We had a bad water leak to the point where we had to shut the water meter off. We had someone detect where the leak was and mark off the area on a Friday before we started calling around for plumbers who could repair the leak. King Plumbing was one of the plumbers who replied quickly and worked with me via text to get more details and provide a quote. They originally said they could have someone come a week later but after I let them know the severity of the issue they managed to organize someone to come the next day (Saturday morning) when they typically don't work weekends. Michael arrived promptly the next morning and after I showed him around he got to work. The leaking pipe was outside under the lawn. He excavated the area and found the cracked pipe before replacing it. He showed us the repair, and the cracked pipe, and had us verify that the water was working inside the house before filling the hole back in. We were so grateful that he came out on the weekend and helped us get running water again so quickly. The invoice process was smooth and reflected the initial estimates, which were much more reasonable than other quotes we received from other companies. We needed our toilet shut-off valves replaced and King Plumbing, along with a few others, came highly recommended by my neighborhood facebook group. We contacted the top 3 recommended plumbers. One gave us an estimate that was almost twice as much and mentioned having to cut into our walls and that we would be responsible for any patchwork! Side note: we live in a condo and the HOA "owns" everything inside the walls. Anyways, when the guys from King Plumbing came by, they assessed that we only needed to rebuild our current valves and they definitely did not need to cut into our walls. My coworker recommended King Plumbing and I had a great experience working with them! The shower handle and faucet in my condo apartment were leaking. I originally intended to replace all of the hardware while fixing them at the same time, so I contacted King Plumbing and around 10 other Seattle plumbers to ask for estimates. King Plumbing was THE ONLY plumber who replied with a detailed and transparent estimate about how much the work and parts might cost! Every other plumber wanted to charge me $35-150 just to come out and look at my condo (of course the fee would be "waived" if I chose to hire them, and I'd lose the money if I didn't). After a while, I realized that my dreams of replacing all of my shower hardware would be out of my budget. I contacted King Plumbing again and they suggested just replacing the cartridge in the shower handle for much, much cheaper. Julie, the wife and office manager, was so knowledgeable and helpful when it came to recommending parts and the work that could be done. I really appreciated her quick responses via email and her transparent pricing for the different types of work I could have done. Two guys came out to my condo this morning and quickly fixed the shower handle. When it looked like the faucet was still leaking and needed to be replaced, they ran back out to their truck and brought in a matching replacement faucet that they luckily had on hand. They installed that with no problem, and only charged me an extra $20 for the part and installation, instead of nickel-and-diming me for the extra work. We recently discovered 1) a leak in our main water line coming to our house, and 2) that we needed to replace our in-house water shut-off valve and pressure regulator, so we got some bids. King Plumbing and another reputable company were about the same price, the third company wanted to put a whole new water line in, and told me it was dumb to just repair it (for a fraction of the cost) so he was out. Julie was extremely pleasant to work with - very fast on getting back to me - and she even recommended how we might save some money on the project if they were able to access the piping via a crawl space. And Josh came out to do the work. I had a leak detection company find the spot of the leak, and Josh had to cut the concrete and start digging. It took him some hours, and it wasn't exactly where the leak detector said it was, but Josh kept working at it, digging down about four feet, and he finally got it. He did the repair to the black plastic pipe, and made quick work of replacing the shut off and pressure regulator in the crawl space. He filled in the hole in the driveway and even put in forms and repaired the cement driveway to a point I can hardly tell any work was done there. I never got hit up for more work, or extra charges, or anything unusual. Josh just simply and competently did the work. He hauled away the old concrete he cut out, everything was very clean when he left, and I'm happy to have found these guys for my plumbing needs. read more

From the beginning, the experience with King Plumbing was poor and communication was extremely poor. Other plumbers that saw the work after they finished weren't impressed and called the job lazy. Upon seeing the conversation between myself and Julie, the wife of the owner, they were appalled. Local plumbers won't be referring customers they can't take on to King Plumbing based on the conversation we had with them. Customer service is non-existent here. Despite everything that occurred (including an inspector that was confused by the tub not even being connected to the main line with a p trap when he came), I will solely base this review on communication. To begin, 5PM rolled around the day our bid was suppose to happen, and no communication had been relayed to me on their ETA. The bid appointment was missed because Julie scheduled us a week later than we had agreed upon. This wasn't a big deal, and they said they were able to come the next day to do the bid. Cool, so I thought. 5PM rolls around the next day, and no ETA had been given, or any communication at all, so I reach out. Julie says Josh is close and will be at our place soon. Cool, so I thought. 6PM comes and he hasn't showed. Julie texts and says he's actually not close, contradicting herself and showing she hadn't actually communicated with the plumber, Josh, and will be coming at 7PM. This should've been the red flag for what was to come. Time comes to schedule the work, and Julie mentions she'll get back to us the next morning. This doesn't happen. I once again have to follow up to receive communication. Day 1. Work begins. My experience with Josh is very similar to the other 1 star review they have on Yelp. Adolescent man child is a perfect description! He has some attitude and was generally a grumpy guy. From the get-go, he was in a bad mood, swearing even. The only nice part was when he left each day he thanked me. They finish day 1 of work and mention they'll come back to finish up the following day in the afternoon. Cool, so I thought. Day 2. 4PM rolls around and I've heard nothing about when they'll show up. I once again have to reach out to receive communication. Julie mentions how sorry she is, again, about the bad communication that's been occurring, and that he won't be showing up due to issues at another job. I had waited and taken time off from my work day for them to come, this was extremely frustrating since the poor communication was continuous. I tell Julie to please let me know what time he will be showing up the next day and to tell me when he's coming ahead of time. Day 3. No ETA was given, and Josh randomly shows up in the middle of the day while I'm in the middle of a work meeting. This goes against what I asked for, a heads up with an ETA is all that was needed. It is now clear that, not only does King Plumbing have poor communication with their customers, but the husband and wife duo (Josh and Julie) that run the business also have poor communication. They finish the work, and Josh mentions that after the inspection occurs they will test everything and put a cap on an old sewer vent that now vents into the attic. In the end, he never put the old sewer vent cap on. This didn't matter in the end since we had it removed and roofed, but still disappointing. A few days after they finish the work, the inspector comes. He is confused as to why the tub isn't connected to the main line, and is also confused as to why it doesn't have a p-trap. He asks if this was communicated to me, and if I know why it hasn't. It wasn't communicated to me. Josh receives the inspectors pass with suggestion to connect the tub and p-trap, and he comes back later that week to install the trap. Another failed communication. I'm not sure if he forgot, if communication failed between him and his partner, or if he planned on doing it after inspection (we hope it was the latter). Nonetheless, other plumbers and the inspector were confused as to why it wasn't done before and why it wasn't communicated to me. In the end, I brought up the communication issues with Julie before writing a review, and she absolutely exploded. She comes off as a great, nice person at first. But, if you have any issues, take this as a warning--She will explode and say some nasty things, such as you have no common sense. Funny, common sense is communicating with your customer on basic things like your arrival time, or if you're not arriving at all (which happened twice). As I mentioned earlier, other plumbers witnessed the conversation I had with Julie, saw their bid, and saw their work. Not impressed. The pattern of poor customer service, poor communication, and utter carelessness for the customer is clear with this company. The other 1 star review and my review should be a warning if you choose to move forward with King Plumbing. It might turn out fine like the great reviews they have (and I truly do hope my experience was a one off), but it could turn out very bad. read more

This is an addendum to a previous review- also not great. King did our rough in. They placed the flange (the hole the toilet sits on) 10 inches from the wall. Standard is 12 inches. We had to donate the toilet we bought and buy another toilet to accommodate their shoddy work. The first toilet install (upstairs) leaked one month after they installed it. read more

Anthony came back and did our final plumbing trim for two sinks and a toilet, and hot water lines for the MIL and recirculation line to enable the built-in pump in the Navien water heater he installed. We live in a rambler and the furthest faucet from the tankless is about 60 ft away, yet we get hot water in about 5 seconds in every location now! This used to take over a minute at the furthest point. Everything went well and the work was completed faster than I anticipated. Anthony is very efficient. Had a bad valve installed in several locations on account of the prior owner's contractor cutting costs. Two separate leaks within one year. We decided to request quotes from plumbers in my area to get all of them changed. King Plumbing came in at a reasonable rate but what really sold me was their responsiveness and honesty. That really puts my mind at ease selecting them. Leading up to the repair, I received a quote, service date and time, and expectations with regard to water service. Day of the repair, my plumbers asked if they could arrive early which was not a problem for me as my water had been turned off for the day for other reasons. Repair was started early and finished even earlier. When the water returned, I checked for leaks throughout the night and of course, there were none. Having a 5 star rating is important. These guys are aces. Our new home inexplicably only had one hose bib and we struggled to find a plumber to add another. King was responsive and fairly priced and when they came to do the work they were great about going over all the details of the job - from impact to the drywall, to drilling into the Hardie siding. They were fast, efficient, and thorough. A few months later we discovered we totally blew it - the A/C we are having installed needs to sit EXACTLY where the new hose bib was installed. Insert head smack here. We called King very stressed, hoping they could fix our mistake before the A/C installers came. Same as before, they got back to me quickly and moved it to accommodate the install, again being super careful to minimize impact to the walls. These guys are absolutely terrific - meticulous, knowledgeable, good humored, fairly priced and responsive. As most homeowners know, it's very difficult to get home repairs done these days, much less ones checking all the boxes the way King does. Since I had no experience in solving this kind of problem, I reviewed a number of companies and decided on King Plumbing based on stellar customer reviews. Every aspect of the interaction with this company was excellent. Very responsive in returning my call and scheduling the appointment. They communicated status on the day of the service and arrived on time. Julie was the primary point of contact so kudos to her. As to the work, the tech identified the problem, explained options and completed the repair. He then tested to make sure the leak was fixed. He was nice guy, careful as possible to minimize making a mess in opening up the ceiling and cleaned up everything when done. King Plumbing is now my "go-to" for plumbing services. My neighbor offered the recommendation because of their service and being "so nice".... so I tried them. Im glad I did. I requested a quote and had the figures from King very quickly. I booked the service from King to replace a garbage disposal which died during Thanksgiving and install a new kitchen faucet and soap dispenser. I had another local plumber come earlier in the month. He claimed he fixed the disposer and leaking pipe, but alas, this was not true as it still leaked as did the garbage disposal after he left. King Plumbing came promptly at 8am as scheduled and I was greeted by Anthony and Brandon. Both were very polite and worked hard and quickly to install a new kitchen faucet and soap dispenser, a new garbage disposal and they also replaced the pipe at no charge which was formerly clogged and leaking that my former plumber simply cleaned out. My go to contractor who had initially installed it was on a nationwide travel adventure. With time not on my side, they immediately came out replacing the pressure release valve, initially thought to be the problem. Still leaking the next day, they refunded the charge for the part and labor, and pursued replacing the faulty heater with the water heater company.
