I have had each of my 6 kids enrolled off and on over the last 15 months through the school year and summer offerings. My oldest kids had a variety of instructors during the evening offerings for after school and my youngest kids have thrived with Henry as their weekday morning instructor from beginning classes through the intermediate levels as well. The admin staff is super helpful and a great resource for questions. Shout out to Brooklynn! Yes, registration can be a huge pain but I think that's to be expected for any high demand organization (which this is). The servers can only handle so much and should not be a reflection of all that West Coast has to offer. I am so pleased that West Coast offers such excellence in their program that encompasses both safety (which is a huge priority for me), but also the benefits of swimming as a lifestyle and a quality form of healthy exercise for one's entire life. They are always looking for new ways to enhance and better their program as it grows. Truly worth every single penny.

Despite attending summer camp daily, his evaluation showed a regression--with no clear explanation. When I raised concerns, I was met with defensiveness and vague responses also surprisingly rude attitude. Communication with instructors was discouraged. While the instructors seem capable, the system feels rigid, opaque, and dismissive of parent feedback. We gave this program six months of patience and good faith. Sadly, transparency and accountability were never part of the equation.

I have 2 boys, 20 months and a new 4. While on vacation, my older son forgot he didn't have his life jacket on and jumped into the deep end. I was right there, but I still managed some tears thinking "what if I wasn't?" These lessons aren't going to teach your child to swim freestyle across the pool. Ensuring your child can get himself to the surface and roll onto their backs and wait/cry until help arrives is what they do. And there are additional skills involved for older babies/children teaching them to swim all the way to safety. Both my boys LOVE Miss Heather. She is extremely patient, and she takes the kids' personalities into consideration. I ALWAYS felt my boys were safe with her, even when they were learning difficult maneuvers. Miss Heather knew how to correct their techniques so they would learn and demonstrate the important survival skills they need. I can't say enough about Miss Heather and ISR! I'm so glad we did it. I would beg of you to see her if you have regular water access. This skill is life-saving.

I swam for the Innis Arden youth swim team for 12 years approximately 1999-2010. Though my family…read morehad a pool membership before that time range as well and I worked at the pool until 2012. I also took part in youth water polo off and on. I started working here in Spring 2007 when I was 14 years old and worked here until August 2012, amounting to a little under 6 years, taking on various roles. Working at a pool while also using it for lap swim, rentals, open (recreation) swim, swim team, and water polo provides a well-rounded view of the pool setting. I went from cleaner to lifeguard and swim instructor to senior lifeguard and swim instructor to assistant swim coach and swim instructor. Being a cleaner, yes we even got to clean the locker rooms and wash the floors and scrub the toilets, was an eye opening experience as to the daily upkeep required in the operations and maintenance of a pool. Lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons here were more relaxed than the other pools I worked at (The Dale Turner Family YMCA and Evans Pool for the City of Seattle) and it is not one of the pools I made a rescue at. From a lifeguard perspective that is truly a testament to how well run/operated the pool is. Typically the pool is seasonal, opening in late Spring and closing closer to the end of Summer. However, this year the pool it trying some things out and expanding its open dates for lap swimming and hosting a high school swim team and a club swim team for their practices. Fun to drive past the pool in February and still see people in the pool. Fortunately Innis Arden pool is a heated pool, so even if the weather is 30 or 40 degrees Fahrenheit outside the pool remains a comparatively balmy 79-85 degrees. I have swam in non-heated pools in 30 and 40 degree weather and that is a brutal experience and takes a toll on my system. So relish the comparative luxury of a heated pool! I love the pool layout, though I cannot speak of the locker rooms/office as they have been remodeled since I worked here and my family has chosen to go without a pool membership for about a decade. Locker rooms and the office are located between the fenced pool deck and a grassy field. A parking lot extends one length and end of the pool. On the side of the pool opposite to the parking lot is the Innis Arden Clubhouse which can be used for swim-related events on occasion. The pool deck is a couple to a few inches taller than the pool water level and has a coarse-grained texture which is perfect for preventing slippage on deck especially when one is dripping wet. There was a rickety slide and a diving board when we still had a membership. When people weren't using the slide it was fun to see how long we could last with our heads under the water cascading down and off the slide. Cold water ran to coat the slide so that when we used the slide we did not get stuck to it sliding down, no swimsuit wedgie is good with me :).

She loved the water and was comfortable in it, but still was avoiding going underwater and wasn't learning how to really swim. It wasn't until we finally got to Emily at 2 1/2 that she became comfortable going underwater and eventually learned the movement. Emily's background in child development and years of teaching show in her approach to teaching children how to swim. We highly recommend her and her team.

Booking lessons is easy and flexible, with a 24 hour no penalty cancelation policy. All three locations are quiet and lovely. I recommend trying out a few different instructors to find your match. It's great though, because they don't require any commitment, you can book lessons one at a time as you find availability and things open up all the time due to the cancelation policy. You can even get consistent lessons for the whole season. They will book them all for you for a small extra fee.

Think twice before you trial any competitive program here…read more Our daughter spent two years on team and almost quit the sport entirely. In her last season she experienced retaliation from a coach, emotionally immature leadership, and conduct that violated their own handbook. When concerns were raised by multiple families, ownership declined to meet and responded with: "We believe we can move forward from here and work towards a positive season." Our daughter was eight years old. She lost confidence. She lost skills. Schedules changed constantly. Classes were added mid-season at an extra cost because, in their own words, they had too many girls to teach new routines at once. The list goes on. If you do choose to trial, ask about attrition. We are aware of at least five or six girls leaving a team of fifteen this season alone. That speaks volumes. Competitive gymnastics demands clear communication and genuine investment in every child. You will not find that here.

The facility is beautifully updated with new equipment that is used well by the coaches to help teach the fundamentals and build a solid physical foundation. The gym is clean, inviting, and absolutely buzzing with activity. It's so fun watching all the different levels giving it their all and having a blast. We loved the coach, and watching from the observation area, I was really impressed with the caliber of instruction and serious, but genuinely kind manner. As a parent, this was a valuable opportunity for my child to try new, challenging things and also to grow in grit and confidence. We loved it! The only reason I knocked off a star is that they do mandatory rolling enrollment, basically an auto pay type situation. They allow you to opt out under certain conditions, and the staff are really nice, but it would be nice if they offered an option to do one session at a time for the beginning classes, especially.

We've only been going to Gymagine for a few months now, but it has made a big impression. For my 8-year-old, it has been an opportunity to learn new skills from instructors who seem to really pay attention and are happy to help them try over and over again until they get it. She has made huge strides in her abilities and in her confidence. For my 5-year-old, it has been just plain fun. She connected with the instructors immediately and spends much of class not only doing gymnastics but sharing stories about her day. Even with all of her chatter, she is fully engaged in what they are learning. For my husband and me, it is a comfortable space to watch our kids have a great time and grow stronger. Plus, they have strong wifi and tons of power outlets. And there's just something about the people there. It feels so positive, and I appreciate that team tryouts are open - that's my first experience at a gym that does that. Oh, and as for the young instructors, they are well-trained, well-supervised, and all seem to truly love teaching the kids. Turns out my older daughter's current school teacher was once a Gymagine instructor. If she's an example of what they instill in these instructors, then they are doing an amazing job.

My kids were at The Little Gym Everett before we moved to this area and they do more for you than anyting I've seen at GYMagine. My son was by himself in a class, little to no engagement by the coach, lots of down time and wandering around the gym, he was bored and did not learn anything new. My daughter, also did not learn anything new, was more advanced than the others so she was also bored. SO MUCH DOWN TIME. Coaches have no plans, teenagers are running the front desk, no adult supervision, they messed up our schedules not once but five times. The gym is dirty, old equipment, coaches don't start on time, no safety training when kids get hurt (several friends of ours have gotten hurt with no follow up safety), management does not care, late or no answer on messages, phone calls, texts. Would highly recommend you think twice before sending your children here.
