condition (which is in benefits to the club) but circumstances arise where you are an advocate to yourself. Be careful to becoming their member because it is a rip off, you may not know it just yet. read more

I do not recommend this gym. My wife and I have been coming here for the last 5 years and it's been on a slow decline, even more so the last few months. What to expect if you sign up for this gym, a steam room that has not worked in over a year due to a lawsuit they are currently in with a contractor who did some tile work on the bench, locker rooms that are FILTHY and not cleaned (the same band-aid sat in the same shower stall for over a week, doors that are ripped off the hinges, no cell service so you have to rely on their WI-FI which is constantly not working, a parking lot that floods. Me and my Wife have been coming here for about 6 months now and honestly is pretty nice, it is kinda older but all of their machines and equipment are up to date. Service here is also amazing you can get any size towel you want and if something in the gym is broken or down it's usually fixed within the week. They redid the pool right before we came and it's also amazing with new tile and they KEEP IT CLEAN!!! I'm a big swimmer and we used to go to MUV but after watching literal pieces of skin and hair I stopped but here they check the water hourly I believe it is. Overall a great gym the price is kinda steep but your paying for nicer amenities and kind people. Also never crazy busy which is a huge plus. read more

Bully behavior tolerated at this facility! We were at the pool with our family and kids. A woman, who appeared to be Asian American, started yelling at us that we can't have two reservations, one for an adult and one for a kid. I tried to calmly explain to her that I'm helping her by freeing up the lane and she is welcome to use it but she kept raising her voice. She bragged how she has been a long timer and 'knows everyone' and can book all the lanes. We decided to leave and went to the changing rooms. However, this episode did not stop at the pool. At the front desk, this woman kept yelling loudly about this issue and the front desk staff person in turn seemed to be taking sides with her. He said that he will reserve 2 lanes for her. To their credit, one of the staff members did follow up later about this issue and mentioned that we were right an they did talk with this lady to clarify her incorrect views on their reservation policies. Is that it? When I asked what if something like this happens again, I was told to reach out to the staff and further this *bully* woman typically uses the facility till about 4 pm so I can come in after that time if I want to avoid them. Seriously? Looks like bully behavior is being clearly tolerated at the facility without any repercussions (she should be barred!) and on top, other folks are being asked to consider changing their schedules if they want to come to the facility. read more

This club seems to have an identity crisis. It does not know whether it should be a budget club or a luxury club. It charges like a luxury club with monthly membership nearing $150 and tennis members in excess of $200 after taxes for individual members. For these rates you would expect an updated facility with newer machines and a locker room and showers that's feel inviting. Yet, it feel like a budget club that should be charging less than $50/month. Columbia, figure out what you want to be and start reinvesting back in the club. For starter, how about some towels for people with larger than a 32" waist that don't feel like you are drying with yesterday's newspaper. If you need help looking for a club to model or benchmark, I recommend Equinox or Lifetime. read more

My first review written of this athletic club was in September 2014. We are still members and never consider changing to another club because it's a GREAT place! There are so many options for getting our workouts here! There is a Mind/Body studio for yoga/pilates classes, a group exercise room for step aerobics/power classes (with weight bars)/core classes/zumba classes and more, a Spin studio with lots of spin bikes and classes, a well-equipped weight room with machines always well maintained, a gym with basketball court, indoor heated pool/hot tub/kids pool, tennis courts (indoor and outdoor), outdoor pool (seasonal), and well-kept-up locker rooms with showers/sauna. Towels are provided at the front desk. The employees are helpful and friendly. Yes, memberships are more than a standard gym, but there is so much variety for your workouts here! read more

First day in and I can't use the machine or bench I came for because some dipshit kid is sitting on his cell phone. No machines being wiped down. Nothing. Had to leave. Pool in the morning was great. Attendant was very nice. If you were thinking of paying more here so that you could avoid kids taking selfie's and a higher safety standard then don't bother. Just go to a regular gym. Will try a few more times to see if the pattern continues. Between here and planet fitness for $20 a month with tanning, so far I say planet. Trust me. May be a little more busy but they are taking Covid much more seriously and enforcing wiping machines down. read more

It's nice inside of the gym, I was in 5days trial. I like to swim but I seen that a lots of swimming classes at there and on the schedule too, very minimum time for open so I'm decide not to be a member. Also price are high than other gyms. read more

REVIEW OF POOL AREA ONLY: Went only to use the pool, as stated when we called about hours and cost. A good thing it was during the free trial, so did not sign up. Spent more time in the changing room than was necessary because we checked in, we were not told that you have to ask for a special insert card to be able to use the locker keys. It was a waste of ten minutes trying to figure that out, so thought I would be happy to get in and do my water running exercises. Nope. The pool is not suitable for deep-water exercise; it is 4 1/2 ' at its deepest. Really; this should be on the website like the rest of the pools in the area have. I thought maybe the therapy pool would be deeper, then, but it is not, either. The hot tub, even with the current health situation, was uncomfortably crowded ( more than 6 ppl before I hurriedly exited). Thankfully, this was a free visit, but sadly a waste of gas, time, and a chance to swim in the Silver Lake vicinity. read more

I love the club and the faculty, and most of the employees. But the trainers are extremely rude! It can be uncomforable to be around the trainers while working out, because they make you feel so unwanted. Not to mention when the trainers are on their breaks they come to workout in the training areas (which is totally fine) but they will take over paying members equipment and or take over the without saying a word. They lack some serious etiquette and manners. read more

Columbia provides a well-maintained, professional, and versatile facility that welcomes members of all ages to utilize. Cordell, an associate running the front was very pleasant and professional, helping me find my way around the club's facilities on my first visit. I personally enjoyed the wide variety of training equipment, from the athlete-specifics, machines, and free weights. Regan, a lifeguard by the pool was also very helpful in answering any questions I had about swimming techniques and added to the quality of my workout. If one finds a commercial gym's atmosphere too distracting/noisy/crowded, I highly suggest giving Columbia a try. read more

On my PacNW tour of tennis clubs I play matches at - the Columbia Athletic Club - Silver Lake was next on my tour. Came here over the weekend to play a match - and was pleasantly surprised! It's super convenient for tennis matches since it's right off the freeway (unlike Mill Creek Tennis Club!). Tennis courts are well taken care of - and it's the first place I've played an away match where I haven't had to pull out all my winter gear (jackets, mittens, beanie, etc). That's right - this tennis court wasn't freezing cold like everywhere else I've played, which was such a relief. I think they had 5 courts, and it was also nice they keep the court curtains down in between them so noone's match gets interrupted. In addition to the well appointed tennis courts, there are two large spectators areas - one with a big flat screen TV and one next to the main court. Both are great for players because they block out any sound that may be coming from rowdy spectators. I didn't spend any time at the rest of the club - but it seemed to have alot of amenities - including a pilates reformer studio! I hear membership fees are pretty low (court fees were only $11) and it appeared family friendly. I'd definitely come play here again! read more

Columbia Athletic Club is the best! I love the tennis program as well as the numerous classes offered in addition to the weight room, cardio equipment and indoor & outdoor pools. The tennis pros and personal trainers are amazing and some members have become my best friends. Joining this club is one of the best decisions I've made! read more

We moved from Edmonds/Lynnwood area and used to use Harbour Square and loved it... so when we moved North starting searching for something similar. We discovered the CAC and have really enjoyed all of the programs. They have a wonderful Kids Club and kids camps/activities as well as great exercise classes for adults. Would recommend read more

So looking at me you would never guess but yes, I do have my favorite gym! OK, so maybe I don't go there as often as I should but when I do, I feel super good and here's why... Huge selection of group classes - starting with step (which I'm not crazy about) ending with zumba (which I'm crazy about). Awesome large indoor pool that ALWAYS has 3 open lanes for swimming laps, even when they have swimming classes running. Small indoor pool for kids. Large outdoor pool - so nice in the summer! Warm towels - you pick it up at the lobby and drop it off on the way out. Kid activities - I don't just mean kid club where you can drop your little ones off but also games and physical activities for them. Senior activities. Large indoor and outdoor tennis courses (I don't play tennis but good to know it's there in case I get in the mood) Health food cafe - yes it has all the natural sandwiches and yogurt but it also has wine and beer!!!! The atmosphere in general is very family oriented, some kids, some grandmas, lots of Moms and Dads. Not a lot of competition in looking hot or sexy, certainly not the ideal place to show off, and this is just the way I like it. I get my work out, have a good chat with friends in cafe and go home very refreshed. read more

Found a coupon in my entertainment book for a hot yoga class and knew I had to check out this gym. I didnt even know that gyms offered hot yoga. Who knew. My class was excellent. I took a heated vinyasa class. This gym is also fabulous. Not only does it offer hot yoga, it has 3 pools, some are even outdoors (although only open seasonally). There are tons of classes offered. The locker room is large and fabulous as well. The lockers are so advanced I had to ask someone how to use them, they involve some kind of card system which then gives you a key to carry with you. There is even a cafe, which even serves beer at the gym. My boyfriend was very excited to learn this and feels that this alone might motivate him to join a gym. Everyone I spoke to was super nice. My friend who came for the class with me was even thinking she might want to get a job there. If only the prices were cheaper, although I can easily understand how people would be willing to pay these prices for membership (my regular hot yoga alone is 17$ a class). Convenientely located in South Everett near the freeway with plenty of parking. I definetely hope to go back some day. read more

This is simply the best gym in the area. Everyone thinks the prices are high but are reasonable for what you get. The outdoor pool alone makes this place worth every penny but the gym itself has so much more to offer. I have tried every gym around and now can finally stop searching. Even the sign up process which for me has been a nightmare at every gym I have ever joined was pleasant. It was Ben that signed me up but everyone I have talked to has been nice. I just had such an amazing experience at barre class with instructor Delaney! She was so upbeat and motivating throughout the whole class. It was my very first barre class but you could tell it was very challenging for everyone yet extremely fun and not intimidating whatsoever. I'm definitely coming back next week! read more

I joined this gym only because it was only a half mile from the house we bought about 6 month ago. I knew they offer excellent yoga classes, but after I started taking all the other classes they offer at this gym, I was hooked. I never imagined I would be going to gym 5 days a week. I managed to loose so much weight without even trying. I love this gym and all the great instructors work there. Facility is also very nice. Great pools, tennis court etc. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good place to work out !! read more

I've been going here for a little over a month now. I commute from Marysville just to go here. It's one of the only gyms around with a pool and a very nice locker room and work out area. The gym is HUGE, they have everything from Basketball, a pool, separate weight rooms for free weights, machine weights and cardio, and a bunch of other things. It is expensive! The only thing I do not like about the gym is the point that EVERY class COSTS MONEY!! For the price a member pays a month, the classes should be included, but they are an extra $10+ for each class! Personal trainer sessions are also very expensive!! I love the gym and pool but think its ridiculous that the classes and personal trainers are so expensive and an extra cost on top of the membership monthly fee. Also the pool is salt water, its very nice, but it seems like it needs a good clean. The gym can be very busy with kids running around during the earlier hours of the evening but after 7:30 pm, it gets pretty quiet. The locker room can be a mess, I wish the staff would go through and do a quick clean up after the kids swimming lessons. Overall a good gym that needs a little tweaking! read more

It's a good gym. They offer everything you could ever imagine in a gym, and manage to pull it off well. The free weights room is roomy, the trainers give you space to work on your own, and they don't seem to mind heavy lifting - somewhat remarkable considering it's such a posh place. I adore this club. i had been a member of LA fitness for over 10 years, and liked it. However, once I went to this gym, I discovered what a gym is supposed to be. Excellent classes led by positive, up beat, friendly, and welcoming etchers. People who remember who you are, smile when you walk by. Helpful staff. don't harass you for up grading. ( No one accosts you for not having a personal trainer) Every class you could ever want. I was also a member of a yoga studio, and was paying quite a lot for it, but when I joined this gym I was able to take any kind of yoga i wanted (including hot yoga) and have benefit of pretty much every other sports activity I wanted. Also side note, the pools are salt water and not chlorine, makes a big difference. Really family friendly as well. great place to take your children for recreation! read more

I've been going to Columbia for about 7 years. The club is a bit more expensive than other gyms in the area but is totally worth it. The child care is amazing and I never worry about the quality of care my kids receive in the Kids Club. The classes offered are free with your membership and they have so many to choose from that my training never stalls. All classes switch programs every 6 weeks or so to keep your body guessing. I really like that the lockers are free and the locker room is always stocked with shampoo, body wash, lotion, spray deodorant, tissues, q-tips and even hair dryers. You can take as many towels as you want where at other gyms they squawk at you if you take more than one or two. Each locker room has a dry sauna in it, there are two large pools (inside and outside) and a small pool for little kids, a huge steam room and hot tub. They have family bathrooms with showers which is super convenient if you have little kids. They also have a cafe with fresh food, smoothies, espresso bar and free coffee! The best thing is the staff and trainers. The staff quickly remembers you by name which is super welcoming. The trainers that work at Columbia teach the classes and do personal training but are always happy to help you if you have questions about your form, nutrition, injury, how to achieve your personal fitness goals, really anything. They are great people and incredible resources. I joined to lose 50 lbs which I did in the first year and have kept going to lose baby weight after each of my 3 pregnancies. For reference, i have been a long time member at the silver lake 24 hour fitness and tried la fitness. I was mainly looking for Hot yoga classes and they offered it here for a way better deal than what you would pay for a Yoga studio. Yoga studios are expensive, so for the same price i decided to purchase a membership here. Not only i get hot yoga classes but zumba, weight training, boot camp and cycling. There are so many classes offered at many different times in the day. The pool is the biggest pool i have ever seen and its is salt water. I like how it is not crowded and not filled with meat heads. I love this gym and i don't know if i could go back to a conventional gym. My relative says its like a five star hotel and i can agree with her on that. read more

I am not a member of this gym but recently had a birthday party at the Silver Lake location. They did a GREAT job! Bari was so helpful with the planning/asking questions/suggestions, I really appreciated their assistance. The day of the party, there was plenty of staff on hand to assist and help with set up/clean up. The restrooms/changing rooms are REALLY nice for a gym. Much better than I expected! I would highly recommend for a kids birthday party. They were able to swim and play games in the gym. read more

I have been a member at various fitness clubs for the last 30 years. I joined Columbia's Silver Lake Club in Oct. 2013. It's by far the best club I've ever been associated with. Columbia is a multi-use facility offering a wide range of fitness opportunities. From bootcamps, to body conditioning, basketball training to weight training, even tennis memberships! Columbia even has a sister driving range next door. I love this facility. It gives me an opportunity to try many different things and feel confident about myself. I joined this club for one reason - to swim laps. The pool looks beautiful but even though they claim to keep the water temperature at 85.5 degrees it's never that low. It's so hot in the pool - usually about 87 degrees - that it's impossible to workout in it. Do yourself a favor, save yourself a lot of money and find a different place to swim laps! read more

This gym is awesome!! It's a little on the pricey side but it has SO much to offer. They have around 90 classes a week!! Everything from step, zumba, hot yoga, weight lift classes, and the list goes on! They have a tennis club if you're into that. And a pool inside and out! The staff is super nice and helpful. It feels like they actually care about their members and encourage them. It's not corporate and snobby. It's a family friendly environment. They even have a cafe, tv area, and wifi! If you can afford it I totally recommend going here. read more
